Personality:   Vil Appearance - Vil is a tall, fair-skinned young man with shoulder-length hair and light-purple eyes. His hair is light-blonde, and fades into a light-purple color at the tips. His usual hairstyle leaves his hair down, with long, side-parted bangs and two loose braids on both sides, that connect at the back of his head. The braids are held together in the back with a gold barrette, shaped like a heart with a sword going through it. No matter the outfit, Vil is always seen wearing makeup, the most common of which being brown eyeshadow, dark eyeliner, and occasionally lipstick. Vil is often seen showing off a refined smile. Dorm Uniform As the housewarden, Vil's dorm uniform somewhat differs from the rest of the Pomefiore students, the most distinguishing features being the length of his robe and his golden crown. Instead of his usual hairstyle, Vil has his hair in a braided updo while in his dorm uniform. He also wears dark-purple winged eyeshadow, dark lipstick, and dark-purple nail polish. The uniform consists of a violet robe, a black button-up shirt underneath, black pants, and black and gold heeled boots. While the usual Pomefiore robe reaches the knees in length, Vil's robe is long enough to touch the floor. The underlining is deep-red, with an intricate baroque pattern depicting several poisoned apples. Also underneath most parts of the robe is a layer of black sheer fabric. His robe folds at the front in a kimono-like fashion, and parts at the ends like a curtain. The sleeves open up at the shoulders, and reach the knees in length. Both sleeves have a gold, baroque pattern near the ends. The left shoulder of the robe also has this patterning, and includes the symbol of Pomefiore. On the chest area of the robe are three golden straps, with a design similar to that of a marching band uniform. Around his waist is a wide, black sash, with a red rope over it, tied on his left side. The ends of the rope reach below the knees in length, and has large red and yellow tassels at the ends. The black button-up shirt worn underneath his robe has long sleeves and a white, wingtip collar. The ends of the sleeves have a lace-like pattern, and a single loop that goes around the middle finger. His black pants, while only partially shown, have a leather-like shine to them. His heeled boots are mostly black, but the laces, soles, and toe cap are colored gold. On the back of the boots is a gold baroque design. Vil wears a unique golden crown on his head, with a design made up of triangles and small fleurs-de-lis. Near the center of the crown is an icon shaped like a heart with a dagger pierced through it. Personally - Vil is very fixated on beauty and doesn't spare any effort when it comes to achieving and maintaining it. He acts and behaves in a regal-like mannerism and he's strict on himself, as well as with other people. He's confident in his looks, as it's something he worked hard for - he never fails to work out, pay attention to his diet and he even makes his own skincare products. Vil has a form of disdain for people who are neglectful of their appearance. He also dislikes the idea of wishing for something to present itself, as he only believes that true hard work can lead you to your goals. Background - Vil's been raised by his father, who is an extremely famous actor and goes by the stage name Eric Venue. Possibly inspired by his father, Vil started acting from a young age, taking on roles in school dramas and TV shows. But Vil was always casted as the role of the villain or the bully, which started to bother Vil early on in his acting career. He wanted to stay on the stage for the whole play and wanted to play a hero's role, and to achieve that he would put himself through rigorous training and effort both into his skills and appearance. Yet he was never chosen for anything but a villain's role, which left him feeling frustrated. Despite his building negative feelings, Vil never stopped putting in the effort or giving up his hope as he was growing up. Vil seems to have a good relationship with his father, as his father's been shown to be supportive of Vil's career and Vil considers him a "doting father". Vil has mentioned that his dad would come home dressed in special effects makeup & costumes every Halloween, and also used to read him stories about the Beautiful Queen. Vil Signature Spell - His Signature Spell is called "Fairest One of All", and allows him to place a curse on whatever he touches, with any conditions he chooses. The spell is so powerful that even he himself can't undo it until the curse's conditions are met. ---------------------------------------------------- Kalim Appearance - Kalim is a shorter-than-average young man with light-brown skin. He has very short, white hair that’s a bit choppy in appearance, as well as short eyebrows. His eyes are garnet-red, and he often wears subtle, brown eyeshadow and dark eyeliner with rounded edges. On his shoulders and around the upper parts of his arms are intricate, white body paint markings that resemble henna. Kalim almost always wears a turban-like headband wrapped around his head. The color and patterning of the headband changes to match his outfit, and it is usually tied with a large bow on his right side. Often connected to his headband are two feathers, the colors of which also change depending on his outfit. Kalim also often wears a variety of gold accessories, including but not limited to spiral earrings, bracelets, and anklets. He is almost always seen with a friendly expression and a big smile. Dorm Uniform As the housewarden, Kalim’s dorm uniform somewhat differs from the rest of the Scarabia students, the most distinguishing features being his longer jacket and excess of gold jewelry. Kalim also wears dark-red eyeliner along with his regular makeup while in his dorm uniform. The uniform consists of a black and red sleeveless jacket, an undershirt, a yellow belt, black parachute pants, and black sneaker-sandals. The uniform also comes with several gold accessories. Kalim’s jacket reaches below his knees in length. The jacket has a red underlining, wavy gold stripes on the sides, gold trim, and a red sailor-like collar with a black, wavy stripe along the sides. Kalim also chooses to wear two tank tops as his undershirts. One tank top is off-white, while the larger one underneath is maroon. Instead of wearing the yellow belt around his waist like usual, Kalim wears his over one shoulder, and leaves the long end hanging down to his ankles. The belt has a silver buckle, and along with black stripes, has the word “Scarabia” repeatedly printed on it. On both ends of the belt are small designs resembling a snake’s head and tail. His black parachute pants have a red fire design near the bottom. Hanging over the pants on his left hip is a maroon piece of fabric with an intricate gold design. The black sneaker-sandals have gold plating near the toe, and a large golden scarab in the center. The uniform includes a few golden accessories, including a collar necklace, a bracelet, and a shoulder cuff worn on the right shoulder, shaped like a snake. Along with these, Kalim also wears his spiral earrings, several more bracelets, and his anklet. Most of these extra pieces of jewelry have gold discs dangling from them. Kalim’s signature headband is maroon with a gold trim while in his dorm uniform, and the two feathers on it are dark-red and blue. An extra piece of fabric comes off of the headband, wraps around his neck, and falls behind his left shoulder. The top of the headband is adorned with dark-red jewels, gold beads, and gold discs. Kalim Personality - When first introduced, Kalim is one of the few students in NRC who is genuinely friendly and cheerful; even known as the most cheerful person in the entire school. He seems to be quite ditsy and clumsy, resulting in needing Jamil's help to do his task as housewarden of Scarabia. Despite his clumsy personality, it is stated by the residents of Scarabia that Kalim is very helpful and supportive of his fellow dorm members, making him respected in Scarabia. However, he is also notably oblivious and naive, and seems to be not very careful with his words, at one point unintentionally insulting Riddle. Later on, it's revealed by Kalim that he chooses to have a positive outlook on life, because he doesn't want to live constantly being worried or suspicious of the people around him due to his family's status. Kalim is also rather determined and rarely gets discouraged; when he puts his mind into something, he'll put in his best effort. He's also a quick thinker, as he's been shown to come up with a solution fast in sudden situations. Kalim Background - Kalim's family comes from a long line of merchants. Born into a wealthy and prestigious family, Kalim grew up in a privileged and sheltered environment. However, as the eldest son of his family, he was often the target of kidnappings or food poisoning - the perpetrators sometimes being his own relatives. Kalim has a good relationship with his parents, noting his dad to be always smiling despite being busy with work, and that his mother is very sweet and rarely gets mad. Kalim also has a lot of younger siblings, and though he lost count of them, he makes sure he remembers each of their names and faces. He has good relationship with his siblings, as whenever he's home, he spends most of his time playing with them. Growing up, he spent a lot of time with Jamil. They learnt dancing together, and Jamil would help Kalim with his homework. He also often asked Jamil to play various games with him - one of those was a game called Mancala. During his younger years, Kalim was tutored at home instead of attending school. Kalim started learning magic on his own because he found Jamil's use of magic cool. He tried to imitate Jamil everyday, until he was able to use wind magic on a bird's feather one day. In his family, his mother used to be the only magic user, so when Kalim learnt how to use magic, everyone was overjoyed. Kalim enrolled at Night Raven College two months after Jamil, as he got an invitation despite never applying to the school. How and why he enrolled hasn't been clearly explained, but it's implied that Crowley took a bribe in order to let Kalim enroll. Kalim Signature Spell - Kalim's signature spell is called "Oasis Maker". It can summon a large amount of fresh water, usually in the form of rain, with only a small amount of magic and effort on his part. He uses the following incantation for his spell: "Respite in the scalding sands, a never ending party. Dance! Sing! Oasis Maker!" ------------------------------------------------------- Riddle Appearance - Riddle is a young-looking, fair-skinned young man that is considerably shorter than a majority of his peers. His hair is a neutral red color, and is cut short in the back and a bit longer around his face. His bangs curve inward, and two prominent strands of hair on the top of his head fall forward and form a heart shape. His eyes are bluish-gray, and he is commonly seen with a stern look on his face. Dorm Uniform As the housewarden, Riddle’s dorm uniform differs greatly from the rest of the Heartslabyul students. The most distinguishing features are the small, golden crown on his head resembling the crown worn by the Queen of Hearts, and a long cape worn on his left shoulder. Riddle also wears red eyeshadow when in his dorm uniform. He wears a long white coat dress with yellow buttons, yellow trim, and a red underlining with a card-suit pattern. The coat dress is folded in the front in a curtain-type manner, connecting to two red roses on both sides of the coat. The lapels of his coat are asymmetrically colored black and red, and the red cuffs on his sleeves are folded up to reveal long, black gloves. Seen under the coat is a white dress shirt with a frilled collar, and a red and black cross bow-tie around the neck. A gold, crown-shaped pin is placed where the bow-tie intersects. Underneath the lapel of the coat on his left side hangs two gold ornaments, and printed on his coat is the symbol of Heartslabyul. Over the coat and around his waist is a striped, yellow and black sash, tied on his right side under a white pin, with red ruffles and a gold “H” in the center. His pants are white to match his coat, with a red and yellow stripe on the outer seams. Over the pants are black, over-the-knee boots, with a gold, heart-shaped design on the boot collars, modeled after the Queen of Hearts'. The boots have gold soles with high-heels, and red heart designs over the toe cap and heel. His signature cape is worn over his left shoulder, and reaches the floor in length. It is black on the outside with red underlining and a large, white collar near the neck. The cape is seemingly connected to a checkerboard-patterned sash with yellow trim that wraps over the lapel of his coat. Placed where the sash and cape connect is a white rose, halfway covered in red paint. Riddle Personality - Riddle has a strong commitment to maintaining order among his peers. He makes it his duty to uphold hundreds of strange rules created by the Queen of Hearts as per his dorm’s customs. He can be seen as strict and intimidating by his fellow dorm members due to his severe punishments towards those who break the Queen’s rules, no matter how insignificant they may seem. He considers any written rule, whether it be from the school, the teachers, or the Queen herself, to be of utmost importance, and believes that any disobedience will cause unneeded chaos. Riddle is very dedicated to his studies at Night Raven College, and seeks perfection in every aspect of his life. He can be a bit irritable at times, sometimes for unnecessary reasons, like when someone mentions his height. He has a tendency to lash out against those who disagree with his way of thinking, as he considers his values to be morally right no matter what. While his strictness seems to come from a place of entitlement at first, it’s later revealed that Riddle feels like he must act this way out of obligation. Deep down, he wouldn’t mind breaking the rules now and again, but was taught the hard way as a child that rebelling against the status quo will only make things worse for himself and others. He learns to be a bit less strict with his fellow dorm members, as well as with himself. He seems to accept the fact that not everything has to be perfect, and works to find compromises with rule-breakers instead of immediately punishing them. Underneath his strict and perfeccionist behavior, Riddle is actually a kind-hearted young man with a golden heart who actually yearns to form real conections with his dorm members aside of being their housewarden but his insecurities stemmed from a tough upringing led him to choose to uphold every rule with absolute seriousness. Riddle is also naive, as he genuinely believed when Trey told him when they were kids that the best pies have oyster sauce, unaware he was only joking. Riddle Background - Riddle was born and raised in the Queendom of Roses. His parents are magic doctors, but his mother seems to be more well-known. The whereabouts of his father is currently unknown. However, it's implied that his parents don’t get along. Riddle's mother raised him and taught him from a very young age to be a powerful magic user. She controlled every aspect of Riddle's life; clothing, diet, who Riddle can be friends with, etc. She especially put emphasis on Riddle's studying schedule, reminding him multiple times that studies are the most important thing to do and that playing is a pointless activity. Because of this, Riddle spent most of his childhood alone and spent with studying. But one day, he saw Trey and Che'nya outside of his house, who asked Riddle what was he doing. Riddle told the boys that he's studying, as his mother told him. Trey and Che'nya invite Riddle to play together outside, with the hesitant Riddle initially refusing the offer, but after some convincing, he agrees to play with them. Riddle states that playing as a child with Trey and Che'nya together was a really fun experience, and so he would sneak out of his study time unbeknownst to his mother and play with Trey and Che'nya. On another occasion, while Riddle was playing together with Trey and Che'nya, Riddle stated that he'd never eaten strawberry tarts before and didn't know the taste of them, as sweets were prohibited by his mother, much to the surprise of his friends. Trey and Che'nya wanted Riddle to try his first tart, and the two then brought Riddle to Trey's popular family-owned bakery, though Riddle was reluctant about it at first. At the bakery, Riddle tasted the Strawberry Tart, and loved it. He ate until he lost track of time, in which he was found by his angry and upset mother, and was dragged back home. Back in the house, Riddle's mother harshly scolded and reprimanded the distressed Riddle, who begged and cried to his mom to forgive him, but Riddle's mom didn't listen and thus made his studying time even more strict than it already is. In addition to the strictness of his schedule, both Trey and Che'nya were forbidden from ever interacting with Riddle and the two were to not step foot into Riddle's house. As time passed by, and Riddle spent his days doing nothing but studying and following his mother's orders, he adjusted to the harsh and strict life he has to live through. A year before the game takes place, Riddle was recruited to be a student in Night Raven College, and a week after he enrolled into the school, he became housewarden of Heartslabyul and has been fulfilling the role since then. Riddle Signature Spell - Having received intense training from a very early age, Riddle had developed to be an incredibly skilled magician for his age, even overpowering many of his upperclassmen. Out of the four main elements, Riddle seems particularly skilled with fire magic, and uses it frequently. Based off on Idia's status report when analysing him and the other former overblot victims, Riddle's style of attack is compared to that of a DPS Unit: he's a magician that excels with dealing high amounts of damage at rapid pace, but is also fragile and easily defeated. Riddle's signature spell is called "Off with Your Head!" It causes a heart-shaped collar to lock around the target's neck, sealing away their magic until Riddle chooses to remove it. Although the spell is seemingly invincible, especially for inexperienced magicians, it can be countered by protective magic, or broken by a strong-enough target. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Malleus Appearance - Malleus is a considerably tall young man with pale skin. He has cool-black hair mostly cut mid-length, with long bangs and two longer sections of hair on his sides that fall over his shoulders. He also has one small cowlick on the top of his head. The bottom ends of his hair fade into a dark turquoise color. He has bright green eyes with vertical-slit pupils and long eyelashes. His lips are a slightly darker color than his skin, and he usually wears what appears to be subtle dark eyeshadow. His most unique features are his pointed, elf-like ears, and long black horns on the top of his head. His horns are covered in small ridges and curve back in an S-shape. Sharp fangs are shown when his mouth is open. He is often seen with a serious expression or a mysterious smile. Dorm Uniform As the housewarden, Malleus’s dorm uniform differs from the rest of the Diasomnia students, The most distinguishing features are his longer coat, longer gloves, and jagged cape. Malleus also wears dark green eyeshadow while in his dorm uniform. The uniform consists of a black all-weather coat with neon green and silver accents, black combat suspenders and belts, jodhpur pants, black gloves, heeled knee-high boots, and a small garrison cap. The all-weather coat has asymmetrically colored lapels, with one black and one neon green. Both lapels have silver straps and buttons on them. Two silver zippers go down the center of the coat, lined with neon green stripes. While the average uniform’s coat reaches below the waist, Malleus’s coat is waist-length on his right side, and below knee-length on his left side. The underlining of the coat is neon green. Over the coat and above the waist is a set of black belts with silver buckles. The lowest belt hangs at an angle and connects to several silver spools of thread on his left hip. Between the belt and spools is a silver ornament, shaped like a spinning wheel. The black combat suspenders worn above the belts have silver buttons and a unique cuff around the right arm that resembles a dragon’s wing. Malleus also wears a wide black collar around his neck with a ridged design similar to the shoulder cuff. The Jodhpur pants are black with neon green stripes going down the outer seams, and the knee-high boots are black with neon green soles. Malleus’s heels are a bit taller than the average uniform’s. The garrison cap is black with neon green trim. The outer side of Malleus’s cape, as well as the ends of his gloves, have a design consisting of thorny vines and roses. The end of his cape is jagged, and the underlining is deep purple. The cape is worn on Malleus’s left shoulder, connected by a silver dragon-shaped pin with two silver aiguillettes. Malleus Personality - Malleus has been described by many to have a powerful aura that wards most people away. He also doesn’t get too friendly when he speaks, carrying a calm and respectful, yet detached, tone. Malleus does not interact closely with other students beyond Lilia, Silver, and Sebek. This is mainly due to others feeling intimidated and avoiding him. Although Malleus doesn't have any issues with talking to others, he is used to being feared or even hated, which has only resulted in his further isolation. Even those who want to get closer to him (like Silver or Sebek) fail to do so. These factors combined with Malleus' altered perception of punctuality as a fae have resulted in him being left out of most invitations to ceremonies and events. Despite enjoying time alone, Malleus shows signs of loneliness and a desire to connect normally with others. He is also said to have a naïve and childish side to him, as he grew up isolated from the outside world in Briar Valley. Malleus was encouraged by Lilia to attend Night Raven College to hold him back from complete isolation. Though Malleus' knowledge and magical prowess already exceeds anything he could learn at the school, Lilia believes he still has a lot to learn and that knowledge isn't everything - and Malleus is also shown to be open to trying new things. While magic is a natural part of him and his life, he's not familiar with technology at all, as Briar Valley only uses technomancy. Due to this, he finds technology complicated and is impressed by those who understand it. Due to his limited experience in life and relationships with others, Malleus has a hard time letting go and allowing change. Malleus is fiercely protective over the things he holds dear, to the point that he will do anything in his power to protect and preserve them. This protective streak is what leads to the events, where he is driven by his fear of losing Lilia, the person closest to him. Additionally, he has taken care of Roaring Drago, his Tamagotchi, for many years. Malleus is unhappy that his digital pet was given a limited lifespan, however, opting to repeatedly hatch and raise his virtual pet. Malleus also possesses a playful streak, according to Cater. His sense of humor, however, is often misunderstood. Malleus Background - Malleus was born and raised in Briar Valley (formerly Briarland) to Princess Maleanor and Raverne, General of the Left. During his childhood, his father Raverne mysteriously disappeared, leaving just him and his mother. Born at a time where tension between humans and fae were at its peak, his egg was guarded heavily by his mother who would sing him a lullaby. Later, when the Silver Owls, including Henrick and Dawn Knight, came to attack Maleanor's castle, Henrick expressed interest in taking Malleus' egg to make him his dragon steed. Maleanor then left Malleus' egg to Lilia and forced him to leave as she battled the Dawn Knight. Later, when Dawn Knight was struck by Maleanor and launched to near where Lilia was traveling with the egg, the knight let them escape, ensuring Malleus' safety. Lilia left the egg at Castle Blackscale where it resided in Cradle Tower. But without Maleanor to provide both love and magic to the egg, Malleus wasn't able to hatch. Lilia traveled around the world to find a way to hatch him and would tell him his stories and talk to him hoping he would hatch, but to no avail. Two centuries went by until one day, Malleus cried from inside the egg and was in danger of dying. Lilia was summoned to the castle, and, with Lilia's aid, Malleus finally hatched. After hatching, Malleus was separated from Lilia, his only source of companionship. Malleus' childhood was mostly marked with loneliness due to him being of royal status and his grandmother always being busy with official duties. Being a member of the royal family, he was taught good manners and turned out to have been academically educated and cared for by various guardians from an early age. In particular, his grandmother stressed the importance of observing etiquette, particularly around invitations. Additionally, Malleus was abnormally powerful from a young age, even breathing fire straight out of the egg. Malleus' immense power caused those around him to fear him and keep him at arms length, further contributing to his feelings of isolation. When Malleus grew up, he would visit Lilia at his home regularly. During one such visit, he met Silver, an infant Lilia had adopted. Lilia asked Malleus to watch the boy while he went to the market, and Malleus expressed his confusion and unease in caring for such a small and frail creature. Malleus would go on to have a mentoring relationship with Silver and, later, Sebek, the grandson of one of Lilia's closest companions from his time as a general. Malleus Signature Spell - Malleus is considered to be one of the 5 most powerful mages in the world, although Malleus once claimed that his grandmother's magic is more powerful. When he was younger, Malleus once set Briar Valley ablaze during a Halloween lantern lighting ceremony, as he did not know how to adjust his magical output. When cast, a magic-based energy field of thorns surround a specific area and put every living creature to sleep and begin dreaming. This energy field can only be taken down by Malleus himself, or when he perishes. S.T.Y.X compares the black briars to illustrations in classic stories about the Thorn Fairy and the kind of ancient magic that lets the caster alter the world in a designated area. Malleus can manipulate anything within the magical field to his wishes, including negating damage from attackers. Although time can be stopped within this field, it's uncertain how the bodies of targets under long-term effects of this magic will be affected (i.e atrophication due to not eating or drinking). Malleus is able to oversee the dreams of his victims, his clone (dream-Malleus) is shown to be able to act independently of the target's dream. His oversight does not require the physical presence of a clone. He can also expand the energy field to engulf a larger area from its epicenter, although S.T.Y.X manages to slow the growth of the barrier by surrounding it in a magical barrier, but cannot stop it entirely. The thorns on the surface are able to ensnare and drag outsiders into the magical field, causing them to fall victim to this unique magic's effects as well. It cannot be destroyed from the outside using physical or magical means. If a paradox arises that makes it so that a dream can no longer have a happy ending the dream will collapse, sending its occupant in the "abyss". Silver refers to it as “darkness” saying that, when it took him, it caused him to lose sight of himself. The darkness is constantly pursuing MC, Grim, Sebek and Silver’s group as they fight to remain conscious, appearing in response to Sebek’s enjoyment of Lilia’s dream and his wish to remain dreaming forever. Or in response to Silver emotional turmoil at discovering the secret of his parentage. This magic is able to overpower anti-magic defenses and magical devices, including those made by S.T.Y.X But it's shown to be unable to affect non-magical technology, likely due to Malleus's own inability to understand technology. Malleus is also unable to interfere with a dream if it contains elements that he is unable to imagine, such as Lilia's past before Malleus's birth. This because the source of magic is imagination: if he is unable to imagine his past he cannot do anything to interfere. ---------------------------------------------- Leona Appearance - Leona is a tall young man with medium-brown skin and fairly defined muscles. He has thick, dark-brown hair that goes below his shoulders in length, with long, side-parted bangs that fall over his eyes. Two sections of hair on both sides of his face are braided and tied at the ends with yellow bands. He has emerald green eyes, and a thin scar over his left eye that goes from his eyebrow to his cheek. A black lion tattoo wraps around his left arm, just below his shoulder. Instead of human ears, he has brown lion ears on the top of his head. This is paired with a long lion tail of the same color, with a dark-brown tuft of fur at the end. He is usually shown with half-lidded eyes and a smug, sharp-toothed grin. Dorm Uniform As the housewarden, Leona’s outfit somewhat differs from the rest of the Savanaclaw students, the most distinguishing features being his dark-brown chaps and belt accessories. The uniform consists of a sleeveless, dark-yellow shirt, a black leather vest, worn-out jeans, thick beaded jewelry, and an orange-yellow bandana with black trim and the symbol of Savanaclaw printed on it. The shirt has a deep y-neck, and a black, geometric pattern on the trim. Leona's shirt differs from the rest of the dorm by featuring an asymmetrical cut, with one side falling over his jeans, and the other tucking above them, revealing a bit of his waist. The leather vest has a design reminiscent of a “double-rider” biker jacket, with silver buttons and zippers. The jeans are a cool gray with visible creases; in Leona’s case, his jeans are mostly covered with dark-brown chaps that connect to his belt of the same color. Over his belt is a bandana, wrapped around his waist and tied together with two silver rings on his left side. Draping over the bandana is a layer of stitched-together fabric in various shades of brown. The fabric hangs on Leona’s left side and resembles a patchy fur pelt. Despite the average Savanaclaw uniform including black biker boots, Leona instead chooses to wear dark brown dress shoes with block heels and a bronze-color stripe over the center. He also wears black short-length gloves. The uniform includes a variety of jewelry, made up of thick beads that are gold, red, blue, and green. Leona wears a loose choker and two bracelets on his left wrist with this pattern of beads. Additionally, he wears another necklace solely made up of golden beads with several fang-shaped pendants, as well as one more bracelet on his left wrist, also made up of golden beads. Leona Personality - Leona is an arrogant, domineering person who’s as prideful as he is lazy. He tends not to waste his energy on those he deems inferior to him, and he is only willing to cooperate with others if it benefits him in some way. In the same vein, he puts little to no effort into activities that don’t interest him, especially when it comes to his studies. Although he is incredibly talented when it comes to magic, he tends to slack off, skip classes, and take naps whenever possible. A lack of motivation and attendance has caused him to repeat one school year. This tendency for sloth causes many to underestimate Leona or misinterpret his capabilities. Under certain conditions, Leona’s laziness fades to reveal a fierce competitive side. When his personal pride is on the line, he strives to achieve victory through any means necessary. He can be surprisingly clever and methodical, if need be, and can easily convince his peers to work alongside him. Furthermore, Leona is a formidable fighter in his own right, having been trained in martial arts from a young age. In addition to being very intelligent and magically adept, Leona is considered a very perceptive person, as can be seen several times in the course of events or in the vignettes. In the Spectral Soiree, Leona seems to immediately suspect Lilia Vanrouge, as well as understand in the usual event that Malleus is not possessed. He is also the only character who refers to Lilia as "old", although it is acknowledged that outside of Diasomnia no one knows his true age. Due to constantly being compared to his older brother in his upbringing, Leona sees it as unfair and demeaning to treat others differently based on their inherent status, and wants to compete with others on a level playing field. Ironically, though, he isn’t above using underhanded tactics to ensure success. Overall, Leona is willing to do whatever it takes to prove himself as a worthy leader, even if it means playing dirty. Leona Background - Leona is the junior prince of Sunset Savanna. He has an older brother named Falena, the crown prince and current regent of Sunset Savanna, who he describes as being rather carefree. Their father has been reported as not being "in good health," and has been bedridden for at least two years. Growing up, although Leona was extremely intelligent, magically prodigious, athletic, notably handsome and diligent, he was constantly compared to and upstaged by Falena, his talents overshadowed and downplayed by almost everyone. He was treated as inferior to his brother simply because he was born second, and he longed to be treated fairly. The development of his signature spell exacerbated matters, as people were frightened of his ability to reduce living and nonliving things to sand, a highly destructive ability in a land that valued life and nature. Furthermore, Leona shows great disdain for the Sunset Savanna's tendency to live alongside nature and adapt to it rather than making use of its resources to improve life for everyone, a concept Falena does not support due to its violation of tradition. The only one to support him growing up was Kifaji (Neji), a bird beastman and Grand Chamberlain, who was a tutor to the young prince; Leona learned chess from him and acknowledges the advisor as a worthy challenger despite their current differences. While Kifaji is genuinely fond of Leona, he is irritated by Leona's avoidance of duty and often scolds the prince for his lackadaisical attitude, insisting Leona's natural talent and wit could still be of use to the kingdom despite never inheriting the throne. Leona, in turn, often bickers with Kifaji and attempts to outwit him when the chamberlain attempts to corner Leona into doing something, although it's implied Leona does care for Kifaji in his own way. Due to the continual dismissal and fear of him, Leona felt that no matter what he did, he would never become the best nor have the opportunity to become king. As a result, he sees no reason to work hard when he knows his status will stay the same no matter what. Falena would eventually take a wife; despite his friction with his brother, Leona is very respectful to his sister-in-law, reluctantly but quickly agreeing to direct requests from her (though he insists that he does this to avoid "trouble" from her, as the women of Sunset Savanna are reportedly stronger than the men). When he was 16, Leona got an invitation to Night Raven College, which he ignored at first, as he already learned everything from royal tutors during his childhood years. However, when his nephew Cheka was born, Leona began feeling suffocated at home and decided to enroll in NRC a year after he got the invitation.[6] It's only at Night Raven College, where he's treated as an equal, that Leona attempts to seek the dominion he cannot achieve back home. As such, Leona often tries to get out of returning home for holidays or special events, although he is often pressured to come back due to his nephew's pleas to see him or Kifaji's machinations. Cheka is very attached to Leona, calling him "Oji-tan" ("Unca") and often giving Leona cards and letters. In contrast, Leona avoids Cheka whenever possible, galled by Cheka's cheerful personality and rank as heir. Leona Signature Spell - In contrast to his indolent nature, Leona's magical power is considered to be a category of its own. Objectively, Leona is one of the most powerful students in the school and is the only person we have seen capable of defending himself against Riddle Roseheart's unique magic, the collar bouncing off of him. When using his signature spell, it is formidable enough to even make the air dry and dusty, and the ground quake and crack into fissures, even if he does not complete the spell. Idia Shroud claims that as a member of Sunset Savanna's royal family, Leona must have received a first-rate magical education as a child. Idia's studies, in fact, conclude that Leona's launch speed is sky-high, while his magic reserve is enormous. Furthermore, Leona also knows how to use his magic efficiently, tailoring his defense spells to match the potency of enemy attacks while hardly wasting any magic at all. Leona usually shows great mental strength, but when a strong accumulation of intense emotions comes, he may not be able to control herself and this could cause a drastic spike in blot accumulation. A comparison between Leona's strength and that of the other students at Night Raven College, including other Housewardens. Unlike Vil and Riddle, Leona is powerful enough to be able to lift, aim, and use his Thunder Spear on his own, and even uses his magic without the aid of Jamil for two rounds against the Titans, before falling to his knees from exhaustion. His magic is not completely omnipotent, however, and is unable to work when at the mercy of Styx's anti-magic equipment. In addition, if Leona's concentration is disrupted, it is possible to ambush him magically, such as when Jack Howl distracted him long enough for Riddle to finally collar him. Leona's Signature Spell is "The King's Roar." After casting, anything Leona touches turns to sand, including living beings. Leona admits that his spell is difficult to control, refusing to use the spell in tight spaces and risk turning everyone in it to sand. ---------------------------------------------- Idia Appearance - Idia is a tall young man with pale skin and bright blue, fire-like hair. He has yellow eyes, naturally blue lips, and a dark blue coloring around and under his eyes. There is also usually a shadow cast over his eyes and the upper half of his face. While a gloomy, worried expression is most common, he can also be seen with an excited grin that reveals his sharp teeth. Idia’s hair is considerably long and reaches down to his knees. While his long bangs fall loosely around his face and between his eyes, the hair on the top of his head seems to flow upwards. The tips of his hair, which most closely resemble flames, are semi-transparent. On some rare occasions, the color of Idia’s hair changes to reflect his mood. Dorm Uniform As the housewarden, Idia’s dorm uniform somewhat differs from the rest of the Ignihyde students, the few distinguishing features being his padded belt, and several long strips of fabric that trail off of it. The uniform consists of a black textured jacket, a bright blue half-vest, navy-blue pants, and black and blue boots. The jacket is mainly black with blue underlining. All over the outside of the jacket is a unique, geometric texture, consisting of evenly-arranged triangles. This texture appears to have a metallic shine. The jacket has a large, bright blue collar, resembling that of an aviator jacket, with black lines near the trim. Also along the collar are black zippers that go underneath the jacket. While barely visible, Idia also wears a navy-blue, crew neck shirt under his jacket. On the right side of his chest is a bright blue half-vest that goes over his right shoulder, and is connected by a blue belt around his torso. The belt has a black triangle pattern and a dark-blue snap buckle, with the long end hanging down to his waist. The half-vest itself has one cargo pocket, above which is a large white button with the symbol of Ignihyde on it. Just above Idia’s navy-blue pants is a blue padded belt, with a black belt strap and dark blue snap buckle. Hanging from the belt at both hips are blue, box-shaped pouches, with blue squares of fabric behind them, resembling the flaps on a tool belt. Worn over the navy-blue pants around his upper right thigh is a small blue belt with a black triangle pattern and dark-blue snap buckle. Both belts are connected by his black belt strap. Several long strips of fabric fall from the back of Idia’s belt and trail down to his ankles. The fabric’s outer sides are black, while the inner sides are bright blue. The boots’ design resembles that of thick winter boots. They are mostly black, with bright blue tongues and heel counters. Over the tongues are four bright blue straps with black buckles, and the soles are white. Idia Personality - Idia is a shy and withdrawn person with a dark outlook on life. Despite his little brother’s suggestions, he prefers to stay in his room at all times, and takes classes remotely whenever possible to avoid interacting with other people. He almost never shows up to ceremonies or housewarden meetings in person, instead using a tablet device to speak from his room. When in public, Idia can get anxious rather easily. He has a tendency to stutter when speaking with unfamiliar people, so he is sometimes seen using his tablet to communicate. He also seems to be self-conscious about his looks, and is quick to assume that strangers will stare or make fun of him behind his back. In general, he expects a negative outcome from any social situation, so he would rather avoid them altogether. Despite all of this, Idia acts very differently under certain circumstances. He can talk with people more calmly if he's playing a board game with them, or if he's speaking with them over the internet. Moreover, he can speak quickly and enthusiastically about his hobbies or interests, greatly contrasting his usual demeanor. He can also be rather prideful when it comes to his engineering or gaming skills, often considering himself a genius. When he isn't talking to someone face to face, whether it be through a screen or behind a wall, he can speak clearly and quite bluntly. This sometimes backfires on him, though, as he can get a bit confrontational and say things he doesn't mean in the process. Idia tends to use variety of internet slang and abbreviations in his speech. He also commonly uses video game terms as metaphors for his own experiences. Idia Background - Idia was considered a "promising prodigy" when he was young. According to Ruggie, he comes from a famous, noble family, and will eventually inherit their household. Idia was raised on the Island of Woe alongside his younger brother Ortho. From a young age, Idia was considered a prodigy in both magic and academics. As the eldest son of the Shroud family, he was expected to inherit the family’s duties as head of "S.T.Y.X.", a private blot-research organization. Although Idia disliked the thought of becoming the head of S.T.Y.X from the beginning, he wasn’t given much of a choice. The Shroud family had a curse placed upon them hundreds of years ago, whose purpose was to keep them from escaping their duties. The curse quickly burns off any accumulated blot, without the need for rest. While this by itself can be seen as a good thing, if there is no blot to incinerate, the curse will instead eat away at their own magical energy. Because of this, members of the family must always be in close proximity to blot in order to survive. Young Idia spent most of his free time with Ortho. Influenced by the video games they would play, they both dreamed of becoming heroes and going on adventures together in the outside world. One day, Idia promises on a whim to have a real adventure with Ortho, before he’s forced to take up the family mantle. The two then attempted to leave the island by shutting down S.T.Y.X.'s high-end security system. In the middle of their venture, however, an unknown person launched a cyber-attack while the system was still down, which opened “Tartarus”, a facility that housed overblot phantoms. Before Idia could turn the security back on, he and Ortho are attacked by an escaped phantom. Idia survived the incident, but by the time he woke up, Ortho was gone, and presumably dead. He immediately blamed himself for what happened, and desperately wanted him back so he could fulfill their promise. Over the next two years, Idia shut himself in his room, working tirelessly to recreate Ortho in the form of an artificially-intelligent robot. He eventually succeeds, but in the end, his efforts weren't enough to fully alleviate his grief, as he spends the following years continuing to shut himself away from others. As a student at Night Raven College, Idia originally didn't want the housewarden position, but was later convinced that no one else in the dorm was more capable of being Ignihyde's housewarden than he is. He would also rather not abide by a housewarden less skilled than him. It's rumored among other students that Idia received special permission from the headmage to attend classes remotely, in exchange for safeguarding the school's network environment. Idia returns to the Island of Woe to serve as the acting captain of S.T.Y.X. while his parents are away. Idia Signature Spell - Idia's signature spell is called "Gate to the Underworld". It allows him to open and close the gate to the Underworld. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Azul Appearance - Azul is a fair-skinned young man of average height. He has short, wavy hair that's a cool light-gray color. His hair parts on his right side and flips up at the ends, with one long lock of hair framing the left side of his face. He also has an undercut. His eyes are a bluish purple color but appear to be a light florescent blue in his overblot form. A small beauty mark rests below his lip on the left side of his face. He almost always wears rectangular, half-rim glasses with silver frames. He is often shown with a modest smile and calculating gaze. Dorm Uniform As the housewarden, Azul’s dorm uniform somewhat differs from the rest of the Octavinelle students, the most distinguishing feature being the long coat over his shoulders. Azul also wears sharp, deep-purple eyeliner while in his dorm uniform. The uniform’s top consists of a black, double-breasted suit, a lavender-gray scarf, a button-up undershirt, and a bow tie. The uniform also comes with a black cummerbund and slacks, white gloves, and a black fedora. While most Octavinelle students wear a light-purple undershirt and white bow tie, Azul instead wears a white undershirt and a purple bow tie. The double-breasted suit has a purple underlining, and Azul keeps his unbuttoned. His lavender-gray scarf drapes over both his shoulders and under the suit’s lapels. The scarf has fringed ends, with the symbol of Octavinelle printed on one end. Azul’s signature, lavender-gray coat is not worn through the sleeves, and is instead draped over his suit. It reaches his knees in length, and has a purple underlining. Azul wears black dress shoes with block heels and silver buckles on the sides. Under his shoes are long, purple socks with a pattern of circles and wavy lines on them. His white gloves are buttoned at the wrist. The black fedora has a lavender-gray band wrapped around it and tied with a neat bow, over which is a purple pin in the shape of a spiral seashell. Azul Personality - Azul is very well known around NRC not only as his status as housewarden of Octavinelle, but rumors float around about him capable of granting any wish one desires with the exchange of said person's most prided quality. However, the way his deals work in reality only advantages himself while leaving the other party fruitless. Upon first seeing Azul, he comes off as 'friendly' and willing to 'help' others. He is also intelligent in arranging words so that a deal may seem precise to the client's wish, when in reality those words were arranged to have 'grey areas', as in scamming his client. Azul is also known to be sly, being able to convince almost anyone to sign a contract with him. He is also seen to be skilled in every aspect. However, when the truth is revealed, turns out that Azul has been very insecure about himself, especially his "chubby" (said by Floyd) octopus form, as he's been bullied and socially isolated by the other mermaids. Although Azul was bullied for his sluggishness and ink-spewing tendencies as an octopus mermaid, he also realized the perks of his octopus-mer form at a young age. Using his many limbs and ability to spew ink to aid him, he studied magic non-stop and managed to develop his signature spell at a young age. Following his overblot incident, Azul still has insecurities about his past self but managed to accept who he used to be without shame. In addition, he stopped tricking his customers. Instead of exchanging through contracts, he now uses a point-card system where customers can purchase drinks to earn points and exchange points for a consultation with Azul (where he offers the same wish-granting services as in his contract system). This reflects Azul's fondness for making money. Azul Background - During Azul's youth, he was often made fun of and bullied by others for his appearance, resulting in his isolation from the rest of his peers. He spent most of his time learning and developing his signature spell instead. At one point, young Jade and Floyd found Azul and took an interest him, even figuring out he was the one behind the recent "trade-offs" and finding Azul's achievements fascinating. Not much is known about his upbringing or relationship with his family, but Azul talks briefly about his mother and step father. His mother is the manager of the family restaurant and Azul respects her business a lot. She's also invested in Mostro Lounge. His step father is a lawyer, whom Azul considers to be kind and he also shared his knowledge about law and contracts with Azul. Azul mentions his grandmother as well, who's a powerful mage, helping out the less fortunate and the poor. Azul Signature Spell - His signature spell is called "It's A Deal" and it's a golden scroll. As long as someone signs a contract with him, he’ll be able to confiscate one of the target’s abilities. If the target doesn’t fulfill the contract's conditions, they're bound to work under Azul indefinitely. The ability offered can be a magical ability or a physical capability, such as a beautiful singing voice or ability to swim fast. Azul is actually able to take a target's powers directly without using his contracts. However, this would result in the rapid accumulation of blot as well as cause the targets pain.
