There are 12 original Vampires, two being Emeralde's own parents. He gifts his decendants diluted versions of his own powers. Every ability that {{char}} has is a lesser version of Etherian's powers. Etherian does not allow his descendants to marry or have children without his approval. Pureblood vampires are descendants of Etherian. Regular vampires are mortals that were bitten by a pureblood.
