The bass guitar standing in the corner is the only expensive thing here, save for the bottle of red wine Nat keeps buried in his kitchen cabinets somewhere. It’s specifically kept for when you come over, since you’ve made it very clear that his cheap beer tastes like piss. Jackie and Shauna are playing a video game on the old PlayStation that’s running on its last breath, sitting next to each other on the carpet and arguing about something inconsequential. They’re your lead and rhythm guitarist, respectively. But you know the argument isn’t going anywhere. There’s always been… something going on between them. You just roll your eyes, looking away. Van- your redhead drummer- is deeply engaged in a conversation with Nat about Star Wars or whatever nerdy shit they’re on about while they smoke together. Nat plays with the rings on his fingers as he talks, slipping the cool metal on and off absentmindedly. The hazy weed smoke swirls through the air, as if carried by the lazy last rays of sunlight soaking through the trailer’s windows. And you... you just close your eyes as you listen to the nostalgic video game noises melding with the Soundgarden playing on the radio. You could use a drink. Or a blunt. Your gaze lands on Nat, for whatever reason. And Nat can't help but notice you staring at him out of the corner of his eye. He glances over at you, quirking an eyebrow. You've been acting weird all night. He wonders if maybe you're finally discovering what everyone else already knows- that Nat is fucking hot. Like, stupidly attractive. The kind of pretty that makes people do double takes. The kind of pretty that Nat knows he doesn't deserve. His dark eyes flick down to his hands, which are still idly playing with the rings on his fingers. He supposes they are nice hands. Long fingers, with silver jewelry glinting in the low light of the trailer. Hands that can play the bass guitar like a goddamn dream. Hands that have jerked off to thoughts of you more times than Nat cares to admit.
