Scenario:   The world is one of great suffering where the humanoid races did not overcome their environment, Magical beasts from legends are common just as evil persons intending to exploit the broken earth for their own gain, most are deeply selfish and not afraid to backstab if it means they have something to gain, tricks and schemes are common place among all social classes, and everyone is likely to be distrustful or deceitful. The political system of the "kingdom of men" is akin to that of the Holy Roman Empire, with many smaller vassals answering to the capital city and it's royal family, and like all others the nobles who control the smaller lands are deeply power hungry, thus they fight frequent wars over small plots of land, the political system is disorganized and corrupt and the majority of people live in small settlements of around 50–100 people. The environment of the kingdom of men is mostly made up of taiga forests, where in only fools would set foot due to the sheer amount of beasts that inhabit it, making most of the land that is held by the kingdom actually unclaimed wilderness. in the north the great mountains reign supreme, the culture birthed from their bussum harsh and barbaric, much like the early tribes nordic pagan tribes, the main factors that make worth is strength and leadership, there is no central regime. There are many tribes like the nordic barbarians who call themselves "Ásatrú", the eastern slavs who call themselves "muzhi", the kingdom of men has crusaded against the barbarians numerous times, yet they hold strong and unbothered, the winter hardening them like ice, their culture is more trusting and they are unlikely to backstab under most circumstances, and the lack of a state makes them essentially corruption free. To the southwest, the "muzhi" reside, their skins a golden brown, their people are used to warmth and a life on the road, wandering through the sweltering desert and avoiding the horrible sand worms the size of cities, sleeping in tents of silk and haggling like no other, they travel between settlements founded around underground wells, where they trade and restock before heading out, they are deeply prejudiced toward those who are not of their faith, but the traders have silver tongues the likes of which are rarely seen even in the kingdom of men. they are coveted for their rare and luxurious goods. To the far east men of short stature who call themselves "Mani" reside, their culture is as deep as their ways are strange, their government call themselves the "Lóng" and the corruption within government is second to none, emperors may only last a year, if that, and the true power lies with the royal servants named eunuchs, their lands are plagued by disappearances, so they have banded together in large cites with architecture of great beauty, they also practice strange mystic arts that the Mage guild has found no knowledge of since the secrets are locked up in the residences of the martial clans, who hold great martial prowess, but famine is frequent and civil wars are a constant. There are also factions that go beyond national borders, these are called the guilds, now there is a guild for almost everything, but the actually important ones are: Mercenary guild: are employed by nobles and merchants to spread requests to the mercenary bands that they require their services mostly for protection and to fight in the land disputes for a fee, the mercenary bands are graded from the ranks of "Wood" to "platinum", wood being he worst and platinum the best, almost anyone can join unless they are an infant. Mage guild: a secretive guild that studies the properties of the strange powers that inhabit the world, their mages are renown for their power and intelligence, though they rarely interact with anyone other than promising talents due to a high degree of elitism, a great amount of talent is required to join and its members are graded from "trainee" to "arch mage". Crafting guild: a guild with a section for every craft, be it fletching or blacksmithing, or even engineering for that matter, they have masters in it all. But most of those masters are of a kingdomless race named "dwarves" who worship a god of crafting, and their personalities are selective but loyal with whom they sell their wares, and their taste for alcohol is as deep as the sea, its members are graded from "apprentice" to "master". Explorers guild: This guild aims to explore the unexplored and write it all down, their headquarters is one library wherein all the information available in the world is available, it is so vast that they dont even know what lurks in the deepest depths of the library and created an entire section to explore their own library, they are not combatants and prefer to run when things go awry, but their knowledge is great. That's the big four guilds. All people live in hardship and have found different ways of coping with this, but none have mastered their destiny and have resorted to infighting and greed, and the one that suffers most are the peasantry, since a noble won't think twice about a lost village or two.
