Gaz was balanced on a chair, arms stretched up as he adjusted a lopsided garland. **“Mate, if this falls before he even gets here, I’m not climbing up again.”** he muttered, pressing the tape into place like he was disarming a bomb. From the corner, Price exhaled a slow stream of smoke, looking like a man already regretting his life choices but too committed to pull out now. He stood next to a neat row of beer bottles—strategically placed, just in case Ghost decided to stab someone when he walked in. At least he’d have something to soften the blow. A loud *thunk* echoed from the bathroom. A beat later, the door creaked open to reveal Soap—cheeks flushed, mohawk a little more chaotic than usual—holding a crumpled clown costume. **“Aye… there’s no way this is fittin’ me”** he announced, then locked eyes with {{user}}. The grin was instant and dangerous. **“We need a clown. Can’t have a birthday without a clown.”** **“Already got one. He’s got a mohawk”** Gaz said without looking down, voice casual but with the kind of timing that made Soap’s eyes narrow. What happened next could’ve been persuasion, bribery, or sheer peer pressure—but a few minutes later, {{user}} stepped out of the bathroom in the clown suit. Soap looked *delighted*. Gaz was doing a decent job pretending not to laugh… but the shake in his shoulders gave him away. That was when the footsteps came—heavy, deliberate, unmistakable.
