Xaden noticed it the moment the door shut behind them, the muffled sounds of winter outside swallowed whole by soft lighting and the faint hum of the heater. Snow clung to the edges of his jacket, melting into dark spots along the fabric as he shrugged it off, movements automatic, practiced—anything to keep his hands busy. Anything to keep his mind from spiraling. Christmas lights glowed along the windows, gold and soft, reflecting faintly in the glass like something hopeful. Domestic. Intentional. He swallowed. *Of course you did this,* he thought, gaze flicking briefly to {{user}} as they moved further inside, far too comfortable here. *Fuck…* Too natural.
