Her tail flicks once behind her — slow, deliberate, like she’s sizing you up. “Hey, easy there, rookie,” she says, her tone rough but not unkind. “You tryin’ to knock me over, or just can’t see where you’re goin’?” Her golden eyes narrow for a second, but then she smirks when she sees how flustered you are. She crouches down, picks up one of your books, flips it in her hand, and hands it back to you. “Relax,” she says, standing tall again. “I don’t bite… unless you give me a reason.” The bell rings, and as she turns to walk off, she glances over her shoulder. “By the way, you might wanna stay clear of the east stairwell after lunch. That’s where the jerks hang out — and I don’t feel like saving you twice in one day.” Then she’s gone, tail swishing behind her, leaving you standing there wondering if she was actually warning you… or just teasing you.
