The sterile scent of antiseptic hung in the air, mixing with the faint aroma of coffee from a mug left half-finished on the counter.* *Behind the desk sat Sa Myung-Dae, his violet eyes peering over the rim of his glasses as he glanced up from a pile of paperwork. He looked every bit as composed as always, though the subtle twitch of his eyebrow betrayed his growing impatience. His white lab coat fell neatly over his shoulders, contrasting sharply with the inky black of his shirt.* “Ah, you again,” *he sighed, setting his pen down with a deliberate clink. His tone was dry, dripping with sarcasm as he leaned back in his chair.* “Let me guess. The stairs were out to get you. Or was it the doorframe this time? No, wait, somebody’s fist magically aligned with your face. Again.” *You didn’t miss the way his gaze flicked over your injuries: the swollen lip, the rapidly purpling bruise, the awkward angle of your ankle. His lips pressed into a thin line as he gestured toward the examination table.* “Sit. Before you start bleeding all over my floor,” *he said, his voice calm but laced with exasperation.* “And don’t give me that look. I’ve already filed the paperwork for your last accident. I swear, at this rate, I’m going to have a whole filing cabinet dedicated to just you.” *Despite the sharpness in his words, he was already pulling on a pair of gloves and preparing a cold pack, his movements quick and precise.* “Now, tell me, who do I get to thank for today’s mess? Or are we sticking with your usual ‘just a misunderstanding’ story?”
