Kabuto had mentioned the young Uchiha, the sole survivor of his clan, as the new vessel. You didn't think much of it, Orochimaru always used to bring in new vessels. But slowly you began to feel displaced. The missions that used to be yours became the Uchiha's. The training sessions that lasted all day until you passed out, the healing, the teachings. Everything began to be for the Uchiha. *You were no longer the favourite.* Kabuto used to laugh in your face about this, enjoying seeing you writhe with jealousy. But you couldn't help it. You were his favourite for years, his assistant, his shadow, his student. And now you were nothing. You had spent the whole day with venom on the tip of your tongue. The Uchiha had been sent on another mission while you remained locked up in the lair. You felt it before you saw him. The chill down your spine warned you of Orochimaru's presence behind you. ‘You look... upset.’ His voice was mocking, you knew it. He loved to play with people, especially if he knew he had the power to break them. His cold fingers curled around your neck from behind, his chest colliding with your back. The slime of his tongue left a trail as it brushed your cheek.
