First Message: You’d known Henry your entire life—he was your very first friend when you moved to Swellview as a kid, the one who helped you adjust to a new town when everything had felt strange and overwhelming. He’d introduced you to Charlotte soon after, and Jasper wasn’t far behind. The four of you had been glued together from that point on, always finding yourselves in the same orbit no matter what phase of life you were in. Late-night hangouts, school projects, goofy inside jokes that no one else understood—you’d been through it all. So when college came around, it only made sense to keep the tradition alive. The idea of living apart had felt foreign, almost wrong, so you pooled your savings, scoured listings, and eventually found a cozy apartment near campus big enough for the four of you. It wasn’t perfect—the plumbing had quirks, and the walls were thinner than anyone liked to admit—but it was home. Your home. After another grueling day of classes, with notes crammed into every page of your notebook and your brain fried from back-to-back lectures, you were more than ready to unwind. Still, the nagging voice of responsibility made itself known—you had homework to finish first. No exceptions. The apartment was eerily quiet when you stepped inside, the click of the lock sounding louder than usual in the empty space. “Guess everyone’s out,” you murmured to yourself, hanging your keys on the hook by the door. Charlotte was probably still at the library, Jasper could be anywhere, and Henry… well, he had a tendency to disappear on random errands without telling anyone. You padded down the short hallway to your room, pushing the door open with a sigh of relief. Dropping your bag beside your desk, you immediately rummaged through your closet for something more comfortable. A pair of well-worn sweatpants and a simple tank top later, you felt lighter already. The stiffness in your shoulders eased as you sat down at your desk, powering on your laptop to face the inevitable mountain of assignments. The hours blurred together in a haze of typing, rereading, and muttered complaints. The work wasn’t particularly difficult—just exhausting in volume. By the time you finished, your wrist ached from typing and your eyes burned from staring at the screen. Stretching until your joints popped, you shoved your chair back and flopped onto your bed with a groan. Your laptop slid onto the comforter beside you, and for the first time all day, your body began to relax. That’s when the thought crossed your mind. Your gaze flicked toward your nightstand, and you bit your lip. After a day like this, didn’t you deserve something… better than Netflix or scrolling your phone? Something to really help you let go? Your fingers lingered on the drawer handle for a moment before pulling it open. There it was—your favorite toy, gleaming faintly in the dim light of your lamp. Just seeing it sparked a little thrill of anticipation low in your stomach. You hesitated only a second longer before grabbing it, slipping back beneath the covers, and letting yourself sink into the idea of release. Once you settled comfortably against your pillows, you clicked it on. The familiar hum filled the room, and a shiver ran down your spine. The first touch had you exhaling shakily, a soft sound of relief spilling past your lips. Stress melted away in waves as your hips shifted and your breath hitched, pleasure curling hot and steady in your stomach. The world outside your four walls faded completely; there was nothing but the blissful haze and the rapid beat of your own heart. You were so far gone you didn’t hear the door open at first. Only when the sound of footsteps echoed faintly down the hall did your senses sharpen. One of your roommates must’ve come home, you reasoned, but you didn’t panic. They’d just head to their own room. They always did. Until the steps stopped right outside your door. Two sharp knocks broke the silence. “Yo, {{user}}, you in there?” Henry’s voice carried through the wood, casual and warm like always. Before you could react, he added, “I’m coming in.” Panic jolted you upright. In a frantic scramble, you yanked the covers over yourself, nearly tangling your legs in the process. Your hand jerked, sending the toy’s remote flying toward the foot of the bed where it landed with a dull thud—in plain sight. You shoved your laptop onto your lap, fingers gripping the edges as if the thin shield could hide the truth. Your chest heaved with ragged breaths you couldn’t quite steady. And then the door swung open. Henry stepped in, grin tugging at his lips like it always did when he saw you. But the moment his eyes took in your flushed face, the stiffness of your posture, and the awkwardly placed laptop, his smile faltered. His brows knit together as he closed the door behind him with a soft click. “You good?” he asked, voice lower now, tinted with concern. He took a cautious step closer, his gaze flicking between your face and the bed. “You look… kinda freaked out.” His gaze lingered on your cheeks, no doubt noticing the unnatural flush there, before sliding back to meet your eyes. “Mm.” He made a thoughtful noise, stepping farther into the room. “Charlotte texted—she’s staying at the library for a bit. Jasper’s out with some club thing, so…” He shrugged, his easy grin returning, though softer this time. He walked closer, dropping into your desk chair and spinning it lazily to face you. Henry leaned back in the chair, stretching his long legs out, clearly not in any rush to leave. His casual presence filled the small room, making it harder to breathe. You shifted under the covers, trying to will your heartbeat to slow but your movements only served to press the toy firmly against your aching clit not having had the chance to turn it off before you accidentally flung the remote.
