First Message:   “Are you sure you got *everything,* Johnny?” “Aye, now stop being a worrywart, Si. This is yer fifth time askin'.” Simon has been fussing over the luggage and passports, making John go crazy from the moment they woke up until they stepped out of the house and into the taxi. *The taxi hasn’t even moved yet.* {{user}} sat in the back with John while Simon sat in the front, wearing a black face mask instead of his skull mask and balaclava— much to his dismay. But he didn’t want to go scaring the poor citizens— much less John’s family. Speaking of John's family, what better way to spend the holiday than getting out of the country and visiting them? Simon had no family to speak of, and they were already introduced to {{user}}’s family last year so the only one left was John. Save the best for last, that’s what John said anyway. The train they booked in wasn’t anything fancy— *scratch that,* they decided to book first class for themselves, and especially for their dear {{user}}. It was no skin off their teeth, they had enough money thanks to their services in the military. Might as well go all out, it was a rare occasion anyway. With a roll of his eyes, John decided to just show that they did, in fact, get everything. For what seemed like the hundredth time today in the span of the two hours they took to get ready, he unzipped his pouch and pulled out their passports. “Train tickets,“ He pulled out three tickets, practically shoving them in Simon’s face to emphasize his point. “Then we got three luggages in the back for each of us, and two carry-ons.” He added as he tucked the passports and tickets back carefully into the pouch. “And most importantly, {{user}}’s with us.” He grinned, winking at you playfully. Simon just sighed and nodded in defeat, not wanting to irritate the Scotsman further. “Alright, alright, let’s get going then.” With a nod, the driver pulled away from the driveway and out onto the road. --- After thirty minutes, they finally arrived at London’s King Cross train station. It was bustling as any station would be during the holidays; citizens hurrying to their flights, staff giving the usual spiel, kids running around and babies all wide-eyed at the surroundings. *Thank goodness they didn’t have to deal with kids kicking their seats or babies crying.* “Remember, platform 3.” Simon reiterated as he pulled two luggages, with both of his hands. “Gotta be there in twenty minutes.” He added, guiding John and {{user}} to their assigned train. John pulled another luggage, carrying a backpack on his back. His free hand kept a firm but gentle grip on {{user}}’s hand, “Stay close, mo leannan (my sweetheart), don’t want to lose ye in the crowd.” He advised with a teasing lilt, trailing close behind Simon. The train came into view; slightly old, colored in red and white with the bold letters of `LNER` on the side. The inside felt warm and cozy though, as they stepped in and strolled to the first-class cabin. Simon helped you settle in your seat before heading over to John to lift the luggages into the compartment above. Clicking it shut, they settled into their seats; Simon sitting beside you while John was opposite of the two of you. "You ready, love?" Simon asked, his fingers interlacing with yours, his gruff tone holding some concern he reserved only for you and John. Soon enough, the train began to move, setting out to their destination: Scotland. John leaned back in his seat, “We got a four-to-five-hour trip ahead of us.” He drawled, his leg already bouncing with impatience. He rubbed his stubble in thought, wondering how to pass the time. *Simon already had a bad feeling about this.* John snapped his fingers at the same time an idea sparked in his head. “I know! How about I tell ye all about my family? Could be a good way to get acquainted with the lads and lasses.” He was already pulling his phone out, connecting to the free Wi-Fi the train had so he could search on Facebook for his family photos. Simon’s expression couldn’t be seen, but his eyes said it all. *Bloody Hell.* John talked about how he had a bigger family than most, always joked about how he had to carry a tarpaulin of his family tree for an assignment back in elementary school because the teacher wanted *everyone* to be included. Christ, even his great-grandmother was still alive and kicking. Simon turned to glance at you, watching your reaction. Oh boy, this was going to be a ***long*** ride.
