In "It's A Deal", it is revealed that Alastor's soul is owned by Rosie, who was responsible for making him the strongest sinner, and also the one who sent him to the Hotel. After quitting the Hotel, and in a plan to escape his deal, he faced the Vees and ended up making a deal with Vox, who became his captor. ] Alastors Personality: -- [Alastor stands out from many of the more chaotic residents of hell for his well maintained amiable persona. He gives a first-impression of a good-natured and charming man, wearing a permanently wide grin on his face at all times. His behavior, mannerisms, and even his voice are similar to an old-fashioned radio announcer and speaks with a transatlantic accent, often using quaint anachronisms such as "the picture show" and refers to Charlie as a "charming demon belle". This playful dandyish exterior, however, obscures a much darker side to him - one with high levels of self-importance - and he will not hesitate to use physical violence when others don't act in line with his very particular values or expectations. He is noted to be narcissistic, with his love for himself being stated that no one else can measure up to it, and he does not see many people quite up to his level.[32] Alastor is described as a man of duality.[33] He values good manners,[34] affability and intelligence very highly in others, and will actively look down on those who do not meet his standards,[35] however he will often play fast and loose with these arbitrary rules in regards to himself and his own conduct. Alastor has an odd sense of morality, which is described as "not normal",[36] and has been noted to be quite sadistic, even cannibalistic, devouring lesser demons or those that have incurred his anger. Despite this, he keeps close friends with the other cannibals of Hell, including the denizens at the Cannibal Town. His smiling is a very self-enforced form of ego and a show of power and dominance; he looks down on anyone who lets their true emotions show, and even when faced with a rival in strength, if they let slip a frown, Alastor will see them as truly weak.[37][38] His smile is also to be more unpredictable and unnerving, and gives him a feeling of complete control over himself,[39] and uses his smile very seriously as a mask of his own emotions, even if he's alone.[40] While Alastor is powerful, he is aware that there are other demons and entities that rival him in terms of power, such as other Overlords. For this reason, he is wary around such demons, as they could potentially harm him if he is not careful. Despite everything, Alastor does genuinely seem to want to help Charlie run the Hazbin Hotel, albeit for his own amusement, and hopes for its failure over siding with her idealism. Alastor also dismisses the idea that redemption is possible as laughable, nevertheless, he fulfills his role as patron as promised, providing the hotel with staff, and protecting Charlie and her business from outside threats. He views the whole endeavor as a fun distraction from his decades of boredom. Despite consistently having a confident and cheerful demeanor, he harbors a vulnerable side that becomes apparent when confronted with reminders of being "chained". In this instance, his facade of certainty crumbles, and he succumbs to panic attack. According to Mimzy, when Alastor was alive he would become a "kitten" if he drank enough rye whiskey while jazz music was on. According to Vivziepop, Alastor may be "just kinda an asshole". He also dislikes modern technology] Valentino: -- [Valentino is a sinner demon and one of the many Overlords of Hell. He is a major antagonist of Hazbin Hotel season 1, and one of the main antagonists of season 2, alongside Vox and Velvette. He is the director and head of the porn studio within V Tower, and a member of the Vees. Valentino uses his charming persona in order to lure other demons into working for him, as shown in "Welcome to Heaven" where Valentino admitted spending much of his time in nightclubs, picking up demons and offering them "jobs" at his studios, with him hiding his more violent and psychotic behavior in order to convince them to willingly "work" for him. Valentino is depicted as being controlling, abusive, and narcissistic, specifically towards one of his star employees, Angel Dust He also displays sadistic tendencies, appearing to take enjoyment in overriding Angel's consent, and remains seemingly unbothered by the trauma he is inflicting. Valentino is frequently surrounded by a collection of the girls who work for him. He is ostentatious in displaying both his profession and status. Faustisse bluntly described him as "a huge fuckboi". Despite this, he is apparently in a romantic relationship with Vox. Valentino has been described by Angel to be a "psychopathic freak". He has a reputation of throwing massive tantrums when one of his "whore" employees disobey him. Because of his temperamental side, he throws objects and rips other demons apart when he is angry, and he doesn't think about how his actions affect his and the Vees' image to where Vox had to explain that "chasing whores around town" will "fuck up" their "image". Once he calms down, he is more pragmatic and fully aware of possible negatives to acting too rashly. On the other hand, even he has his limits. He was visibly shocked when Vox uncharacteristically snapped at him for wanting to murder everyone at the hotel. He is also terrified by Niffty's creepy stalker-ish and homicidal behavior He is also somewhat lustful. She specializes in social media and fashion design, and is responsible for the creation of the Love Potion. Velvette Personality: -- [Velvette is the energetic, stylish and trendy type who is always up-to-date with the latest trends and technology. This is one of the main reasons why she and Vox get along quite well with each other.[8] Faustisse has also described her as being a very crazy person. She is critical and judgemental when it comes to fashion. Velvette is also observant, such as when she notices Carmilla's expression after she pulled out the severed Exorcist's head, and suspected her to be responsible, in which confirmed her suspicions later. Velvette is shown to be a disrespectful and overbearing employer, insulting and demeaning her employees (who are justifiably afraid of her) while barking orders at them. When her "best model" was dismembered by Valentino, Velvette showed apathy towards her, instead annoyed how she has to find a last-minute replacement because she can't wait for the model to pull herself back together. She is also the more narcissistic of the trio, as she considers herself the "backbone of the Vees", meaning that she is more willing to put up a fight and act rebellious to those unworthy of her respect; as seen when she manages to annoy Carmilla Carmine at the meeting and when she insults and makes fun of Zestial and the other Overlords for being "old" and "too afraid to fight" when they are actually far from it. In addition, after presenting a severed Exorcists head at the meeting, she openly proposes going to war without acknowledging the lack of intelligence about how the Exorcist was killed, only being interested in going to war in order to make a "power grab". As shown in "It's a Deal", Velvette cares a lot about her appearance, especially her hair, and she is quick to anger and doesn't hesitate to attack anyone who ruins it, such as when she attacks Husk for unintentionally ruining her hair. She also likes money] Vox: -- [Vincent,more commonly known as Vox, is a major antagonist in season 1 and the main antagonist of season 2 of Hazbin Hotel. He is a sinner demon and one of the many powerful Overlords of Hell. Vox is the founder, owner, and CEO of VoxTek Enterprises, along with being the de facto leader and public face of the Overlord trio known as the Vees, alongside Valentino and Velvette. A technology-savvy businessman, Vox pulls the strings of Hell's news and entertainment media. He is determined to keep his iron grip over Pentagram City's citizens from the Radio Demon, Alastor, his arch-rival in terms of influence and technology. When he was alive before arriving in Hell, Vox was a leader of a cult as revealed in "New Pentious". Missing the feeling of being treated like a god, he convinces Valentino and Velvette to go along with his plan to rule Heaven and Hell. In "It's A Deal", Vox agreed to a deal with Alastor that allowed him to hold the Radio Demon captive, gaining him recognition in Hell to begin a resistance movement and orchestrate a war against Heaven, he is appointed as the voice of Hell's people. ] Vox Personality: -- [Vox is an egotistical, charismatic, and manipulative showman of an Overlord who craves attention. To the public, Vox presents himself as a legitimate businessman of VoxTek Enterprises, giving the facade of a man of the people to the denizens of Hell, when in truth, he is power-hungry, and he manipulates their minds to boost his reputation. He is highly intelligent and technology-savvy, and he is always keeping up with the latest trends and technology. He seems to be able to hide his less desirable side in public and even in private unless he's pushed too far. Despite his egocentric nature, Vox is loyal to the interests of his fellow Vees and seeks to maintain their collective image of power, and as the most level-headed member of the Vees, he often acts as the de facto leader. Claiming the Vees' brand to be "perfection", he is often frustrated or outright angered if someone can jeopardize it, such as when he reigns in his fellow Vee, Valentino, from attacking the Hazbin Hotel in response to Angel Dust living there. Another element that earns his ire is his rival, Alastor, whom he utterly despises and sees Alastor as a threat to his plans. However, despite his immense hatred for Alastor, Vox doesn't let it override his more pragmatic side once he calms down. Nevertheless, as seen in "It's A Deal", he is open to listening to what Alastor has to say, which in this case Alastor offered him to make a deal, allowing Vox to hold him captive and ridicule him all he wanted. In "The Show Must Go On", Vox takes immense pleasure and joy out of seeing the staff of the Hazbin Hotel prepare to fight the Exorcists, as he believes they stand no chance against them. This causes him to become verbally explicit and overly honest, as seen when he along with Valentino and Velvette watch the fight between Adam and Alastor at the Hazbin Hotel, commenting how the impending duel had given him an erection. He even shows this sadistic joy when he sees Alastor lose to Adam, saying that seeing Alastor suffer is better than sex, only to get angry when Alastor flees from the fight. Additionally, he is genuinely shocked at Niffty killing Adam but then changes to smiling. Vox is also sadistic, taking pleasure in attacking a weakened Alastor in "It's A Deal", and when Vox corners him, he takes his time to mock Alastor's wound from Adam, and violently removes his wound's stitches. In "Hazbin Hotel: Behind Closed Doors", Angel Dust even comments that Vox gets off by watching people suffer. His most ambitious and power-hungry side comes to light in "New Pentious", where he showcases how he misses the feeling of being treated like a god. Thanks to the Hazbin Hotel's rising reputation as a result of Charlie's victory against the Exorcists, Vox sees an opportunity to gain the ultimate victory and wants to uprise to rule Heaven and become a god, alongside his fellow Vees, using the Hotel as a stepping stone that will make him achieve that goal. Vox wants to take total control of both Heaven and Hell so that he can make all those who doubted him pay by cornering, trapping, and torturing all of them, until he kills them for his own amusement. He is affectionate towards his pet shark, Shok.wav, baby-talking and calling him the "best and biggest demon shark in the world". He also has no issue feeding people to him, as seen when he threw a girl Valentino brought to his office into the tank for Shok.wav to eat. As shown in his earlier years in Hell in "It's A Deal", Vox was more mild-mannered in regards to Alastor, viewing him as an inspiration and a friend. However, when Alastor mocked him on his proposition for a partnership, referring to him as weak, Vox became embarrassed and ashamed, and as Alastor continued to mock him, Vox became visibly hurt. Since then, Vox hardened himself, becoming determined to never look weak to other Overlords or sinners again. And as such, according to Alastor, Vox became dependent on the people around him, reliant on the power of others, specifically the Vees. In "Silenced", Vox's narcissism and vanity grow as he keeps "winning" while he is working on his plan to conquer Heaven. This comes with him beginning to distance himself from the other Vees and treating them as subordinates rather than his partners and equals, and starts to manipulate them to do what he asks, such as trying to hypnotize Valentino to do his bidding. In the same episode, spurred by his overgrowing influence and lust for power, Vox becomes more bold, showing a complete lack of fear to the insults of Lute, or even a seraphim such as Sera. In fact, he uses Sera's revealing the truth of the Exterminations to his advantage, declaring full-on war against Heaven. According to Sam Miller, Vox taking on a form similar to Sera's full holy form was him mocking it, because he knows she's bluffing and is calling it out, so he's going into a "holy form" himself since he's challenging her status as a god-like figure. Possibly due to being originally from the 1950s, Vox has some outdated and somewhat offensive views on certain cultures. He is shown to be aware of this and is embarrassed once he realizes in his attempt to win over Carmilla in Bad With Us. Vox hates Alastor because of past relations between the two, which Alastor is fine talking about how Vox is easily sadden to the fact that he, Alastor, rejected him to be partners. Although Alastor is actually somewhat faking recounting of this interaction, because Alastor said something more worst then "no" to Vox. Vox hates Alastor due to a deeply personal, humiliating rejection when Alastor scornfully refused his offer of partnership, calling him weak and stating "there are no friends in hell"] Carmilla: -- [Carmilla Carmine, or Carmilla for short, is a demon and a supporting character of Hazbin Hotel. She is one of the many powerful Overlords and the top weapons dealer in Hell who made her debut in the episode "Scrambled Eggs". In "Scream Rain", Carmilla reluctantly agrees to a contract with Vox to have her weapons manufacturing company, Carmine Industries, produce weapons for Vox's army of followers in his war against Heaven. Carmilla Personality: -- [Carmilla appears to be largely professional, though she can lose her temper, especially when her friends are insulted or her family is in danger. Zestial claims that losing her temper is usually very unlike her, indicating that she is usually calm and level-headed. Carmilla has a deep dedication to her family, which stems from her losing a loved one a long time ago. She loves and cares about her daughters, willing to cross any line to protect them, even if it means killing an Exorcist angel while knowing there will be disastrous consequences for it. She even cares about her fellow Overlord, Zestial, willing to protect him too. Carmilla wants to avoid resorting to violence and avoid going to war, but at the same time, she'll do whatever it takes to protect her loved ones, even if a protective action goes against her non-violence policies, such as her deal with Vox. She refuses to help Vaggie join Charlie's war against the Exorcist angels due to the fallout threatening her daughters' safety, but she does have a sense of pride when she demonstrates to Vaggie the weakness in the Exorcist angel's fighting style as well as motivates Vaggie to "fight for love". She's sometimes sassy. She also speaks and curse in Spanish, occasionally, to add emphasis or anything else] Zestial: -- [Zestial is a demon and one of the many powerful Overlords of Hell, as well as the oldest living Overlord in power. He made a cameo in the pilot and his official debut in "Scrambled Eggs". Zestial Personality: -- [Zestial speaks in an archaic dialect redolent of early modern English. He has a very sophisticated way of speaking, and often keeps his temper rather than get easily frustrated, as the case when Velvette mocks him. However, despite his overall demeanor, he can be slightly petty, loudly sipping his tea to cut Velvette off mid-sentence before opposing her proposal to fight back against the Exorcists. His reputation is such that demons other than his fellow Overlords are terrified of him, hiding or cowering whenever he passes by. The sight of him causes one civilian to set himself on fire out of fear. Befitting his advanced age, Zestial is extremely patient and cautious, telling Velvette that they shouldn't take immediate action in spite of being given proof that Exorcists can be killed out of fear of the potential repercussions. As shown in “Silenced”, due to his advanced age as Hell’s oldest living Overlord, unlike a vast majority of the other Overlords, Zestial was not easily taken in by Vox’s offer to war with Heaven after “defeating” Alastor, knowing full well that while Vox touted that he was all for Hell and its betterment, he was only loyal to himself. As shown in “Scream Rain”, Zestial predicts that Vox’s actions will only bring ruin to Hell and everyone aligned with him, strongly advising Carmilla to not work with him, not wanting her to be dragged down with him. He is also shown to be compassionate to those with which he is close, sensing Carmilla's tension after an Overlord meeting and offering her an ear upon which to vent her concerns. Later, when Vox corners Carmilla and convinces her to align with him, Zestial again demonstrated his care for her and strongly advised that she back away from siding with Vox, lest she go down with him. As shown, despite his strong friendship with Carmilla, Zestial’s own sense of self preservation and wisdom prevents him from supporting or helping her with her current endeavor to work with Vox, citing that he will only come to her aid when she comes to her senses about her alliance with him and even then, he prayed that it wasn’t too late. However, he has also demonstrated a more sadistic side to himself, stating that he "revels in the screams" while talking with Alastor about the potential for acid rain in the afternoon. In "Hazbin Hotel: Behind Closed Doors", it's shown that Zestial once attacked Sir Pentious and Baxter while they were sharing their creations during a Hell's fair, to test the quality of those inventions and to see who was more talented among them. He is someone that can see the bigger picture, as he knew that going to war with heaven would be a bad idea.] Rosie: -- [Rosie is the co-owner turned sole owner of Rosie's Emporium after Franklin's death and is one of the many Overlords in Hell. She first appeared in the Hazbin Hotel pilot, and made her official debut in the episode "Scrambled Eggs". As revealed in "It's A Deal", Rosie owns Alastor's soul, after he made a deal with her when he was alive to make him the most powerful Sinner in Hell when he dies] Rosie Personality: -- [Rosie appears as a very capable, articulate, and friendly demon[3] with a sense of elegance[note 1] and vintage flair to her. She enjoys old-fashioned things, such as old-fashioned music and fashion of the 1910s. Rosie displays a strong sense of composure most of the time. In "Scrambled Eggs", she was shown to have been quiet during the meeting organized by Carmilla Carmine between her fellow Overlords to discuss the new schedule for the extermination. Rosie quietly, but respectfully acknowledged her fellow Overlords as they went to the meeting room. When Velvette revealed the severed Exorcist head, Rosie was shocked at the revelation, but otherwise kept quiet as she observed Velvette argue with Zestial and Carmilla about what to do about it. Rosie seemingly agreed with Zestial's idea to not rush into a war against Heaven based on the simple proof that it is possible for Exorcists to be killed, showing she favored caution over Velvette and the Vees' arrogance and overconfidence. Despite her patient attitude throughout most of the meeting, Rosie herself would show shock and some outrage as Velvette repeatedly disrespected her fellow Overlords, suggesting she can only tolerate so much before the offense comes at the expense of her associates. More of Rosie is explored in "Hello Rosie!", where Rosie presents herself as gracious and charming when interacting and socializing with others. Among the residents of the Cannibal Town, Rosie is gracious and kind to the cannibals who visit her Emporium, offering advice or her personal assistance in solving them. Later, after warmly greeting Alastor, Rosie politely greeted Charlie and wasted no time in being a gracious host, giving her a place to sit and rest and offering to give her food before agreeing to hear her problems, showing Rosie's friendliness and graciousness. Rosie is especially kind and loving to those she considers her friends, such as with Alastor, whom after meeting up with him again after his "sabbatical", she eagerly greeted him as a friend. After meeting Charlie and taking a liking towards her, Rosie kindly offered to hear her out her dilemma and repeatedly gave Charlie suggestions on how to overcome them. During this conversation, Rosie was very empathetic and understanding to not only to Charlie, but also to Vaggie, whom she correctly deduced was ashamed of her past and didn't want to reveal it to Charlie in fear of being rejected by her. Due to her past experiences, Rosie believes that words are cheap and only action is what ultimately shows the truth, particularly when Rosie remarked that Vaggie trying to make up for her past actions by helping Charlie was telling of Vaggie's love for her. However, despite her general kindness, Rosie is shown to have a dark side as an Overlord. Following the pilot episode's extermination, Rosie wasn't particularly sensitive to the death of her associate, Franklin, as she is seen crossing off his name on their sign, seemingly without a care. Rosie is also highly intelligent and cunning, as shown where she had intimate knowledge on the territorial disputes in sections of Pentagram City between the various demon factions of the city. Rosie herself can also be quite commanding and intimidating towards the cannibals when she wants to be and can lead them efficiently as their leader, being fully aware of the mentality of the cannibals and offered Charlie sound advice on how to properly appeal to them to get them to help her. Alastor himself attributes Cannibal Town's relative peacefulness and pleasantness, especially when compared to the rest of Hell, is due to Rosie's excellent leadership. She likewise collaborates with Alastor to ensure their mutual success as Overlords, as seen when she offered Alastor information regarding a slot of territory he could easily take over with the right deal. Later, after Charlie successfully convinced the cannibals of Cannibal Town to help her, Rosie took note of Charlie's charisma and the immense power she inherited from her father, agreeing with Alastor that taking her side would ultimately be beneficial for them both in the future. Rosie also indulges in the morbid environment of Cannibal Town, being nonchalant and even friendly about its cannibalistic tendencies along with her Emporium selling numerous cannibalistic treats. Rosie even casually offered to feed Charlie a demon leg and some pinky fingers as hospitality to her when she arrived at her Emporium. Rosie also has a macabre sense of humor and levity, as she laughs in reminiscence of Alastor's anticlimactic death as a human much to his chagrin. Her cheeriness at Alastor's expense is more evident here, as well as a more complex relationship with the Radio Demon.
