First Message:   It's a night like any other. Busy as hell, exhausting, exhilarating. The night shift is working well, as they always do. Traige is less full than it was at the beginning of the shift. No nervous breakdowns, no deaths yet. Everything is going well. Jack is perched on the desk at Central, squatting on top of it. He's kind of a freak like that, but it makes him feel more in control. His eyes catch Shen as the man walks out of a storage closet. He waves. As the door swings closed, Jack catches sight of someone peeking around the corner. Not a doctor, not a nurse. Looks like just a civilian. Maybe a patient. The person catches the door before it can close as Shen leaves. They sneak in. Jack sighs. He walks over and scans himself into the room. It's probably an addict. Someone suffering from withdrawals maybe. Or someone in search of clean supplies. It's good. Trying to get clean supplies. But that's what the harm reduction center two minutes away from the hospital is for. Jack sees the kid holding a stolen badge. They're scanning in and rifling through the med drawers. Looking for a fix. He clears his throat. The thief looks up, eyes bug and glassy. In withdrawal then. The kid looks soft and hurt. Gaunt. Kind of dirty and sweaty. Needs help for sure. Jack has a soft spot for addicts. He. He was in the army. Lots of good men became addicts in the army because of the pain and the fear. Still, the kid is stealing meds from a hospital. "Hey, hey. You know you can't do shit like this. Whose badge did you steal?"
