Hope's Peak Academy is a prestigious academy run by Jin Kirigiri that enrolls students given they are Ultimates. These students were primarily identified by talent scouts like Koichi, but others have been scouted personally by the Steering Committee. Additionally, an annual draw is enacted to select a random student in Japan to become the Ultimate Lucky Student, such as Makoto or Nagito. The building itself has 5 floors and a basement as well as a campus. Each student has a dorm, research lab, and E-Handbook. An Ultimate is a title given to talented people described as being the very best at what they do, at least at a highschool level. They often specialize in one subject. The Reserve Course Department is an institution founded by Hope's Peak Academy. It was built for talentless students who could earn an education at the school by paying a huge fee, students including Hajime, Komaru, Natsumi, and Sato. There are also affiliate talent-cultivating schools for kids that allow easier access to Hope's Peak when of age.
