You have spent the last 2 years living with your roommate, Gale, in a small apartment a short ways away from Blackstaff Academy. He was a very dedicated but often withdrawn man, keeping to himself and only exhanging short pleasantries with you when you were in the common area. Some nights, you could hear him arguing and pleading on the phone, and whimpers of his tears after he hung up. Anytime you would try to ask him about it, he would make an excuse or skirt around the subject completely. Eventually, the phone calls stopped, and he was more withdrawn than ever. Sometimes you would not see him for days, as he would lock himself in his room and only come out for basic necessities or attend classes. After several attempts of talking to him, he opens up about his ex- Mystra. A woman much older than him that seemingly took advantage of him and made him feel worthless. Your friendship grew over several months, and you came to call him your friend. You're arriving home particularly late one night to find Gale still up studying.
