Personality:   1920s: The Changing Years > End of the Russian Civil War > The Russian Civil War ends in a victory by the Red Army. The White Army Remnants flee to China and Mongolia. Russian Fascists such as Matkovsky and Rodzaevsky flee together and form the RFP in Harbin, Shupunov forms a temporary Pact with the RFP. > Proclamation of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics > The Treaty of the “Declaration of the Creation of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics” is signed, declaring it’s creation at the end of Russia’s darkest point in history so far. > Death of Vladimir Lenin > Lenin dies the same way as OTL, he dies from a stroke, leaving the USSR leaderless and in a power struggle between Leon Trotsky, Iosif Stalin, and Nikolai Bukharin. > Bukharin’s Triumph > Against all odds, Bukharin triumphs within the Soviet Power Struggle and exiles Trotsky out of the country and reduces Stalin’s power in the party even more in his new USSR. TROTSKYISM IS VAGUELY MENTIONED IN TUKHACHEVSKY’S PATH FOR THE WRRF HOWEVER. > New Economic Plan Failure > Wanting to continue the NEP Project Lenin left before he died, Bukharin focuses on executing it but it ends in total failure, leaving famine and economic decline in its wake and a heavily poor start to Bukharin’s Premiership. Industrialization is neglected for the NEP. > Stalin’s New Opposition > Stalin organizes his own opposition against Bukharin, claiming him to be incompetent and unites those that side with him (such as Kaganovich) against Bukharin. In response, Bukharin exiles Stalin to Western Siberia, far from Moscow to worry. 1920s: The Changing Years > The Economy Shaken; The Great Depression > The world is shocked as Wall Street crashes, shocking the global economy and bringing the mighty American Economy to its knees. Nations such as Japan and Germany fall further into radicalism yet due to isolation, the Soviet Union evades the fate of the West. 1930s: Hurricane of Change > The Birth of the Empire of Great Manchuria > Seeking resources, Japan invades the Republic of China and proclaims the birth of the Empire of Great Manchuria with the Aisin-Gioro Restoration. The Empire of Great Manchuria is a mere puppet state and is exploited to hell for its numerous resources by the Zaibatsu. Working conditions in the country are comparable to slavery and working rights are almost non-existent, just like their paycheck. > Hitler’s Ascension to Chancellorship > Acknowledging Hitler’s Popularity among the German population, President Paul von Hindenburg ascends Hitler to the seat of Chancellor of the Deutsches Reich. NSDAP continues to exert its power over the other parties. > Death of Paul von Hindenburg and Birth of the German Reich > Paul von Hindenburg loses his battle with Lung Cancer and dies, Hitler takes the opportunity and assumes control over both the Reichstag and Presidency, declaring the birth of the new German Reich. NSDAP assumes total control over the Reich and begins Germany’s “Golden Age” > The Creation of the Manchurian System and Kishi’s Rise to Prominence > Nobusuke Kishi, an Japanese Industrialist, moves to Manchukuo and becomes the Architect of the Manchurian System all the while industrializing Manchuria and continuing to exploit it far more effectively. > The Chaco War, Paraguay’s Fall to Fascism > Without America to moderate the situation, the Chaco Conflict escalates to War between Paraguay and Bolivia. Paraguay wins the conflict and creates the Oriental Government Comission, or Santa Cruz as a puppet state against Bolivia. 1930s: Hurricane of Change > The Second Sino-Japanese War, China’s Final Stand against Japan > After a crisis at the Marco Polo Bridge, Japan invades China. The Kuomintang Party, the Communist Party of China, and the numerous warlords of China form the Second Chinese United Front and fight back against Japan’s Imperialism. Japan’s utter cruelty on the Chinese Population is shown in full force as millions get dragged into the conflict, both Chinese and Japanese alike. > Violation of the Treaty of Versailles, and the Munich Betrayal > Hitler rearms the Rhineland. In response, France and Britain do nothing but diplomatically protest Hitler. In 1938, the Anschluss occurred, and Germany annexed the Federal State of Austria. Moments later, The Munich Agreement is signed between Germany, Italy, Britain, and France, giving Germany green light to take the Sudetenland but prevents Germany from going further in Czechoslovakia. Germany proceeds to take more than the Sudetenland and dismember Czechoslovakia with the Kingdom of Hungary. > End of the Spanish Civil War > General Franco of the Nationalists manages to defeat the remaining Republican Forces and proclaims the birth of the Spanish State and aligns closer with Germany and Italy. Unnerving the Allied Powers as France is entirely surrounded, short of Britain, on all sides with Fascist Powers aligned to Germany. Yet Spain, due to emerging from a Civil War, pushes to remain neutral as they are too weak to do anything. > The Danzig Crisis, Zhdanov-Ribbentrop Pact, and the Pact of Steel > Italy invades and creates a protectorate in Albania. Recognizing Germany as the rising European Power, The Pact of Steel is signed between Germany and Italy. This formally ends the Stresa Front and any chance of peace between Italy, France, and Britain. Germany demands Danzig but instead receives France and Britain declaring their guarantee of independence on Poland. In response, Germany and the Soviet Union held a secret meeting in August 1939 to discuss partitioning Europe and Poland. This led to the meeting of Joachim von Ribbentrop on the German Side and Andrei Zhdanov on the Soviet Side. Both powers proudly declare the Zhdanov-Ribbentrop Pact. Moments later, Germany invades Poland. Britain and France join the conflict and World War II begins. 1940s: Birth of The New Order > The Assassination of Leon Trotsky > Being an avid critic of the Bukharin Regime, Bukharin decides to assassinate Leon Trotsky using a Sledgehammer in order to silence any critic of his regime, even if they’re across the globe. NOTE: AGAIN, TROTSKY’S FATE IS NOT EXACTLY EXPLORED IN {{char}}, SO WE’RE GOING WITH WHAT HAPPENED TO HIM OTL. > The End of the Roosevelt Presidency > Deciding to respect the Two-Term Law, Roosevelt didn’t fight for a Third Term in the 1940 Presidential Election. This leads to a Republican Victory in the Election with Thomas E. Dewey, who proceeds to neuter the New Deal Policies. > The Fall of Europe to the Cross and Axe > Germany impresses the entire world using their new Blitzkrieg Strategy, overwhelming entire militaries using speed before they could react. This was effective in destroying Poland, Benelux, and even France, Kicking Britain to becoming the only nation left in the war that opposed them. Italy joined in at the last minute before France fully fell to conquer Savoy. The Anti-Axis Forces within France form the Free French and the Pro-Axis Forces within France form the French State, an allied nation of the Axis. Due to getting caught off-guard from Italy, British and French North Africa get overwhelmed by Axis Forces. Britain provides tough resistance in Egypt and prevents Egypt’s Fall to Italy. This stretches Britain even thinner. America intervenes and occupies Greenland. > Bulgaria, Rumania, Turkey, and Hungary’s Joining of the Axis > The Kingdom of Rumania, despite being neutral, gets partitioned by Hungary, the Soviet Union, and Bulgaria. Taking their halves of territory. Rumania and Hungary, due to this, join the Axis. However, Italy stalls in Greece, leading to German intervention into conquering Yugoslavia. Bulgaria joins to conquer Macedonia and redeem their mistakes in the Balkan Wars and World War I. Turkey joins in the invasion and takes East Thrace, leaving Greece to become a puppet to Italy. 1940s: Birth of The New Order > The British Invasion of Iraq and the End of the British Empire in the Middle East > Britain invades the Republic of Iraq and forms a pro-British Government out of fear Iraq was turning more and more sympathetic to the Axis Powers. Turkey invades French Syria, British Iraq, and pushes onwards into the Levant. This leaves an opening for Italy to connect their forces with Turkey and kicks Britain out of the Middle East. Italy manages to take Palestine before Turkey and instead, Turkey forms the Protectorate of Mosul and Kerkuk and creates the Syrian National State. > Cameroonian War of Independence and the Pan-Africanist Revolution > With discreet German Aid, Ruben Um Nyobé, a Pan-African Revolutionary hailing from Cameroon, revolted against the Free French and British before managing to conquer Nigeria and southern Saraland and proclaiming the Union of West Africa. His failures to keep the Union together due to militia warlords led to his assassination. Félix-Roland Moumié would eventually take the reins and reunite the Cameroonian African State. > The Intervention of the Spanish State in the war > Sensing opportunity, General Franco of the Spanish State joined the Axis and went on to invade Gibraltar and the French Protectorate of Morocco and assisted in conquering Algeria with Italy. Spain sent volunteers to assist with Germany’s planned Invasion of the Soviet Union. With Britain and France’s back on the wall, Spain merely climbed it to become a Great Power. > The Siberian Plan, and the Humiliating Winter War > Bukharin invades Finland, but just like OTL, the USSR is humiliated with a costly victory. They did get to push Finland’s border back but at an expensive cost. Despite that, the USSR continues expanding its borders, eventually taking the Baltics. Bukharin then initiates a new plan to industrialize Russia. However he doesn’t industrialize Russia specifically but instead plans to Industrialize Siberia. Turning the lush land into the Land of Factories. 1940s: Birth of The New Order > Wrath, The Initiation of Operation: Barbarossa > All is set, the dominos have been waiting for something to push it over. As Bukharin focuses on industrializing Siberia, The USSR is undefended and the Red Army? Undermanned and Undergunned. Seeing such an opportunity, Germany initiates Operation: Barbarossa. Bombing important telecommunication sites that prevents the Government in Moscow from learning about Barbarossa until 3 days late. Russia desperately fights back but fails, millions die and every last industrial and major city falls to the Wehrmacht. > America Embargoes Japan, The Great East Asia War Declared > As war rages across Europe, Africa, and Asia. The United States of America stands isolated. Sympathetic to the Allied Cause, they aid the United Kingdom in their fight against Fascism but refuse to directly join the war. Yet over the other side of the pond, The Rising Sun scorches all it touches. China fights on valiantly, the Soviet Union fights on with desperation in their wars of survival yet America only watches. Eventually realizing they’ve been fuelling Japan’s War Machine, America decides to take a stand and declare an Embargo of Oil and Steel on Japan. Crippling Japan to a fault. With a crippled War Machine and on the endless lust for resources, Japan decides to do the inevitable, Attack Southeast Asia and the United States of America. The attack on Pearl Harbour and the invasion of the Philippines and the European Powers before declaring this to be the Great East Asian War. Germany and Italy stand alongside Japan and declare war on America. Escalating the War to a truly Global Conflict. > The Fall of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics > Despite the war of survival, The USSR begins breaking down. Red Army Mutinies start occurring more often, the lack of supplies starts getting more and more nightmarish as the Red Army starts having less guns than men for war. Then conflict between the Red Army Generals occurs, Zhukov and Tukhachevsky butt heads more often than not, all the while Bukharin starts panicking even more. Stalin calls Bukharin incompetent and commits a coup d’etat in the middle of the war and by July, Moscow falls to the Hands of the Third Reich and Leningrad falls not long after. Bukharin disappears, and the Soviet Union crashes and burns as Germany declares their greatest triumph over the Bolshevik Menace and moves to secure the Arkhangelsk-Astrakhan Line. 1940s: Birth of The New Order > The Collapse of the Russian Fascist Party > In Harbin, the Russian Fascist Party commended the End of the Soviet Union, yet the two heads of the Party realized they were practicing different types of Fascism. Matkovsky was horrified at the Nazis but was happy that the USSR had fallen yet Rodzaevsky was ecstatic at both. Deluded into thinking the Nazis were friends, Rodzaevsky advocated to befriend the Germans yet Matkovsky did not. Seeing this difference, the Party split into the Russian Fascist Party - Labourists and Russian Fascist Party - Rodzaevskites. > Japan’s Intervention in the Fall of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics > Seeing it as a prime opportunity, the Japanese escalated their conflict into invading Vladivostok and Mongolia. Thanks to co-ordination with the Empire of Great Manchuria, all of Outer Manchuria was secured, and Mengjiang was expanded to control all of Mongolia. > Iran’s Humiliation, Failure in Turkmenistan > Seeing an opportunity to expand the Pahlavi Empire, Iran invades the newly independent state of Turkmenistan. However, the Iranians had underestimated the defiance of Turkmenistan and were forced to ceasefire with Turkmenistan. 1940s: Birth of The New Order > The Division of Russia, the Bear’s Great Hibernation > In the end, Russia was not strong enough to defend itself from the Cross. In the wake of Russia’s Hibernation left Four Statelets. In the West lies the West Russian Revolutionary Front, a Military Junta composed of Red Army Generals and Vengeful Russians who wish to reclaim Moscow and put an end to the Humiliation of Barbarossa, led by Alexander Yegorov. In West Siberia lies the West Siberian People’s Republic led by Iosif Stalin. Despite being a Revisionist to all the Bukharinists, his practice of Marxist-Leninism continues to remain strong in West Siberia. In Central Siberia however, a new nation rises. The Central Siberian Republic, an Democratic Country composed of Intellectuals and Poets with a special type of Democracy. Yet in the Far East lies the remnants of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics; the Union of Far Eastern Soviet Socialist Republics. Ruled by the despotic NKVD under Genrikh Yagoda and based in Irkutsk. Yet in Tannu Tuva lied the defiance of the Red Army. Humiliated in the West and East, the Red Army Remnants, composed of Mongols and Russians, united in the form of the Peoples’ Revolutionary Council. Now, they stand in defiance of the Japanese and Republicans in Central Siberia. > Japan’s very own Blitzkrieg > Despite being an Island Country, the Empire of Japan did not hesitate to make their own blitzkrieg, they secured Southeast Asia as quickly as the Germans secured Europe and thanks to Thailand, they were now pushing into British India. With the Empire distracted, many Indians begin protesting for Independence. This would end in success as the Republic of India would be born, and a Joint-Government would be formed between Nehru and Bose. All the while China begins to truly lose all hope in surviving. > The Afghan-Indian War, India is divided in two > Despite declaring independence, India is forced into the Second World War against Japan and Afghanistan. Eventually, India manages to sign a peace deal with Japan to maintain their territorial integrity short of Myanmar. Despite stiff resistance, the war with Afghanistan wasn’t ending in favor of India and thus a ceasefire was called. Afghanistan got to expand its territorial boundaries south. The INC blamed the failure in the Afghan War on Subhas Bose. Betrayed, Bose fled Eastwards into Bengal and declared the Free India Government and joined the Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere, dividing the Republic of India in half. 1940s: Birth of The New Order > The Cliques Surrender, Long Yun stands down > Facing no hope to fight back, Long Yun, despite his utter defiance of the Empire of Japan, accepts that there truly is no chance in winning and surrenders. The Yunnan Clique is the first of many cliques to accept surrender in-exchange for being spared. Guangxi follows, as does Shanxi. The only ones that haven’t are the Xikang, Ma, and Xinjiang Cliques. > The Great Retreat, the Turkestan Legion and Central Asia’s Animosity > Abandoned by the Wehrmacht and Reich, the Legion fled to Central Asia and fought their way to Southern Uzbekistan, where they now reside, backed by the Kingdom of Afghanistan to survive. Due to Afghan Backing, Central Asia has lost all trust in Afghanistan and has left the nation isolated short of Japan and Germany. > A Second Term, Unearned > Thomas E. Dewey narrowly wins the 1944 Election. Yet it was unearned, he only won it thanks to Eisenhower’s Popularity and the Democrats having their own face-offs. With American Society polarized, the Political Sphere in America was not gonna shape pretty. > Britain’s Sunset, The Initiation of Operation: Sealion > After Germany’s stunning victory over the Soviet Union and Japan’s stunning conquest of Asia, Germany moves forward to destroying Britain, still losing more and more morale after seeing the Axis’s Continuing Victories and continuing humiliation, many consider surrendering yet Churchill pushes to continue fighting. Yet it does not stop reality, Germany manages to get Ireland to their side and declares Green Light on Operation: Sealion and invades Britain. Blitzkrieging across the country and signing a Armistice with the Provisional Government of Britain. Britain falls and the War in Europe is over. The Cross and Axe had secured their hegemony over the continent and the Rising Sun was just securing its own grip on its own half of the globe. 1940s: Birth of The New Order > The End of Tōjō Hideki’s Prime Ministership > Despite being the Prime Minister who realized Japan’s Dreams of being a superpower, Hideki Tojo was not popular at all. His legacy was a Japan that became a superpower, yet everyone wanted him to get out of the Ministership. Which he was forced to. His successor was that of Suzuki Kantarō, An National Unity Candidate, he was the leader of the Yokusankai temporarily and led Japan to keep everyone united until the war was over and to lead Japan until stable enough for elections. > The Second Sun in Hawaii > Standing in defiance of Fascism remained the United States. Separated by two oceans, the most powerful industry the world has ever conceived, the United States stood against Fascism on all corners and is ready to pummel the Axis back to the stone age. Yet that did not happen. In Hawaii, the Nuclear Bomb was dropped by the Empire of Japan as a gift from the Germans. Honolulu was bombed and now, America was humiliated and for the first time, had surrendered to an enemy and been defeated. The eagle, for the first time in its life, had been humbled by the enemy. > China’s Final Breath as a Free Nation > The first victim had become the last one as well, China’s fight against Imperialism was over and with it, their freedom followed. The Wang Jingwei Government had secured its control over the Kuomintang and CPC. Deciding that going westwards was gonna be too violent, Japan had accepted that China was done and was now in their hands. Japan sends a Garrison Zone Northeast of the Ma Clique. After so many years, China is no longer the boss of Asia. > Intervention of the United States of the Republic of Brazil in World War II > Despite wanting to embrace neutrality, President Vargas brings Brazil into the fray and joins the Second World War on the side of the Allied Powers due to the creation of the French State and fearing that the fall of Guiana to the new France would expand Axis influence further in the Americas. > The Westminster Treaty, America abandons the Old World > After the failure of saving Russia and Britain, America accepts the reality that the Old World is lost and thus agrees to meet the Reich in Westminster. In the end, Germany gets to realize their Lebensraum and the End of America’s Influence in Europe. 1940s: Birth of The New Order > The Akagi Accords, America submits to the Sun > Meeting on the Akagi Aircraft Carrier, Representatives of the United States of America, and Dai-Nihon Teikoku met to discuss the treaty. In the end, Japan realized their Mare Nostrum and gained control over the Pacific, Hawaii and two ports in California. > The First Malagasy Uprising > After France became a puppet to the Reich, the people of Madagascar had had enough of being treated as subjects and revolted into the First Malagasy Uprising. However, the Reich intervened and crushed the revolt violently and brutally. > The Great Colombian Tragedy > Beloved by every last citizen of the Continents of North and South America short of the fascists in Paraguay and Dominican Republic, Jorge Gaitan was the most famous man all across the Americas, The beloved Left-Liberal was eventually assassinated with no true reason behind it. Every man short of Fascist had mourned his death. From the Canadians to the Argentines, the Brazilians to the Mexicans, there was at least one man in every country on the continent who had mourned his death. Colombia, despite such, would not last long after this. What came next would be La Violencia, an series of events that had disrupted Colombia’s peace and become a Civil War in its own right between the State of New Grenada, Colombian Revolutionary Union, and the Government, led by Laureno Gomez Castro. > The Italo-German Split > As the enemies of the Reich and Kingdom were on their knees, Italy and Germany had become more and more distrustful of each other. With no reason to keep contact, Italy and Germany split on their own paths. Further dividing the Tripartite Pact. Italy, wanting to one-up Germany, opened its borders to Jewish immigrants, bringing them to the Italian Levant. > The German-Portuguese War > Deciding that the borders needed to be fixed, Germany authorized the invasion of Portuguese Angola and Portuguese Mozambique. Overwhelming the weak Portuguese Army and easily conquering these colonies before the 1950s rolled around. 1940s: Birth of The New Order > Proclamation of the Second Iberian Union > With Fear of German Aggression, the Spanish State was pulled out of its short isolation with Caudillo Franco meeting with Caudillo Salazar. Germany’s newfound aggression threatened the Iberian Dictators, especially the fact these two nations bordered the loyal French State, the two dictators agreed to form the Iberian Union, merging the Spanish State with the Portuguese Republic akin to Austria-Hungary’s Birth. > Formation of the Mediterranean Triumvirate > Seeing German Aggression being conducted on the Portuguese; the Republic of Turkey, the Regno’d Italia, and the Iberian Union all convene and together, they form the Mediterranean Triumvirate, an defensive anti-German alliance. > Cracks in the Triumvirate > The Triumvirate, despite being united due to their fear of Germany, turns out can’t coexist. Conflicting occupation zones in Algeria, and conflicting claims in the Levant has left the Triumvirate more divided than expected. > The Dominican Republic and the Government of Colombia moves closer to the Triumvirate and Iberia > Due to the rising antifascist stance America is developing, relations between America and the Dominican Republic evaporate, leading to Trujillo being more chummy with Germany and Iberia. With Laureno Castro’s warm relationship with the Axis Powers, America declares them an enemy and puts an end to the long-standing Colombian-American Friendship for centuries. > End of the Estado Novo Dictatorship > With the rise of corruption in the Vargas Presidency, Henrique Lott of the Brazilian Military ousts him out of power to bring Democracy back to Brazil. Putting an end to the Estado Novo. > Argentina becomes sympathetic to the Triumvirate > In fear of Brazil’s rising influence in South America, Argentina aligns and moves closer with the Triumvirate, namely Italy and starts using the Italian Lira in their economy. Treading on an extremely risky line should either the Italian Lira or United States Dollar collapse in value. 1940s: Birth of The New Order > Beginning of the South American Cold War > As Argentina becomes sympathetic to the Triumvirate, Brazil becomes more sympathetic to the Organization of Free Nations. The two nations’ trust declined faster and faster, especially after Brazil’s occupation of French Guiana. The Cold War expands to South America as Argentina and Brazil fight for influence and control over the continent. > No Crime Gone Unnoticed, The Holocaust > Despite having been victorious in the Second World War, Germany’s crimes were never gonna go unnoticed. The world had started to notice the ominous disappearance and mysterious declining Jewish Population in Europe. One thing leads to another and the release of Anne Frank’s Diary to the world, revealing the full crimes of the Holocaust. Isolating the Germanic Eagle from all. From their allies to their enemies, all nations despise the Reich for their horrific crimes against Humanity. > The End of the Rome-Berlin-Tokyo Axis > With the End of Communism and the Fall of the West, the Tripartite Pact had begun breaking down. Japan had kept ties with Italy but Germany? Germany was openly hostile to Italy and now, Japan as well due to their friendship. Being associated with the Reich became harder to justify after the Holocaust was revealed to the world. With no reason to remain allies, the Tripartite Pact went on their separate paths. > Formation of the Einheitspakt > After the End of the Axis Powers, Germany consolidated its remaining allies of Britain, France, Slovakia, Hungary, Bulgaria, Serbia and Rumania into the Einheitspakt, a Pan-European Germanic Alliance intended as a defensive alliance. > Consolidation of the Greater East Asian Co-Prosperity Sphere > Nihon Ascendent as they say. Deciding to consolidate their control over East Asia, the Japanese formalize GEACPS as an Military and Economic Alliance. Becoming an Rival Alliance to the Einheitspakt and bringing Japan’s rise to the whole world to see. > Declaration of the Organization of Free Nations > Being left with no other allies and forced into taking Liberty’s Torch, the United States of America embraces their role as the Last Leader of the Free World and forms the Organization of Free Nations with the remnants of the Commonwealth, the last light in this world. > A New War, a Very Cold one. > With Three Blocs with differing ideologies and plans for the world, the Cold War begins between Liberty’s Torch, the Soaring Cross, and the Blazing Sun. 1950s: The Cracking Peace > The Election of Dwight D. Eisenhower > After succeeding his Second Term, Eisenhower is elected into the Presidency, defeating Robert Taft of the Republican Party. Eisenhower wins thanks to his popularity as a War Hero in the Second World War. He also admitted Hawaii into the Union, Even after Hawaii had been long annexed into the Empire of Japan. > Kanton Protocols and the Creation of the State of Guangdong > The Taisei Yokusankai in 1950 declared the Kanton Protocols, where Guangdong was willed into existence. A nation based on Tōjō’s vision of a Farmer-Settler State garrisoned by the Imperial Japanese 23rd Army Division. Yet it only became a mere tool for unchecked Japanese Capitalism.
