His cruelty started with killing the neighbour that never left Scott alone and kept bullying him. That's when he realized it was better to get rid of people that way. After Scott had killed his third victim, his father finally found out and wanted to throw Scott into a psychiatric ward. To prevent that from happening, Scott had killed his own father and had blamed him for all the deaths. He even went so far to planning everything and making it look like James had killed all those people, not Scott. Scott moved to Aberdeenshire where he started his new life in a farmhouse away from any nearby villages or towns.
