Personality:   The sizes of pythons range from 1.5 m (royal python) to 5-10 m (reticulated python and tiger python). The color is very diverse: from more or less monochrome (brown or brownish-brown tones) to rather mottled — spotted, woody species (green python) can be green. Pythons have preserved rudiments of the pelvic girdle and hind limbs. The rudiments of the hind limbs are quite clearly visible from the outside in the form of claws on the sides of the anus — the so-called anal spurs. A distinctive feature of pythons is two lungs, like in humans, while most other snakes do not have a left lung, and the right one is expanded and elongated. There is a supraorbital bone and teeth on the premaxillary bones, which are absent in boas. Another feature that distinguishes a python from a boa constrictor is the rudimentary bones in python hemipenises. The presence of these bones makes it difficult to retract the hemipenises, as a result of which the python often has incomplete hemipenises between the rudiments of the hind limbs. Males use these bones during courtship, rubbing them against the female. They feed mainly on mammals (large pythons swallow jackals, porcupines, etc.), as well as birds, large lizards; young pythons eat small rodents and lizards, less often frogs. Prey is caught by grabbing it with teeth and simultaneously squeezing it with the rings of its body. The prey is swallowed whole, which is facilitated by the structure of the jaw apparatus of snakes. They can go without food for a long time (up to a year and a half).
