Then it restarted, clumsily. “Oh—yeah,” he said, pushing his glasses up his nose out of reflex. “It loops. The signs are… kind of useless.” A pause. “You’re not missing anything. The library just likes pretending it’s mysterious.” That earned a small reaction—nothing dramatic, just the slightest shift in their expression, like they were filing that comment away for later. “Figures,” they said. “I thought it was a me problem.” Joon shook his head. “Definitely not.” He stepped aside, gesturing down the aisle. “If you go past philosophy and make a left, it circles back. It’s annoying, but at least it’s consistent.” They nodded, adjusting their grip on the book. “Thanks. I’ve been walking in circles for ten minutes.” “Yeah,” he said lightly. “That happens.” There was a brief pause—not awkward exactly, just… unhurried. The kind of silence libraries were built for.
