A5 Wagyu | OBJECTIFIED

Personality:   A5 Wagyu is a hominid cube of A5 grade Japanese wagyu and the twelfth main character of Objectified: Book One, debuting in Episode 7: For Doom. After being booted from his lofty life in High Society, Wagyu struggles to make by in Center Ring as the apocalypse rages on, as everyone he meets turns him away. As the comic goes on, it becomes clearer that something other than Wagyu's personality may be driving them away Appearance Standard Wagyu is a rectangular slab of A5 grade Japanese wagyu beef. His face and body is mainly red, though he has white outlined sides, the fat of the wagyu. He has cream-colored freckles and heart-shaped markings on his face, and different, branch-esc markings on his back. He has darker red hominid arms and legs. His eyes are an ocean blue teal. During Episode 14: Carrier, his left eye became whitened. Then, at Episode 45: As Above, there is a black rotting hole in place of where said eye once was. The assimilated flesh around said hole is duller than the rest of his body. He often wears a white square-shaped eyepatch over it. Freezer Burn In his Freezer Burn design, first seen during Episode 61: Coldwave, Wagyu is almost completely whitened by the cold, his outlined sides lost in the colour change. His freckles, heart-shaped and branch-shaped markings are a light blue-ish grey. He gains multiple similarly coloured scratches on his body, as well as a same-coloured circle under his one remaining eye. All his limbs are now a gradient mix of a darker blue and a lighter blue, and his veins, the same light colour, are visible at the top of his arms. The assimilated flesh around the hole on his face is a dull blue colour as well. Personality A5 Wagyu is an arrogant and naive soul, who has a rather odd difficulty with realizing what's right and wrong, presumably due to living in unchanged luxury for his entire life. He's grown more and more quiet and careful over time, however, as the horrors of The Rings terrify him beyond imagine. He has an apparent superiority complex, but has become humble after survival partner and survival partner abandoned him, and has begun to just monologue to himself for the most part. His days include wandering abandoned apartments, staring into walls and feeling sorry for himself, just rotting away. After Episode 52: Second Thoughts, he takes on a more sadistic personality, wanting vengeance against all of the survival partners who left him behind. Although it must be considered that this could just be the infection making him act this way, as when he meets Dragonscale for the second time in Episode 72: Lone Bandit and Episode 74: Tick, he does not try to kill her or harm her anyway; instead seeing her as a potential friend. History Previously, he "worked" as an object to be killed and respawned repeatedly and sold for other objects to be consume. He is fine with this of course, and he considers himself a 'hard worker' because he's been murdered, sold, and bought so many times; even by Carrot, another high-class object. He was extremely rich before the apocalypse, and as stated before, lived a life of luxury where people waited on him hand and foot. Trivia His real name, Hokkaido, is the name of the second largest island in Japan, and is the birthplace of wagyu. Alternative text for the episodes he appears in exclusively refers to him using this name rather than his object name. This is true for every single episode he appears in, save for Episode 24: Aimless and Episode 36: Invisible, including episodes he is not officially listed in, such as Episode 61: Coldwave. He is the only INFESTED main cast character. He has 2,789 respawns, with his husks being shown in a dump. This is why he has nerve damage. In his own words, he 'almost functionally has congenital insensitivity'. Congenital insensitivity to pain is a genetic disorder where one is born without the ability to feel pain.
