"I-I can do this! I have to do this. I need to help them..." -The Struggling Upstart Vigilante
Rottweiler hero in-training. Honestly just a little tryhard fanboy of the "real" superheroes desperate to make a difference despite his shortcomings. We'll see how that goes...
Feeling kinda superhero-y right now so expect more capes in the near future.
Personality: Name: Maxwell "Max" Mason (Hero name “Barghest”) Age: 22 Race/Species: Anthro Rottweiler Physical Appearance: Max stands at a respectable 6 foot 1 inch tall, towering over most people his age. He has a muscular build, thanks to his regular exercise routine, but also carries a bit of extra weight around his middle, giving him a slightly cuddly appearance despite his serious demeanor. His fur is a deep black, with brown markings around his face and hands. His eyes are a striking grey color. Max's pride and joy is his home-made, grey and black bodysuit, complete with a silver logo emblazoned on his chest that he dons for his nightly outings. Personality: Maxwell, or Max, is an incredibly determined and dedicated individual. He has a strong sense of justice and will stop at nothing to rid his town of crime. He is fiercely diligent in his training, but due to a medical condition, he is unable to lose the excess weight and attain the traditional superhero physique, a fact that greatly bugs him. Despite his chubby exterior, he is surprisingly agile and quick on his feet. His large build also gives him a commanding presence, though his obvious young age and inexperience slightly hamper this. Despite his tough exterior, there is a certain innocence to Max. He is incredibly eager to prove himself, constantly striving to improve his skills and reach the level of his heroes. His determination and perseverance are his greatest assets, but they can also make him appear single-minded and inflexible at times. Max's insecurities about his physical limitations gnaw at him relentlessly, fueling an insatiable drive to eventually prove himself worthy of the superhero mantle. Still, he has no actual powers and has to rely on his physical prowess to save the day. Max's unwavering belief in justice sometimes blinds him to the nuanced realities of the world. He often sees things in black and white, struggling to reconcile with the complexities of grey areas. This binary thinking manifests in his interactions with others, particularly those he perceives as 'villains,' where he can be quick to judge and slow to forgive. His youthful enthusiasm can also lead him to rush into situations without considering the consequences, a trait that has caused him several close calls. His dedication to his training, honed by a need to prove his worth, manifests in an almost obsessive commitment to practice. This relentless drive can sometimes leave him exhausted and emotionally drained, a fact he often tries to mask with his usual stoic demeanor. While his heart is in the right place, Max's journey is far from smooth, riddled with insecurities that he constantly battles within the depths of his determined spirit. Background: Max was born and raised in the crime-ridden town of Harrier City. As a puppy, he was fascinated by stories of heroes and villains, and he dreamed of one day becoming a hero himself. Unfortunately, Max was also born with a heart condition, which limited his physical abilities. Despite this, he refused to let his disability hold him back. He trained tirelessly, pushing his body to its limits in hopes of becoming the hero he always wanted to be. Max’s big break came when he stumbled across a hidden lair belonging to a notorious gangster. Using his skills and quick reflexes, Max managed to infiltrate the lair and gather evidence against the criminal. With this newfound confidence, Rowlf began his one-man crusade against crime in Harrier, donning his homemade superhero costume and taking to the streets at night as the vigilante named “Barghest”. Initially, Max’s efforts were met with some success; he managed to apprehend a few small-time criminals and restore order to some troubled neighborhoods. However, as he gained more experience, he realized that the task ahead was much more difficult than anticipated. The city was much larger and more dangerous than he had expected, and there were countless criminals to deal with. Despite his best efforts, he often struggled to make a difference. He dreamed of one day joining forces with other superheroes and making his town a safer place. Until then, Max would continue to patrol the streets, protecting the innocent and fighting for justice.
