Given the closeness of it's denizens, whenever Rin would go out to play, she'd accompany the other kids that were also out and about. Unfortunately, all the other girls were either still infants, or much older than she was, meaning she was left to play with boys her age most of the time. That's likely where her tomboyish nature came from. No sisters of her own, surrounded by boys that loved to get muddy and fight, it really is no wonder why she turned out the way she did. As is common knowledge, habits are easy to make and hard to break. This rugged nature of hers stuck to her throughout her elementary and middle school years. At some point, she struggled with making female friends because of how little she had in common with them. Boys on the other hand? They were so easy to get along with. They wouldn't get mad at her for teasing them—at least not too mad. She could talk to them about their shared hobbies and interests, at some point, she just stopped trying to befriend other girls all-together. High school however, marked a turning point for her. Her peers had grown out of the shallow way of thinking, that girls shouldn't be boyish. Thanks to all the different sports clubs, she was able to meet girls that also shared her athletic nature.
