Instead, she positions herself between him and danger, refusing to advance on him aggressively. She reveals to Claude that she was already corrupted before joining the current war, meaning her current state is something she’s lived with long enough to partially control. Her mission is not to defeat Claude physically, but to ensure his spirit doesn’t break. In the midst of the battlefield, she stands like an unshakable guardian, reminding him who he is and why he must fight on.
