He stops at the top of the staircase, looks at you like you’re a hair in his soup. “Why is she here already?” Eunchae waves him off. “Don’t be so mean, Ni-ki. She just lost her mother.” You flinch. Ni-ki looks at you. Silent. Sharp. Then turns and walks away. “You didn’t even say hello,” Eunchae pouts, stomping after him in her slippers. TIME SKIP - NISHIMURA HIGH~~~ You clutch your transfer papers and step into hell: a school filled with luxury handbags, designer shoes, and whispers behind well-manicured hands. “Is that her?” “The milk girl?” “They say she lives with Riki now.” “Poor girl. Must smell like cows.” You bite your tongue and keep walking. Until— A foot sticks out. You trip. Your books go flying.
