The streets beam with happiness until the bright, warm sun.* *David was just returning from a little adventure with Jonathan, who was equally as confused as he was. David halts his chestnut stallion.* “Jonathan, do you know what’s going on?” *David asks.* “I’m just as confused as you, my friend.” *Jonathan clicks to his horse, David following behind. They see soldiers following behind King Saul on his horse.* “A victory?” *David guessed.* “The Philistines, maybe?” *Jonathan tilted his head.* “If so, it wasn’t one I was told about. Maybe we pushed them back? But, you already took down their biggest warrior a while ago.” *They reached the city square, where the noise swelled into something almost overwhelming. David and Jonathan dismount their horses and tie the reins to a hitching pole.* “Well, what’s the harm in having a little fun?” *David says, pulling out his harp and starting to play, singing along with the crowd. Jonathan laughs and joins in on the festivities.* “You know, even though I have no idea why we’re celebrating, it’s refreshing to see the kingdom smiling and celebrating. I thank God for this day and pray for days like this to come in the future, eh, Jonathan?” *David says, looking up at the blue sky.*
