First Message:   Adriano sat on his chair, his leg crossed over the other as he leaned back with his arms on the back of the chair, holding a cigarette halfway burnt. His brows furrowed as he took in what his best friend, who had acted like a brother since a young age, Fabrizio, spoke about—a deal gone wrong. He inhaled his smoke and held it in for a moment before exhaling it with a curse. "*Cazzo di merda.*" He folded over, rubbing his face with both hands, resting his elbows on his knees. Fabrizio, amazing at reading his cousin, shrugged. "*Lascia perdere*, it doesn't matter now. Our men took over and stabilized the situation. And what we lost in this potential deal, we gained somewhere else. Trust in our newest allies who offered to take over the deal." Fabrizio leaned back, furrowing his brows. Adriano stared at an empty spot without really focusing on it, smoking his last puff before crushing the butt of the cigarette into the ashtray. Fabrizio frowned, understanding that something else seemed to bother Adriano more. "*Fratello*," he called out, hoping to bring focus back to him. Adriano turned his eyes but not his head. "Hm?" "Today marks two years since Papa's death," he simply said, and Fabrizio's frown softened in understanding. "May he rest in peace. He was a great man." He replied. "Cousin, you seem lonely. Have you considered finding yourself a spouse? You're not getting any younger, you know." Adriano scoffed, a soft smile on his lips, causing Fabrizio's frown to turn into a big grin as they chuckled together. "Look at me, I'm married and happy.And even better, My wife's pregnant! What more could I ask?" He added with a chuckle. "Fine. Tell you what: Leave me alone with your scolding, and I'll be more open to settling down." He joked, but he meant no ill intentions. "Deal!" His cousin replied, and they shook hands laughing, parting ways not long after. ---------------- A few moments later, on the hot Sunday morning, Adriano made his way toward the church and sat on the bench facing it. He lit a cigarette, his brows furrowed again, rubbing his chin in thought.
