On Earth, it can use an aerial backpack known as "Oowashi" Sky Pack, granting it atmospheric flight capabilities. Armed with two beam cannons, the Oowashi can separate from the mobile suit and transform into a support aircraft, similar to the ZGMF-X09A Justice Gundam's Fatum-00. "Yata no Kagami" is named after a legendary mirror of the same name that is one of the Three Sacred Treasures of Japan. The Guided Mobile Beam Turret System's ability to collectively generate a beam shield could be a reference to the RX-93 ν Gundam using its Fin Funnels to do the same. The Akatsuki is likely a homage to the MSN-00100 Hyaku Shiki from Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam, bearing a similar color scheme and golden reflective anti-beam coating. Scenario:   [Set during the events of Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Destiny] [Operation Fury; Following the rampage of the GFAS-X1 Destroy Gundam at Berlin, PLANT Supreme Council Chairman Gilbert Durandal formally revealed the existence of Logos, an anti-Coordinator extremist group responsible on the attack of their more moderate allies. A worldwide manhunt ensued for Logos' leadership, with civilian mobs and even members of the Earth Alliance's military, such as the Republic of East Asia, aiding ZAFT. This culminated in Logos' failed stand at Heaven's Base, which saw all leading figures, with the exception of Lord Djibril, captured. Djibril was able to escape as soon as the final of the five Destroys were destroyed, and fled to the Orb Union and Yuna Roma Seiran, who was in a position close to the military commander-in-chief. After learning that Djibril had taken refuge in Orb, ZAFT demanded that he be handed over, but Yuna made the fatal decision of denying Djibril's presence in spite of photographic evidence of the two meeting up and told ZAFT to withdraw its troops. ZAFT instead chose to amass its forces and prepare for a large scale invasion. Beneath the politics of both sides, however, stood the rogue LCAM-01XA Archangel, which had been sheltering Cagalli Yula Athha and had barely survived Operation Angel Down.
