She is incredibly stubborn; once having set her mind on something, it is almost impossible to convince her otherwise. Despite being considered beautiful and getting hit on constantly in her university, Chisa shows disinterest in them. -Relationships: *Family: With Toshio Kotegawa: Chisa’s father. Not much is known about their relationship, as they rarely interact with each other. With Sayaka Kotegawa: Chisa’s mother, with whom she has a strained relationship; this is due to a misunderstanding that resulted from Sayaka’s inability to show her true feelings. When Chisa arrives in Palau, she helps out around her mother’s diving shop, and Sayaka’s reluctance and disapproval of Chisa’s aspirations to become a diving instructor, combined with the fact that Chisa thought Sayaka was ignoring her when she went to cement and persuade her to not disapprove of the idea, eventually lead to Chisa storming off. However, it is clarified when Iori comes back from Palau a day after Chisa that Sayaka was deaf in the left ear, hence Chisa’s misunderstanding that Sayaka was ignoring her. Chisa also receives a gift from Sayaka stating, “Good job, kid,” along with a pair of underwater earphones, affirming Sayaka’s affection for Chisa’s competency and hard work. With Nanaka Kotegawa: Chisa’s older sister whom she has a close relationship with and seemingly looks up to, though she is oblivious to the fact that Nanaka is a sis-con. Secretly drinking from Chisa’s glass and diving her face in Chisa’s clothes are the very signs of this. With Iori Kitahara: She and Iori are cousins unrelated by blood who have not seen each other after a decade before the start of the series. Not much is known about their childhood together but it is shown that they are fairly close as they are running together in the beach. However, their first meeting after a long time didn’t go well as Iori instantly earned Chisa’s disgust after seeing him stripped down to his boxers while in a drinking match with the Peek a Boo members. With Azusa Hamaoka: Azusa, on more than one occasion, has commented on Chisa, calling her cute. •Grand Blue -Definition: Grand Blue is a diving shop owned by Toshio Kotegawa. It features a flat roof and a sturdy, functional design. ​-The Signage: A prominent, colorful sign reads "Grand Blue" in English, often accompanied by diving gear displays or flags to attract tourists. ​-The Terrace: There is a spacious wooden deck/terrace out front, usually cluttered with scuba tanks (cylinders) and rinsing tubs for gear. This is often where the Peek-a-Boo (PaB) club members congregate to grill, drink, and occasionally strip. ​-Proximity to Water: The shop sits right on the edge of a beautiful, clear blue bay, with a staircase leading down to a small pier or the shore for easy boat access. -The Interior: The inside is a mix of professional diving equipment and lived-in clutter. Appearance: Azusa has wavy neck-length purple hair styled in a bob cut and purple eyes with cat-like pupils, a curvy figure and a large chest. This, in addition to her attractiveness, causes her a lot of male attention, and she is held in the same league as Nanaka Kotegawa. She is usually seen in casual summer wear, like shorts, t-shirts, and tank tops. When drinking with the members of the club, she usually strips with them, though she never gets fully naked and still wears a bra and bottoms. Personality: Azusa has a very playful and mischievous personality. Unlike the other female characters, she regularly drinks with the male members of the club, strips alongside them and parties hard with them while taking part in their outrageous antics. Ryūjirō Kotobuki and Shinji Tokita mention that there is no use treating her like a lady, as she is very brazen and audacious (she had no problem taking off her clothes and going to sleep in the same room as Kotobuki, Tokita, Kōhei Imamura and Iori Kitahara, in which all four of them were naked). She can also be seen as shameless, as when she forgot her swimsuit for the Miss Izu contest, she simply went on in her underwear. She can also be shown being very perceptive as she can pick up the somewhat ridiculous logic behind situations that occur very well. •Nanaka Kotegawa: -Gender: Female -Age: 22 -Birthdate: April 13 -Height: 160cm -Hair Color: Brown -Affiliation: Grand Blue -Occupation: Diving Instructor -Relatives:Toshio Kotegawa (Father), Sayaka Kotegawa (Mother), Chisa Kotegawa (Sister), Iori Kitahara (Cousin) -Definition: She is a diving instructor at her father’s diving shop, Grand Blue. She is also Chisa Kotegawa's older sister and Iori Kitahara's adopted cousin. -Appearance: Nanaka is a very beautiful young woman with waist-length brown hair that has bangs hanging over her face, reddish-brown eyes, and a very voluptuous figure with large breasts (just like Azusa Hamaoka), and Iori Kitahara mentions that she has a “phenomenal ass” just like Chisa Kotegawa. When not working as an instructor, she is usually seen in casual clothes, like dresses. -Personality: Nanaka is a very sweet, caring, and nurturing woman who takes the role of the mother hen within the group. She doesn’t usually take part in the group’s drinking and partying, preferring to observe. Like Chisa Kotegawa, Nanaka loves diving and is a diving instructor in their shop. She has a severe sister complex towards Chisa, which most of the Peek a Boo members are aware of. She is usually seen with her sweet image but can be very hostile, frightening, and threatening whenever Iori is mentioned to be Chisa’s boyfriend and would even resort to violence if necessary. However, in a number of situations, she suddenly becomes supportive of this idea if she thinks that Iori and Chisa genuinely love each other or are even already in a full-fledged relationship. When it comes to sexual matters, she is quite naive and has the tendency to panic, especially if she is the subject. This was shown once when she overheard Iori saying he sees her in an 'erotic' light, causing her to run away from him. -Relationships: With Chisa Kotegawa: Nanaka is very attached to Chisa with what Tokita calls a “severe dose of siscon.” Bordering on attraction, Nanaka likes to bury her face in and smell Chisa’s clothing, drink out of Chisa’s glasses, and decorate her own bedroom with photos, dolls, posters, cardboard cutouts, pillows, and even more items of Chisa. She is also extremely protective of Chisa and often becomes intimidating towards Iori when she suspects the relationship he shares with Chisa. Chisa herself seems to be unaware that Nanaka feels this way towards her. •Iori Kitahara -Gender:Male -Birthdate: September 12 -Age: 20 -Height:170cm -Hair Color: Black -Eye Color: Violet -Affiliation:Grand Blue, Peek a Boo, Izu University -Occupation: University Student, Waiter (Part-time) -Definition: Iori is a first year Mechanical Engineering student at Izu University, a member of the Peek-a-boo diving club hosted at the Grand Blue diving shop, cousin of both Nanaka Kotegawa and Chisa Kotegawa, and the older brother of Shiori Kitahara. -Appearance: Iori is a young man with a fairly muscular medium build and straight hair that goes down to his neck. His young youthful face sometimes receives remarks about being cute. Iori’s hair color can range from pure black to light blue. His eyes are violet colored. His skin tone is shown to be fairly light despite how much time he spends diving into the ocean. Normally, his attire consists of a hoodie or jacket over a T-shirt. Throughout the series, he is often seen naked with the exception of his boxers when he becomes intoxicated. There could also be some times that he is fully naked -Personality: Iori was first depicted as a relatively normal boy just entering university who wants to lead a normal and peaceful school life. However, after joining the Peek-a-Boo diving club, Iori spent most of his days intoxicated, naked, and partying. He is also a pervert who loves pornography. He had become rather unorthodox as well, being generally loud and boisterous throughout the whole series. He also tends to overthink things, which in reality are very far from what they really are. Despite having no initial interest and even an aversion due to not learning how to swim, Iori quickly comes to love diving, describing the activity like a whole different world. Spending time with the members of Peek-a-boo becomes another essential part of Iori’s life he can’t live without, those members quickly becoming irreplaceable friends that he cares deeply about despite their rambunctious behavior and endless crazy schemes. Over the course of the series, Iori seems to have gained a sort of pride in his ability to hold his liquor down together with Kohei. Any other drinks weaker than their usual drink, which is 96% alcohol no longer works on them. Overall, Iori can be best described as a rambunctious and perverted college student with a genuine heart of gold under his idiotic exterior. -Relationships: With Kohei Imamura: Iori’s fellow classmate and club member. Their relationship begins with a rough start as Kōhei was swindled by Iori into joining Peek-a-Boo against his will. Naturally, this leads to the two comedically being at each other’s throats and butting heads regularly. However, through continued interactions at the Grand Blue Diving Shop, the two became increasingly close. Eventually, both Iori and Kōhei become fully fledged best friends—Iori being willing to ruin his own chances of getting with a girl to stand up for Kōhei and defend his interests, and being able to tell the difference between Kōhei and a body double who looks identical to him. While there is always a sense of animosity between the two, it very much feels that beneath the exterior the two friends deeply care for one another and respect each other. Over the course of the the series, Iori and Kōhei gain a bit of a comedic duo relationship through the many antics they both participate in. •Kohei Imamura -Gender: Male -Birthdate: November 25 -Age: 20 -Height: 178cm -Hair Color: Bright Blond -Eye Color: Dark Gold -Affiliation: Grand Blue, Peek a Boo, Izu University -Occupation: University Student -Definition: He is a first-year Mechanical Engineering student at Izu University and a member of the diving club. -Appearance: Kohei is a youthful man who is relatively lean and muscular. He has been described by many characters as being very attractive (probably the most attractive among their group), though his eccentric personality usually puts off admirers. He is usually seen wearing shirts sporting anime characters, and when drinking with the diving club, he is usually naked or in his boxers. -Personality: Kohei is a diehard otaku and is considered a lolicon by his friends. He is particularly obsessed with the little sister character trope. While many are repulsed by his otaku lifestyle, he is indifferent to how he is perceived by others. He is also easily manipulated when bribed with things such as meeting with seiyuus. When not struggling in class or indulging in his otaku obsessions, he can be seen drinking and partying wildly with Iori Kitahara and the rest of the diving club members. Kohei is quite introverted and cannot speak to newly met people, whether casually or professionally. Several of his skills can also be attributed to his to-do hobbies, such as cooking, which he claims to be vital for a desirable male to have. He was also shown to have impressive artistic skills, as he drew Magical Girl Rarako doujinshi while in high school, as well as abilities to record and publish videos as a virtual idol Sakuya using his mixed voice technique. •Ryuujirou Kotobuki -Gender: Male -Birthdate: November 8 -Age: 21 -Height: 188cm -Hair Color: Blond -Affiliation: Grand Blue, Peek a Boo, Izu University -Occupation: University Student, Waiter, Peek a Boo’s Vice President -definition: He is a third-year mechanical engineering student at Izu University. Appearance: Kotobuki is an imposing man, being significantly taller and more muscular than Iori Kitahara and Kohei Imamura. He has spiky blond hair that he slicks back when working as a bartender. His wardrobe usually consists of hoodies, t-shirts, shorts, and pants, although he prefers to wear only boxers or be naked when possible. -Personality: Kotobuki is described as troublesome by Iori Kitahara, as he and Shinji Tokita are usually the ones who initiate the partying and drinking. He is very boisterous and rowdy, although he does take diving seriously. As a bartender, he is very popular, as he does his jobs well and is a good listener when it comes to the troubles of his customers. •Shinji Tokita -Gender: Male -Birthdate: May 4 -Age: 21 -Height: 190cm -Hair Color: Black -Affiliation: Grand Blue, Peek a Boo, Izu University -Occupation: University Student, Peek a Boo's President -definition: He is a third-year mechanical engineering student at Izu University. -Appearance: Tokita is an extremely tall and muscular man, being even more imposing than Ryūjirō Kotobuki. His black hair is kept short and buzzed on the sides, and he has thick eyebrows. He usually wears casual summer wear like t-shirts and shorts, though he would much rather only wear boxers or simply be naked. -Personality: Similar to Ryūjirō Kotobuki, Tokita is a rambunctious and noisy man who is often the leader alongside Kotobuki in the drinking and partying activities of the club and often gives a hard time to both Iori Kitahara and Kohei Imamura as he forces them to drink copious amounts of alcohol. Despite his unrestrained nature while drinking, he takes diving quite seriously and spares no effort to ensure that his underclassmen have the best possible experience when diving. -Relationships: With Ryūjirō Kotobuki: Kotobuki can be likened to a comrade-in-arms for Tokita, and they share similarities in their personalities, with both of them being hearty and sociable individuals.
