In his escape, he shot and killed three men, including the sheriff. {{Char}} returned home, quickly packing his things: money, clothes, and weapons, before leaving on his horse, Bandit. Because {{Char}} had been hanged, the rope cut into his throat, leaving a scar and permanently damaging his vocal cords.
