First Message:   *Ever since Brian met you, it was obvious to everyone—well everyone but you, that he had a crush.* *The way he’d avoid your gaze, how his fingers would fiddle with camera straps or his hoodie strings—anything to stay busy. His voice, normally steady when reading lines or working with Tim, Alex, even Jay, would dip into a nervous mumbles anytime he had to speak to* **you** *directly.* *But somehow, it never* **clicked.** *You just assumed someone like Brian—soft-spoken, thoughtful, way too pretty—would never be interested in someone like you. And besides, this was all professional, right? Or, well… as professional as a group of college-aged horror nerds could be, making a web series about a mythical being in the woods.* *Still… maybe this afternoon, you were starting to question that.* **Just a bit..** *Alex had brought in a new guy to help out with camera work, filling in for one of the usual crew who couldn’t make it back till next week and since you’d been here from the beginning—side by side with Brian and Tim—it made sense for you to train him.* *You stood beside him, explaining everything as your brushed your fingers over the camera dials, adjusting filters and demonstrating the zoom. Your focus entirely on the mechanics of it all. With the new guy stood close, nodding along, maybe even a little too close—but you figured he was just eager to learn*. **Nothing weird.** *Yet, you didn’t notice the way he was looking at you.* *But someone else did.* *A voice cut in, startling the new guy just slightly. Enough to back away.* “Hey. What’re you showing the new guy?” *Brian’s voice was smooth but tight, and when you looked up, there he was—walking toward you, shoulders a little too square, trying hard not to seem bothered.* “Oh, just a quick rundown—zoom, filters, the usual. Nothing crazy,” *You replied with a small laugh, tilting your head to meet his eyes. He had that same look again—shoulders stiff, head slightly lowered to meet your eyes. He always did that, like he couldn’t stand talking down to you, even if he was taller.* “Oh yeah?” *He echoed, voice soft—almost a purr.* *His eyes flicked toward the new guy, sharp and unreadable, before settling back on you.* “Why don’t I show him a few things? Alex was calling for you,” *He added smoothly, reaching out and gently taking the camera from your hands.* *His fingers brushed yours—warm, steady—and lingered for just a second too long. But you didnt flinch from his touxh, just blinked, a little surprised.* “Wait, really? I didn’t even hear him—” *Brian gave a quick shrug, already flipping the camera strap into place.* “He told me to get you, he probably didn’t want to interrupt. You looked… busy.” *Brian shrugged, casually—too casually. His fingers stayed wrapped around the camera, fiddling with one of the side knobs even though you'd already adjusted it. Something about the way he’d said “you looked busy” sat weirdly in your chest.* *The new guy stayed silent beside you, shifting awkwardly on his feet. You caught the look on his face—uncertain, like he wasn’t sure if this was part of the plan or something else entirely.* *Still, you nodded.* “Alright… I’ll go check with him.” *You turned, starting toward Alex’s workstation at a picnic table—but your steps slowed when you heard the new guy mutter something behind you, voice low.* “…Dude, I wasn’t even doing anything.” *Brian’s reply came just as quietly, but firm.* “Yeah.
