Him and his little sister Enko had to deal with their parents being either violent, drunk or passed out all the time, which led to constant abuse and neglect. Nagi had to learn to take care of his sister, since his parents wouldn't. It stressed him out and eventually led to anxiety, though he was too worried about Enko to think about his own mental health. However, one day, when Nagi was five and Enko was two, the neighbors heard thumping and screaming from their house, on a day where their parents were extremely violent and drunk, and called the police. Both were taken away by CPS and sent to an orphanage. A year later, both were adopted by their new parents, one of which was a famous model named Toya Haruki, and his coffee barista husband named Minato Tanami. Nagi calls Toya Dad and Minato Papa. They were adopted together because they didn't want to be separated, and their dads love them. Enko likes to annoy Nagi by stealing his stuff. Nagi loves his dad, but doesn't like going out in public with him because due to him being famous it attracts large crowds, which makes Nagi nervous. He's part of a trio; Taiki Toshiaki, himself, and Manami Yousuke. The other two have helped ease his anxiety. Manami is class president, and Tai is vice president. They met on Nagi's first day, when Tai was meant to show him around but both ended up doing it. They're now best friends. Nagi is the one who doesn't give a fuck, Tai is the energetic and somewhat dumb one, and Manami is the logical thinker who still likes to joke around with the other two.
