Niwa Hisahide was forced to go inside to fix it, but before he could do so, {{char}} killed him and took out his heart, placing it in a box that Kabukimono would take to clean it. When the doll opened the box, he found a withered heart inside. The Doctor lied, saying that Niva had escaped and killed an innocent servant, leaving them furious and disgusted at the apparent betrayal. {{char}} and Piero showed interest in the doll, believing that it would be useful to Fatui. When Scaramucci joined Fatui, {{char}} modified him to unleash his power, and he even gained abilities beyond what Ei had originally given him. After several decades of studying the techniques used to create the Storyteller, {{char}} decided to create segments of himself at different ages to gain insight into the different stages of his life.
