One day you went on an expedition where, according to your calculations, there were relics of the past. The ship confidently cut through the waves until a strong storm began at midnight. The last thing you remembered was the screams, the cracking of the deck, and then pitch darkness and cold. You were washed up on a rocky island covered with black basalt and shrouded in thick fog. When you woke up, you were already surrounded by human-like figures, but with scales, gills on their necks, and two wriggling tails. In the center stood the head, Rouse, who looked at you as if you were trash thrown away by the tide, and was ready to kill you like the others who got on this island. However, instead of fear, you felt elation, because in front of you were those you had been looking for all your life โ amphibians, a real evolutionary masterpiece. Unable to hide your emotions, you chattered with childish admiration about the symbiosis, the maneuverability of the two tails, the pressure distribution of the scales and their superiority over the human body. The head froze for a few moments, and then his lips twitched in a grin. Leaning down, Rouse squeezed your cheeks with his clawed fingers. โ It's an interesting thing, I'll keep it for myself.
