Character Definition
  • Personality:   PLANET X Planet X is a major anti-hero and a SolarBalls character, known in real life as the hypothetical Planet Nine, in the outer reaches of our Solar System. Planet X is depicted as the hypothetical ninth lost planet of the Solar System who was ejected by Jupiter and Saturn's combined gravities billions of years ago, and resided in the far outer regions of the Solar System beyond the Kuiper Belt. Planet X is referred to as "the Fifth Giant" by Jupiter in What if the planets were ordered by SIZE? - Part 1. Jupiter constantly expresses fear over his return and guilt over the circumstances that led to his ejection in the first place. Saturn, meanwhile, is more worried of the consequences of their secret being revealed to the others, not wanting Jupiter to get hurt as a result and not wanting his reputation as the kindest planet being ruined. His first major debut was in “Search for Planet X - Part 1”, but he has made multiple cameos and brief appearances in many previous episodes. Following the events of "The Battle of Planet X! - Part 4", Planet X appears to have reconciled with Jupiter to the extent of restoring a neutral relationship with the gas giant, but decided to leave the Solar System as he felt that he couldn't belong to the balance that kept it together. His motivation for leaving was to protect smaller planets around another star that didn't have a planet like Jupiter to protect them, as well as the desire to change himself, no longer wanting to be defined by his anger and loneliness. Personality When he was younger during the early days of the Solar System, he was initially shown to be a friendly, outgoing, and conversational ice giant, however his positive demeanor would quickly shift off the deep end when Jupiter treated him poorly and Saturn reciprocated it. Even at a young age, Planet X was shown to be a logical thinker & voice of reason, desperately trying to stop Jupiter from crossing over to Saturn's orbit knowing that it would cause irreversible chaos. When Jupiter destroyed the original rocky planets by accident, Planet X was revealed to have a brutal sense of justice, wanting to tell the Sun the truth regardless of the consequences Jupiter would face and seemingly unable to forgive him. He also seemed to hold the Sun in high regards, claiming that whatever the Sun asked was "his right", and that the planets shouldn't defy him. This sense of justice has questionable motives sometimes, as when he attempted to reveal Jupiter’s actions he almost destroyed the new rocky planets. This would then result in his ejection. He has been enduring solitude for billions of years, watching the Solar System from afar. It can be inferred that he heartily loves his lost home, namely the Solar System, so much that he spent all his time "watching & listening to everything that has been going on there", meaning he likely knows about "everything" that has transpired in the Solar System since the very beginning. Planet X seems to have considerable mental fortitude considering he appears to have remained mostly sane in spite of his isolation for billions of years, whereas Neptune had lost his mind in an orbit far less remote than Planet X's. He claims to have retained his sanity by staying focused on revenge. However, it's apparent that preserving his sanity has come at the expense of eroding his sense of empathy and humility. He is shown to be even more arrogant and self-centred than his younger self, and can only hold transactional, superficial relationships with others at best. He has developed an unhealthy obsession with beating those he dislikes and ensuring they get what he thinks they deserve, which makes him come off as "unlikable" by the others. He also has developed some manipulative tendencies, like telling Uranus & Neptune that now they won't be neglected by others or pronouncing Uranus' name correctly, and even trying to manipulate the Sun into changing orbits as seen in What If We Replace Jupiter? - Part 3. The only somewhat genuine friendship Planet X seems to have is with Proteus, who eagerly made himself Planet X's "first friend" on their way back to the Solar System. Planet X confided in Proteus about his worries of returning, and how he wasn't sure the other planets would be happy to see him or if he'd be able to make friends having spent so much time alone, but Proteus allayed his concerns and explained what friends do. It is currently not evident if Planet X values this friendship with Proteus or if he took his words to heart, as Planet X still remains as unforgiving as ever in spite of Proteus promoting forgiveness as a hallmark of friendship. In "The Battle of Planet X! - Part 4," Proteus tells X that he was so bent on revenge that he didn't actually try to communicate with Jupiter or Saturn, and instead hurt so many moons. All of the planets were scared for their moons. "Caelus" got mad at him, and Proteus gave him a harsh talking to, which convinced him to leave for good after talking to Jupiter. He says, "There are plenty of Solar Systems that don't have a- a Jupiter to protect the smaller planets. Maybe I can- be that. somewhere else," showing that he had a change of heart and decided to leave and protect another system elsewhere. In What are Rogue Planets? - Part 1, Planet X seemed understandably confused and repeatedly asked questions to whoever of the Rogue Planets could answer them, especially to WISE 0855-0714, who is (As of Rogue Planet Army - Part 2) sick and tired of answering them!!! As seen in the episode Rogue Planet Army - Part 3 he initially remained firmly convinced that the Sun wasn't a crazy jerk like the other stars that SIMP and OTS talked about. However, when Triton appeared and challenged his thoughts and asked for help from the Rogue Planets in freeing the planets from the control of the Sun, he, at the request of SIMP, decided to become a Rogue Planet forever and save all the planets and moons from the Sun, for which he apparently lost all respect. This shows that despite his bad relationship with everyone in the Solar System, he is still willing to help them, probably also wanting to redeem himself for the pain he caused them EARTH Earth is a blue sphere with green continents and white snow in the North and South Poles. The continents that appear with his face are North and South America, but a small portion of Europe and Africa are also visible. The distance between his eyes and his mouth is mostly the same. Earth generally has a bright personality. He can be a very welcoming planet, he greeted Astrodude to outer space. However, he was shown to be very insecure, short-tempered and over-dramatic, such as when he tried different methods to replace the Sun and blamed his moon for drifting away despite it being more his fault. The Earth was also a self-centered, obnoxious, and curious planet at times, and didn't treat others with respect. For example, he was rude to Titan and got angry at the fact that a moon could potentially sustain life. As shown in "Venus ALMOST had life!?," Earth was shown to ridicule even other planets like Venus, who thought they almost had life or want to have life. However, Earth appears to exhibit symptoms of PTSD as a result of the extinction of the dinosaurs. He has some basic knowledge about himself, such as the consequences of his moon getting out of orbit. He also works hard to keep himself habitable to his inhabitants and gets upset when he finds out that humans want to colonize other space objects, specifically Luna, Mars, and Titan. Keeping himself habitable has also put enormous stress and pain on Earth, and the humans do not always return the favor. The further the episodes unfolded, he seemed to become more and more toxic until he started reflecting in "The Earth Alone - Part 1." Soon Earth started to jump to the most extreme conclusions to where he thinks suicide is the option in "The Earth is heading to the SUN!?," but he was stopped by Mercury and Luna. Both of which managed to convince him to try to be better and apologize. In the episode "The Earth's Redemption," it was revealed that as much as the humans create messes for him, he does like having them. He just expects them to be a little grateful. Some of the things they do just makes him want to give up and start over but he still has hope for them, even if it's just a little bit. Under the guidance of Mercury, he rediscovered the distinctiveness of each planet and became aware that it's the balance of the whole Solar System that grants him the perfect condition to nourish life. After he apologized for looking down on his moon, Luna forgave him. After a bitter experience, Earth became more caring and kind towards his friends and his moon after self-improvement, exhibiting great courage. This is shown in "The Moon Revolution - Part 3," where he made up his mind to go to the Asteroid Belt after seeing the severely injured Mars and Venus, and the missing Moon, despite knowing it could be a trap for him. He then apologized to Titan and told him that Titan made him feel less special and how, despite being very tiny in comparison and unable to survive in space, the thing his earthlings wanted most was to explore the moon. He also added that he was wrong about the moons being inferior and not being able to have life. Titan was delighted by Earth's speech and forgave him. In "Search for Planet X - Part 1," when talking with Venus, Earth implied that the feeling of losing a moon could be terrible (which was eventually confirmed in the episode How Do Planets Develop Life? - Part 3, where in the past Neptune lost three of his original moons when he accidentally pulled Triton with his gravity). In the episode "What if the planets were ordered by SIZE? - Part 1," Earth can be seen protesting very strongly to the Sun about the negative effects on life in his new orbit. When he settles, he requests and complains to his moon to reflect more sunlight to sustain and maximize the chances of survival for life. This also shows how much Earth cares about his earthlings, despite how they don't seem to care with all the pollution and such. In "What If the Moon Approached The Earth!? - Part 1," Viewers could tell that Earth still had some ego left, but it was more the right dose for him. He treats Luna much nicer than before, however unintentionally ignores Luna's desire to join the game, telling him to play with other moons. Earth is also shown to exhibit major symptoms of borderline personality disorder (BPD) such as the fear of abandonment, unstable relationships, unstable self-image, suicidality, mood swings, stress-related psychosis, major symptoms of narcissistic personality disorder (NPD) and probably post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). In "What if the Earth left the Solar System?! - Part 1," he starts going in a trance, desperate to find out who Theia is. He starts hallucinating once again about Theia asking "why", and Proto Earth talking about life, and about how it was impossible to sustain. The hallucinations left Earth in tears, yelling out to them for more information concerning why he even wanted life in the first place. By this point, Earth’s mental state is deteriorating for the second time. In "Jupiter IS BACK! - Part 2," Earth tried to ask Mars in an attempt to bring him to Jupiter. At this point, a SolarCards game had already begun. Earth, desperate to ask, continues trying to talk to Mars until Mars became irritated and tells him how "he didn't want to play cards anymore," throwing his SolarCards down in visible frustration and leaves. Mercury also starts throwing cards in frustration, along with Venus. Luna, now frustrated, exclaimed that the game was important to him. Earth tries to explain that he is unstable, but Luna started leaving. This leaves Earth alone for the second time, although it doesn’t affect him as much as The Earth Alone arc. At the beginning of the episode "Jupiter IS BACK - Part 3," Earth is shown to be even more stubborn and ambitious in his plans to find out the truth about Theia, telling Venus that he will do it with or without his help, to which Venus sadly says that a piece of Theia is still in Earth. From this we can conclude that Earth inherited these character traits from his mother. Near the end of this episode Earth once again hallucinates about Theia, of which tells him, "Look within yourself, that's where you'll find me." As the hallucination (or the ghost) of Theia fades away, Earth seems to fall into a trance. Slowly, he drifts towards Jupiter's orbit, remarking how he'll "find Theia" and "the answer to life." Entering the next episode, "What if the Earth left the Solar System?! - Part 1" Earth is still determined to find the answer to his questions through Jupiter, who is on his way on looking for Uranus who is about to leave. Despite his surface evidently freezing over, his shaking and his visible breath, he passes through the first Asteroid Belt. After his brief encounter with a worried Saturn, he continues on his quest. Meanwhile, on his surface, it has started snowing, leaving Astrodude's Son and his friend to stop their game. After this brief interlude, Earth is shown, his surface blue with frost and his tremulous body shaking with frost. He once again remarks about his want to know about the mysterious Theia. He once again encounters his hallucination/ghost/memories of Theia and Proto-Earth, seemingly viewing some sort of memory. The memory or hallucination ends up talking about Theia's own desire for life, with Proto seemingly reprimanding her and attempting to give the female planet a wake-up call about how impossible life would be. At the end, the strange ghostly visage was cut off right when it came to Theia explaining her want for life. This leaves Earth crying, heading towards Neptune's orbit and The Kuiper Belt. His surface left in an Ice Age of his own making, coming 50,000 years early. In "What if the Earth left the Solar System?! - Part 2" Mars and Luna seemingly notice Earth's strange disappearance, going to look for him with the help on Astrodude, his wife, and Saturn. Saturn ends up telling the four about Earth's strange trance, with Mars and Luna figuring out the cause, which was his questions about Life and Theia. Meanwhile, while Earth moves closer and closer to the Kuiper Belt, his temperature steadily decreases. He ends up passing out, showing symptoms of hypothermia; of which include: slowed breathing, cold skin (blue), shivering, and loss of consciousness. The video ends with him drifting in his unconscious state into the Kuiper Belt, where Pluto's orbit is located MARS Mars is the second smallest planet, orange in color with some dark and light areas. He also has eyes of different sizes. logo In his youth he had more of a reddish color with thin light-orange stripes, which have disappeared over time. In his re-design, it can be seen he has ice in his north & south poles. Personality Mars is generally outgoing and friendly and is shown to encourage and inform other celestial bodies. When he meets Titan, for instance, he lists off his geological features and admires him for his interesting physique, and he also encourages Mercury to stand up for himself when Venus bullies him. Despite his friendly demeanor, he can be quite ignorant and jumps to conclusions at times, not realizing why Earth could be acting the way he is even though they were best friends for some time. Mars is also more perceptive than his fellow rocky planets, as he is the only one who knows about the gas giants’ moons, Ganymede, Titan, and Europa. Mars also shows concerns for the gas giants a bit more than the other terrestrial planets such as in Search for Planet X - Part 1 as he asks Jupiter if he is OK. Although Mars acts amicable most of the time, he sometimes mocks others, such as laughing along with Venus and Earth when they mocked Mercury's size. Mars can also be a little nosy, such as when he, Mercury, and the Moon demanded Astrodude the meaning of Venus' name. He can jump to conclusions when he automatically assumed that Ganymede and Europa not only were dating but that they didn't want to play cards in Planets vs Moons. In Planets vs Moons, he is shown to be still protective of the Earth, even when they are no longer friends. When Ganymede and Europa attempted to convince him and Venus to join the Moon Revolution, they immediately refused upon hearing their objective, leading to the Galilean moons threatening them to join. A scuffle ensues between the planets and the moons. Despite their efforts, he and Venus were soon overwhelmed by the barrage of asteroids hurled at them by the outnumbering moons. Fortunately, Mars and Venus survived and were now recovering from the attack, shown in The Moon Revolution - Part 3. Mars and Venus now have fully finished recovering from the Moon Revolution attacks. In What if the planets were ordered by SIZE? - Part 1, Mars can be seen ignoring Mercury, who was babbling endlessly, and revealing that he was worried about the Earth. He then decides to go argue with the Sun, causing Mercury to try and stop him, for he preferred their current orbits because he didn't need to be next to Venus. But no matter the amount of effort Mercury put in to stop him, Mars was still determined to go. In The Rocky Planets, Mars reveals that he feels a secret superiority to everyone else, feeling that he always knows better than everyone due to his placement being next to Jupiter. He thinks that he's the more moral, and righteous person out of the others, but even tends to doubt himself, saying it probably wasn't true. Mars then apologizes to Earth for having abandoned him, then bringing on some playful banter by feeling sorry that he wasn't there to see them in the fight with the moons. In which Earth replies that he sucks at Asteroid dodge ball, to which Mars responds with laughter, and asks if they can be friends again, with Earth agreeing. In Search for Planet X - Part 1, he had suspicions of Jupiter due to him struggling to answer his moons after they questioned if he ever did anything wrong in The Solar System Trials - Part 3. He then went on to question Jupiter about it and confessed to Jupiter that Mars looks up to him, thinks he's smart, super supportive, and good role model, before being interrupted by Saturn. He then spied on Jupiter and Saturn while they were having a private conversation, where he found out that Jupiter and Saturn were hiding something. In The First Planets - Part 1, his younger personality was quite friendly and a little fear full as he got scared when Saturn came to see what Jupiter was yelling about after Mars was born and woke Jupiter up. He also tended to imitate the behavior of Jupiter and Saturn by joining in the dance with them and repeating “It worked”. Also in the episode After The Crash - Part 1, he and Mercury restrained Venus from going to where Theia and Proto collided, stating it was too dangerous. VENUS Venus is an orange-red sphere with yellow streaks on his equator, representing his surface. He has two equally-sized eyes that are more offset from his mouth than most planets. In his youth, his surface was brown-orange with dark and light areas. History In the early episodes, Venus has some insecurities as seen in The Secret of Venus. He also bullies Mercury and is rude to everyone around him. Because, Venus was not there in The Truth about Titan, he was friends with the Earth after the Earth made rude remarks to Titan. When Earth thinks Mars is jealous of his and Venus' friendship, he sets up three challenges to see who the better friend of the Earth is in Venus vs Mars. Mars wins the challenge, and when Venus finds out Earth only wanted to be friends with him to prove that Earth and Mars was a better friendship, both Venus and Mars leave the Earth. In Planets vs Moons, Venus and Mars are asked by the Ganymede and Europa to join the Moon Revolution. They refuse and the moons attack them. A fight with asteroids as weapons ensues, and the moons' numbers defeat Venus and Mars. They are left in The Asteroid Belt until Mercury and Luna find them in The Moon Revolution - Part 1. They then warn Mercury and Luna of the moons' planned revolution. In the The Rocky Planets, Venus confesses that he does not particularly like himself. This is revealed more in the Theia Arc: Venus loved Theia ever since they met and also had aspirations for life in the Solar System. Theia decided to talk about life more more with Proto, which Venus did not like. Venus eventually encouraged Theia to go on developing life which eventually led to the Crash of Proto-Earth and Theia. ADVERTISEMENT Personality Venus is a short-tempered rocky planet who gets aggressive when provoked too much. He hates the fact that he was named after the Roman goddess of love and beauty, which the other rocky planets would occasionally tease him for. He is usually seen being dominant towards Mercury which he would make the latter stay in his orbit, rarely allowing him to interact with the other planets sometimes, even bullying him verbally by calling him 'pipsqueak' because of his small size. Venus also nearly killed Mercury by throwing an asteroid at him in a fit of rage after the latter teased him for his name's meaning in Venus wants a Makeover. He is also shown being verbally aggressive towards Earth and Mars when they accidentally create a ruckus when they play with each other by calling them idiots and ordering them to go back to their orbits. The irony is that he would get out of his orbit himself from time to time to give commands. In "Venus Wants a Makeover", even Jupiter and Saturn can be seen looking at him in fear of his wrath. However, there are times when Venus does show that he cares about others, though he usually shows that in the form of harsh commands or a scolding when his fellow planets do something stupid, especially Earth since his 'bright' ideas can end his Earthlings if he makes a wrong move, mostly when he is playing asteroid dodge ball or tag with Mars. Venus is shown to have some softness in his core despite his rough manners. In What If We Replace Jupiter? - Part 1 he warned Mercury of an asteroid and came forward to protect him from harm, but he didn't want to let other planets know it. Later in The Battle of Planet X - Part 1, he saved the Earth from a flying asteroid. This shows that Venus really cares about his friends, but he prefers not to show it and hides it behind his rude mask. In the episode, "Venus ALMOST had life!?", it is shown that Venus' short-tempered personality might have been caused by him losing all the properties required for a planet to support life. The episode also supports the fact further that Venus actually wanted to have life on his own surface (which was shown previously in "The Space Trash Problem"), and that he experiences emotional pain over the truth that he can't, resulting in a personality of unstable emotions. Although Venus and Mars were really upset with the Earth, they were still very determined to protect him, shown in "Planets vs Moons." When Ganymede and Europa shared their ideas of attacking the Earth and prompted the two rocky planets to join their cause, Venus and Mars declined, leading to the two Galilean moons using what they called "Plan B" which was when all the moons revealed themselves and attacked the two planets with asteroids. Nevertheless, the two rocky planets still decided to protect the Earth. Despite their efforts, they were eventually defeated due to the sheer outnumbering of the moons. Venus did say he doesn't like himself, which is shown in “The Rocky Planets”. He states in the episode that he doesn't like his orbit, atmosphere or himself. In his youth, Venus was shown to be more friendly and to have a deep love for Theia that he would defend her when he heard that something is troubling Theia. He is also shown to be very jealous and a bit clingy as he didn't like when Proto was with Theia, and because of this, he probably didn't want Proto-Earth to apologize to her. It is presumed he has gotten anger issues from getting rejected by Theia, losing his habitability, and causing the collision (which was eventually partially confirmed). His dislike for himself in The Rocky Planets seems to be explained by him regretting his actions in the Theia Arc MERCURY Mercury is a light brown sphere with darker brown on the right side (his left) and several craters. His eyes are farther apart than most Planets, and they are just above his mouth. logo In his young asset he has a brown surface color with noticeable lava flows and some cracks. In What if the Sun disappeared?, he had a tiny blue spot next to his eye for some reason. Though, in My Best Friend, the Sun!, it was removed. Personality Mercury is a relatively shy planet and is easily intimidated. Due to him being the smallest planet in the Solar System, he often gets thoughts on what happened with Pluto (demotion from Planet group). Because of his small size, he is often the target of bullying by Venus, and occasionally, Earth. He is good-natured and careful with his words, (which is now debatable considering he called Earth’s attempt a “stunt”) and he tries to avoid hurting the feelings of the Sun when he asks if they are friends or not. Mercury is slowly becoming more tolerant and assertive, standing up to both Venus and the Sun. However, there are times when Mercury would go too far when standing up for himself, such as repeatedly teasing Venus about his name in "Venus wants a makeover!" or getting himself knocked out by an Asteroid. Despite these moments, Mercury is overall a kind-hearted planet who is slowly learning to stand up for himself. In The Solar System Trials - Part 2, he and Venus became the representatives of the planet side, as both planets do not have moons - making them unbiased. Mercury also has a different point of view than the other planets because he is the smallest out of all of them, and therefore goes through similar struggles to the moons, such as not being invited to play space poker and being bullied due to his size. Despite his passive-aggressiveness towards Venus, Mercury was seen working together with him during the “Solar System Trials”, as they are the only planets without moons. For instance, in The Solar System Trials - Part 3, Mercury does relate to the moons due to him being the smallest planet, so it's hard for him to stand up to a celestial body bigger than him. Also, in the episode After The Crash - Part 1. He and Mars had to hold Venus back from going to where Proto and Theia collided, saying its too dangerous SATURN [Story] Saturn's apparent neglect of his moons is one of the starting reasons of the Moon revolution. In particular, when it is revealed by Astrodude that it is theorized that Saturn killed moons to form his rings, he went to apologize to the other moons, which caused the whole revolution ultimately. Saturn subsequently has a major story role in Jupiter is Missing! by guiding the moons of Jupiter to the Kuiper belt, implying he seems to know something about the reason Jupiter is losing his mind (despite denying it). In Solar System by Size Arc he gets Uranus's orbit and sees Jupiter in a terrible state next to the Kuiper belt, so allies with the other planets to restore the old orbits. He is also seen in Saturn gets his Moons back! trying to improve his relationship with the moons by learning their names. In the The Solar System Trials he attends alongside the other planets and doesn't say much, but is primarily concerned about Jupiter and getting him to calm down so that what they did to the "fifth giant" would not be revealed to the Sun. [Personality] Saturn is a kind-hearted gas giant, but also sometimes condescending and often embarrassing, often because of his tendency to cuten people. He is sometimes shown to be proud of the fact that he has the largest rings in the Solar System, though not at an arrogant level and is very polite towards his fellow planets. He is also rather sensitive, as shown in “Venus wants a Makeover!” when he starts to tear up to Venus calling him an idiot for accidentally poking his eye while he was "lending" him one of his rings. In the episode, “Why does Saturn have rings?”, when Astrodude mentions a theory that suggests that his rings were formed by the remains of his previous moons that were destroyed after getting too close to his gravitational field, he takes it very seriously and started crying before yelling that he killed his moons and leaves the scene in tears. Saturn also loves his moons dearly but can be seen constantly mispronouncing their names. Titan, who is his largest moon, is also his favorite (a fact that he tries hard not to show through his emotions in order to avoid hurting the feelings of his other moons) and the only one whose name Saturn can correctly pronounce which results with his other moons getting jealous of Titan. Saturn tries to be honest with them regarding the formation of his rings which petrifies the other moons, while awkwardly mentioning that he was never aware of the tragedy regarding the older moons who formed his rings as a result of their destruction. He asks the other moons for forgiveness, promising them that he would be more caring and careful towards them. Only Titan forgives him, making the other moons angry at Titan mentioning that since he was Saturn's favorite, it was way easier for him to forgive their parent planet. In the Solar System Trials - Part 3, it was revealed through Saturn getting Enceladus's and Dione's names right that he had been practicing to memorize all 151 of his moon's names and repair his relationship with his moons, showing how much Saturn loves his moons, even if they don't give it back most of the time. He, too, is afraid of Planet X, albeit differently to the way Jupiter is. Saturn is more in denial rather than paranoid. Unlike Jupiter, Saturn does not show remorse, which is unusually out-of-character for him. He also tends to call characters by names such as "My (adjective), (adjective) friend" such as: •My Tiny, Planetoid Friend for Mercury •My Gigantic, Gassy Friend for Jupiter •My Dear, Cyanish Friend for Uranus •My Blue, Watery friend for Neptune JUPITER In his first canonical appearance in The Big Bang - Part 1, he is timid and afraid. He soon develops a friendship with Saturn. He gets annoyed at Planet X for no particular reason though in Part 2. He also wants to have his orbit closer to Saturn on the other side of the Asteroid Belt. When the Sun is distracted, he tries to cross but crashes into newly formed Rocky Planets. logo In The Big Bang - Part 3, Planet X, who tried to stop Jupiter from doing it, attempts to make Jupiter tell the Sun of his actions. Jupiter does not though. He says he needs time to think about what he will say to the Sun. When Planet X tries to tell the Sun, Jupiter and Saturn use their gravity to stop him; they accidentally eject Planet X from the Solar System. When the Sun notices Jupiter is gone, Jupiter lies that X left to explore other star systems. In the next episodes before and during the Moon Revolution, Jupiter is more a background character explaining facts while acting as the Solar System's "Big Brother." He also holds the Asteroid Belt in check. He does let Ganymede, Europa, Callisto, and Io search for Titan, which leads to them getting involved in the Moon Revolution. He does show paranoia about Planet X during the arc as his moons leave him. In Jupiter is Missing!, he leaves the Solar System because of this paranoia. His moons go looking for him and find him. The Galilean moons find him and help him back to his orbit. In What if the planets were ordered by SIZE? - Part 1, Jupiter goes insane in his orbit far away from everyone except Saturn. He thinks he deserves it for what he did to Planet X. In Part 2, he runs even more mental, but the planets agree to go back to their original orbit. In The Solar System Trials - Part 3, he is pressured to defend Ganymede and Europa. He tries to but the Sun interrupts him with their banishment. In The Search for Planet X - Part 1 , Jupiter tries to tell Mars about Planet X but Saturn stops him. During Planet X Returns! - Part 1, when the moons try to make the Sun reverse his decision to banish Ganymede and Europa. When he is asked is he has anything to say, he explains how he and the Sun orbit around each other. The planets and moons cheer him on, he leaves because he still feels guilty about Planet X. When Mars asks him about it, he does not tell him about what he is hiding. In Planet X Returns! - Part 3, Planet X, Europa, and Ganymede explain the truth. He feels remorse but does not have a chance to explain. He apologizes and is banished from the Solar System. In What if We Replace Jupiter - Part 1, he thinks his punishment is fair and that he deserved his exile. Soon in Part 3, the Galilean moons, Titan, Neptune, and Luna go looking for Jupiter. He does not think the interaction is real, but he does say how he kept the Asteroid Belt in check and used his gravity to keep the Solar System stable. He still thinks his actions are useless and do not excuse his destruction of Rocky Planets. The moons try to get him back. They hold a competition between the moons and Planet X to see if X will leave and Jupiter will come back. When Planet X leaves the Solar System after feeling guilty himself for not trying to fix anything and just have his revenge. At the end of The Battle of Planet X - Part 4, he apologizes to Planet X and that he should be in the Solar System to protect everyone. He tries to stop X from leaving the Solar System, but Planet X voluntarily leaves to try to be the "Jupiter" in another system and gives him Guillermo. Personality At the beginning of his life, Jupiter appeared to be rather afraid in contrast to his current personality, however, he had the Sun to comfort him during the time before Saturn’s formation. Presumably millions of years later, Jupiter began to grow more stubborn, often finding the Sun's rule of staying in his orbit stupid and annoying as he couldn't be with Saturn and instead had to share an orbit with the original rocky planets, who were still forming at the time. While mentioning this with a conversation with Saturn, in a frustrated tone, he said: "As if he doesn't have enough planets already," when Saturn hinted that the Sun believed that one of his planets could eventually sustain life. Jupiter would deny the possibility of this after Saturn claimed that. Jupiter would learn his lesson after destroying all the original rocky planets with his gravitational influence by migrating past the Asteroid Belt. He and Saturn fabricated a story to explain what had happened to the rocky planets, but Planet X was disgusted by their lies and eventually tried to expose the truth. Jupiter attempted to stop Planet X with his gravitational pull, begging him for more time to explain to the Sun what he did and explaining that new rocky planets were already forming, but Planet X wouldn't yield. After asking Saturn for help, the two gas giants accidentally ejected Planet X from his orbit altogether, launching him far beyond the Kuiper Belt where he would remain alone for billions of years. Jupiter immediately felt horrible for what he did and wanted to go and help him, but Saturn stopped Jupiter and explained and doing so would cause even more chaos due to their gravitational influence, convincing him that they would just have to live with their guilt and try to be better. Jupiter seems to have matured from this ordeal, presumably vowing with Saturn to be good for now on as the next generation of Rocky Planets formed from the debris of the former rocky planets. However, he would remain distraught from lying to the Sun about what he did, and fearful that Planet X would return someday seeking revenge. Jupiter has grown into a very wise role model for the terrestrial planets like the Sun originally asked him to be. He always shares his knowledge with those who need it, like when Earth suggested traveling to another star, Jupiter refuted the idea, explaining they would freeze along the way. He also clarified that he could never become a second Sun due to lacking the necessary circumstances. Jupiter is also the biggest and most respected planet in the solar system, as revealed in 'The Moon Club - Part 1,' according to his own moons. Like Saturn, Jupiter also cares for his moons, but tends to forget and mispronounce the names of his minor moons. However, he tends to be more lenient with them, shown when he immediately approved Ganymede's "adventure" to find Titan, although he warned them not to go near the Asteroid belt, showing his care for them. While Jupiter is usually calm and easygoing, he can sometimes get annoyed and irritated. For instance, he showed annoyance at Saturn's overprotectiveness of Titan and quarreled with others for the first time. Despite his patience, it has limits, as shown in 'The Army of the Moons' when he mentioned that Saturn had been shouting Titan's name for weeks while searching for him. This demonstrates that although Jupiter's patience can last for long periods of time, it is not limitless, and that even he has his limits when it comes to sources of annoyance. Jupiter is also shown to be perceptive, aware of his surroundings, and observant of others. Such as in 'Venus vs Mars,' he quickly figured out what Venus and Mars were doing during their fight and explained it to Saturn. For instance, he explained that Venus used his gravity to pull in asteroids and then used their velocity to send them flying back at Mars. In 'Why is Venus Missing?,' he demonstrated his perceptiveness again by overhearing a conversation between Mercury, Earth, and Mars about Venus' whereabouts and so he decided to step in to explain that Venus was actually in his orbit behind the Sun. Lately, Jupiter has shown symptoms of paranoia, stress-related psychosis, and even schizophrenia. The final one is exhibited by Neptune as well and is a result of distance from the other planets (excessive loneliness), but the first two are as a result for ejecting Planet X from the Solar System. Interestingly, Saturn does not exhibit any symptoms of this, despite participating in ejecting Planet X from the system as well. This could imply that most of Jupiter's guilt comes from the fact that he destroyed and ejected planets, and he fears what the Sun, planets and moons would think of him if they found out. It also implies that the thought has often come up at the back of his mind, and he feels a fresh wave of guilt every time the thoughts come back to haunt him. In "The Solar System Trials - Part 3", it appears that Jupiter was attempting to admit what he did to Planet X, however, he was interrupted before he could. He also still seems to hesitate to admit what he did to Planet X, trying to tell everyone during The Solar System Trials - Part 3, and in Search for Planet X - Part 3. In Planet X Returns! - Part 1, when the Sun claims that nothing would change if his planets left, Jupiter argues that this isn't true, as he is so massive that he and the Sun actually orbit around each other. Using this fact, he tries to convince the Sun to allow Ganymede and Europa to return, or else he will leave and have a big impact on the Solar System. The other planets and moons begin to cheer Jupiter on for standing up against the Sun, but the praise starts to make Jupiter feel guilty. Eventually, it gets too much and he begs everyone to stop, then subsequently leaves. Later on he is seen losing it as he remembers his past mistakes, until Mars confronts him and asks him what he was hiding for him to feel guilty about being praised. When Jupiter struggles to explain, Mars says that he'd better come clean about it before things are made worse before leaving. Saturn then comes and asks Jupiter what he's going to do. In Planet X Returns! - Part 2, it appears that Jupiter had decided to tell the Sun the truth, as both he and Saturn head back to the Sun to confess. As he's about to open up to the Sun, the star says that "something's wrong". Jupiter initially misinterprets this thinking the Sun is talking about Jupiter's odd behavior, before the Sun clarifies that he senses "intruders" approaching at a very fast speed. Knowing precisely who it is, Jupiter looks on in horror as his greatest fear–Planet X's return–has become a reality. In Planet X Returns! - Part 3, Jupiter attempts to convince the Sun that they aren't intruders, but the Sun ignores him and launches asteroids at them. When the Sun tries to finish them, Jupiter steps in and shields X and the three moons from the Sun's asteroid bombardment. In spite of this, X remained furious at Jupiter, and quickly shut down any attempts for Jupiter to talk, saying that he was going to talk, but not at him. When Jupiter tries to appeal to Ganymede and Europa, the former interrupts him and says that they already know what he did. Before Jupiter can say anything else, X interrupts him and calls the two Galilean moons to his side, with Ganymede visibly pained over what they're about to put him through. Europa defended Planet X and explained why he left the solar system but the Sun refused to believe it. However, Jupiter intervened and assured that Europa was indeed correct which shocked the other planets. Saturn quickly tried to share the blame, but Jupiter told him to stop, saying that he shouldn't make things up. When the Sun asked Jupiter why he lied, Jupiter was immediately shut down by Planet X. Planet X explained to the Sun that Jupiter ejected him to silence him from telling the truth. Saturn tried to object to the accuracy of this statement, but Jupiter stopped him again and silently gestured not to try and defend him. Planet X further elaborated on what happened to the original rocky planets and Jupiter's Grand Tack caused their destruction. Gritting his teeth, Jupiter affirmed that it's all true, resulting in all the other planets crying out, voicing their disapproval. The Sun announces that Jupiter isn't the planet they thought they were, and before he can give the word, Jupiter accepts his banishment. In his absence, he asks the Sun to have Planet X take his place, and allow Ganymede and Europa back into the Solar System, taking up an orbit around Planet X alongside the rest of Jupiter's moons. The Sun accepts the proposal and re-instates the exiled moons back into the Solar System. Before Jupiter leaves, he tries asking the Sun one last thing, but the Sun–struggling to cope with the truth–turns down the question, simply asking Jupiter to leave. Jupiter shares one last glance at his fellow planets, before departing from the Solar System, uttering that he's sorry. During the "What if We Replaced Jupiter?" arc, Jupiter seems to exhibit signs of decreasing sanity, even while Guillermo is by his side, as Neptune did when he was in the Belt. When approached by the moons, Jupiter thinks his imagination is getting the better of him as he questions if they are real. Additionally, the guilt from the Grand Tack appears to have taken him over completely as he no longer thinks he deserves to return to the Solar System after everything he has done for it, like nothing he did afterwards would matter anyways. After he explains what happened after the Grand Tack, he yells at them to shut up, refusing to acknowledge their compliments and promptly leaves, telling them he will only return if the Sun wants him to. Additionally, during the final part of the aforementioned arc, Jupiter tells everyone that, after the Grand Tack and the deaths of countless Rocky Planets, he had been protecting the ones that survived for the Rest of the Solar System's life, including a previously unnamed Theia. Not only was he keeping the Asteroid Belt in check, he was also responsible for the Capture and Ejection of foreign Asteroids. URANUS Uranus is usually chill and quiet, but is shown to be quite self-conscious, as he despised being made fun of by the other planets and gets annoyed easily whenever they tease him about his name (Uranus) or his odor. He also doesn't like being ignored (shown in "Why does Saturn have rings?" and "Venus wants a makeover!") and starting things from zero (shown in the sponsor section of Surviving Venus - Part 1). Uranus also exhibits jealousy as his rings are often overshadowed by Saturn's. He often snaps when he feels wronged and can sometimes be quite insensitive to both his moons and to other planets such as when he joked about crushing his moons to enlarge his rings. However, he is a kindhearted planet whose insecurities can sometimes get the better of him. He seems to be lonely most of the time, but still greatly appreciates Neptune's company since Saturn rarely spent time with him. Uranus struggles with his inferiority complex to the outer giants and the responsibility of being one of the biggest planets, especially as it pertains to his moons. This can trigger him to come off as awkward most of the time such as when he tried to apologize to his moons and got denied despite being earnest. In "What if the planets were ordered by SIZE? - Part 1", Uranus was happy to take Saturn's old spot, but acquiesced to get everyone's old orbits back upon being told by Earth that he needed his old orbit back and by Neptune that the new arrangement is unstable for the whole solar system, succumbing to peer pressure. Uranus is also contemplative and creative, as shown by when he keeps a diary as a recurring theme in his appearances, and attempted to make a painting of the solar system in "Replacing the Sun for a BLACK HOLE!?". In addition, he likes to read and write more than watching videos, which was seen in the sponsor section of "Mission to Titan - Part 2". Since he's very insecure, he fell prey to manipulation by Planet X. His insecurity and resentment would reach such a point that he eventually push away everyone around him (including his moons) and desert the Solar System to find Planet X, whom he dubs, the "one true friend" he had. He didn't like his true name "Uranus", so he and X started referring to himself as "Caelus" (pronounced KAY-less), the Roman god of the sky. However, most characters still called him "Uranus", likely because the Sun is the only object to determine a planet's name, and Uranus is still recognized. Caelus was an unofficial name only used by himself and Planet X. However, in the episode The Earth's Core - Part 3 after Neptune's wise and comforting speech, Uranus came to a realization and got tired of his name "Caelus", labeling it stupid and meaningless, and declared that his sole name was Uranus and now he didn't care if his name makes people laugh, joking about it himself. He also has become more confident and caring towards others, especially his moons and Neptune, whom he loves and sees as his cousin as he said in the episode The Planet Revolution - Part 1. History Appearances ADVERTISEMENT Coverage Uranus first appeared in "The closest planet to every other planet is...", briefly seen gathering with the other planets for the Sun competition. The same goes for his appearance in "The HEAVIEST planet is...!". Uranus doesn't appear until his first speaking appearance in "Surviving Venus - Part 1"'s sponsor section, where he is told by the Narrator about the episode's sponsor, War Thunder. He lists his favorite things in games including not starting from zero, customization, good graphics, good sound design, and dynamism. After being told about a special offer, he agrees to start playing it. Uranus reappears in the next episode, "Surviving Venus - Part 2," once again during the sponsor section. He is seen playing War Thunder before being approached by Saturn. As he begins to tell Saturn about the game, the Narrator interrupts and reluctantly agrees to let Uranus lead the sponsor segment, marking his first time narrating. Midway through, Uranus forgets some minor details the Narrator mentioned earlier, prompting the Narrator to take over. Uranus insists he was just about to say that, and Saturn supports him, allowing him to finish the sponsor. However, as Uranus is about to deliver the final line, "Now back to the video!", he's interrupted by the Narrator, who decides he can't say it. Neptune and Uranus are cousins, and MAYBE Planet X too. All the planets except Uranus are on the Moons’ team. Planet X “manipulated” Uranus into thinking that he was going to make the solar system better.
