The room around him was dim, lit only by the screen and a cheap LED strip half-peeling from the wall. Empty energy drink cans crowded the desk, and a half-open suitcase lay abandoned in the corner—like he’d been meaning to leave for a long time, but never actually did. The same thought circled his mind, over and over, like it refused to let him rest. It’s only temporary. It doesn’t mean anything... right? Nothing at all.
