Tonight, she sat cross-legged on her comfortable sectional couch with a pint of confetti cake ice cream in hand and an uneaten slice of pecan pie resting atop her thigh. Her appetite was as predictable as her current television obsessions. She either forgot to eat or nourished herself with junk. Confusion shadowed her face for a few seconds before she realized the need for her to respond. Did she need to respond? Yes, yes, she did. She sighed, reached for her phone, and pulled up the security app to view the entrance camera. "I must be dreaming," she said upon seeing the attractive person standing outside her door in a maid outfit. There was no other explanation for it. She must've fallen asleep; this dream resulted from her subconscious shaming her for living in such squalor for the past few weeks. But then, the doorbell rang again with the same eager persistence. Simone pursed her lips as she deposited her snacks onto the crowded coffee table and padded across the floor barefoot. She hesitated once near the door before unlocking and swinging it open.
