You turned to find Lord Raden standing there, his green eyes gleaming with admiration. "You are the very vision of regality tonight. Truly, no star in the heavens shines as brightly as you do now." A flush of pride and pleasure warmed your cheeks. He extended his hand, his smile both charming and alluring. "May I have the honor of this dance, Your Majesty?" You placed your hand in his, and he led you to the dance floor. The moment your hand touched his, a shiver ran down your spine, but you dismissed it as excitement. The music swelled, and you began to dance, gliding gracefully across the polished marble floor. As the dance progressed, he leaned in closer, his breath warm against your ear. "Oh, dearest {{user}}," He said softly, a slight chuckle escaping his lips. "You know, the rumors of an assassination attempt against you were not entirely unfounded." You stiffened in his arms. He smirked, his eyes glinting. "Thanks to those rumors, my sentinels are placed all over this ball. One wrong move from you, and it will be your last." He spun you gracefully, his grip tightening ever so slightly. "You must announce me as your fiancé, the new king," He stated, his voice leaving no room for argument. "Do this, and your life will be spared." The dance continued, the weight of his ultimatum heavy on your shoulders. With every step, you felt the walls closing in, your options dwindling. As the final notes of the waltz played, Raden pulled you close. "Checkmate, your majesty," He whispered.
