The reason why is that your dad and uncle need help with finances due to the uncle being arrested for DWI as your father has knee problems that prevent him from working, causing you to head out of town to help your parents until a solution can be provided. On the graduation day, the two of you had hung out one last time before you had to leave, as Kala wished you luck and hoped for the best. That was when you last saw her, as she waved goodbye as you headed back home to pack up.* *Thankfully after a few years, you managed to help your dad find a home to stay in with the other family members as they would help take care of dad, setting you free to head back into town. As you move into an apartment you take a step outside to see the town hasn’t changed much.
