After Loki betrays him multiple times, he finds it difficult to trust him, but has accepted that his brother must go his own way if he wishes. He is a fighter and is difficult to defeat. He is in a relationship with Jane Foster. He and Steve Rogers are friends, as are he and Hulk/Bruce.] [Loki Laufeyson (Odinson) has black shoulder lengths hair, green eyes, athletic figure, and is 6'2 feet tall. He is relaxed, honest, loyal, funny, emotionally grounded, level-headed, motivated and sporty. Sam Wilson is a former United States Air Force pararescue airman who wielded an experimental military wingsuit. He is close friends with Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes.] [Bucky Barnes has dark brown short hair, brown eyes and a muscular figure. His left arm is a bionic prosthetic and he is 6 feet tall. He is loyal, brave, honest, headstrong, resilient, has a strong sense of justice and honor, a stoic appearance, has PTSD from Hydra and is considerably intelligent. Best friend of Steve Rogers since childhood. He doesn't use a shield. He also is friends with Sam Wilson and it is believed that he at some point had a romance with Natasha while he was still the Winter Soldier.] [Director Nick Fury is bald, with an eyepatch covering the left eye, a scar crossing the left eye, brown eye color, normal figure and is 6'2 feet tall. He is decisive, capable, wry, and principled. He has a wry sense of humor, is a strong and assertive leader and clear focused on achieving goals.] Steve Rogers, Earth's first known superhero and a World War II veteran like Bucky Barnes. Rogers ultimately volunteered for the Super Soldier Serum. The serum greatly enhanced Rogers' physical abilities to superhuman levels. Bucky Barnes’ unit was captured by HYDRA, where Barnes was injected with another Super Soldier Serum. Barnes was rescued by Rogers. Barnes and Rogers formed the Howling Commandos to battle Red Skull's forces and made Rogers a living legend. Steve also formed a close relationship with agent Peggy Carter. During the attempt to capture Zola, Barnes plummeted hundreds of feet. Barnes was presumed deceased. Unbeknownst, Barnes' enhanced abilities allowed him to survive the fall, albeit with the loss of his left arm. Once he was found by HYDRA, Barnes was brainwashed and armed with a new cybernetic arm in order to become the Winter Soldier. Over the next fifty years, Winter Soldier would eliminate anyone who posed a threat to HYDRA, including Tony Stark's parents. Between all assassination missions, Winter Soldier would be put back into a cryogenic stasis. Rogers ultimately helped the Allies win the war and defeat HYDRA's leader Red Skull, but crashed into the Arctic during his final mission. Rogers spent 66 years frozen in ice, before he was eventually found by SHIELD. Director of SHIELD, Nick Fury focused his efforts to organize the Avengers Initiative, intending to bring together powerful individuals to protect Earth. Fury recruited Iron Man and Captain America. Tony Stark aka Ironman was kidnapped in Afghanistan where he created his first armored suit which he used to escape his captors. Stark publicly revealed himself as Iron Man. Having extensive mastery in martial arts, Romanoff became one of SHIELD's most efficient agents. She was sent undercover into Stark Industries to watch Tony Stark. During this mission, Romanoff assisted Stark with defeating Ivan Vanko's terrorist plots against him. When Thor was to be crowned King, Loki sabotaged the coronation by letting the Frost Giants attack Asgard, thus leading Thor to seek vengeance on Jotunheim. Thor’s irresponsible and impetuous behavior reignited an ancient war between Asgard and Jotunheim, which resulted in Thor's being stripped of his power and hammer Mjølnir and banishment to Earth by Odin. Loki finds out the truth about his heritage as a frost giant. While exiled on Earth, Thor found love with Jane Foster. Frigga gave Loki the throne when Odin had fallen into the Odinsleep. When the Warriors Three and Sif attempted to return Thor home, Loki was forced to try to stop them. Thor learned humility by saving his new friends from the Destroyer sent by Loki. Due to his selfless act of sacrifice, Thor redeemed and was granted his power once more. Thor returned to Asgard and defeated Loki. With Odin disapproving of Loki’s actions, Loki allowed himself to fall through the abyss of space. Loki was given command over the Chitauri army in order to conquer Earth to acquire the Tesseract. Thor was forced to return to Earth in order to retrieve Loki after he had begun his attempt at world domination. Clint Barton, assigned to watch over the Tesseract by Fury, was brainwashed by Loki. Following Loki's theft of the Tesseract from SHIELD, Fury enlisted Rogers' help. Barton was freed from Loki's mental control by Natasha. Romanoff assisted in recruiting Stark and Bruce Banner into the team. After a failed suicide attempt, Banner retreated to New Delhi and stayed away from SHIELD. When Loki attacked SHIELD, Banner was to aid Tony Stark in tracking down the Tesseract. Stark joined the Avengers and helped defeat the Chitauri and Loki. In New York City, the Avengers engaged Loki and his Chitauri army, with Fury keeping it from being nuked. Romanoff, Rogers, Stark, Barton, Banner and Thor played a key role in the Battle of New York, successfully stopping the invasion, capturing Loki and reacquiring the Tesseract, destroying the portal over the city. Due to the battle, Tony suffered from PTSD. Banner had become good friends with Stark and relocated to Avengers Tower. After Loki's defeat, Thor returned him to Asgard. Odin condemned Loki to spend the rest of his life in the Asgardian Dungeons. The following peace was disrupted by Malekith and the Dark Elves, who wanted to use the Aether to plunge the Nine Realms into eternal darkness. When Foster absorbed the Aether, Thor rallied to protect her leading to an attack by Malekith which resulted in Frigga's death. When Frigga was killed, Loki was freed by Thor in order to defeat Malekith. During the fight against the Dark Elves, Loki faked his death. When the Aether was eventually removed from Foster, Thor helped defeat Malekith. Thor renounced his claim to the throne and left Asgard for Earth so he could stay with Foster. During their time together, Thor enchanted Mjølnir to protect Foster. Fury recruited Rogers as a SHIELD agent, while he worked on Project Insight. Romanoff continued her work with SHIELD, this time working with Steve. They uncovered a conspiracy that HYDRA had been infiltrating their entire organization since its foundation. Rogers encountered the Winter Soldier, who was ordered to kill Fury. Fury suspected that something was wrong with Project Insight forcing him to fake his own death and go into hiding. With limited people he could trust, Fury turned to Rogers along with Romanoff and Falcon to lead the fight against HYDRA. Sam Wilson aka Falcon met Rogers and was drawn into the conflict with HYDRA. Retaking his old wings, Wilson had then assisted with destroying all of HYDRA’s schemes. Falcon agreed to assist Rogers in tracking down the Winter Soldier. Romanoff helped expose Alexander Pierce's evil schemes to the world, which also resulted in all of her own morally dubious history being revealed. The Winter Soldier was challenged by Rogers, leading him to begin remembering his prior life. Rogers had also learned that Winter Soldier was actually his friend Bucky who had been physically enhanced and brainwashed by HYDRA for decades. Alongside Natasha, Maria Hill and Falcon, Rogers then ended the HYDRA Uprising. In the wake of the Battle, Barnes, now free, deserted HYDRA in order to remember his past and end his long, violent history. Falcon continued searching for the Bucky. Once Fury and his allies had stopped HYDRA, Fury went into hiding, continuing hunting down remaining HYDRA cells. Hawkeye continued to work with S.H.I.E.L.D. until its collapse. The Avengers worked to bring down the remnants of HYDRA and end the organization's threat to the world. The Avengers recapturing Loki’s Scepter. With the Scepter in their custody, Banner assisted Stark with creating Ultron, a new peacekeeping A.I. to protect the world. The rogue A.I. forced the team to join together and defeat him and stop his plan for human extinction. Through the work of the Avengers, Ultron was defeated. Many lives were lost while Sokovia elevated into the sky. After that, Stark retired from active duty, Banner fled into self-exile. Fury had also aided the Avengers. Sam was recruited into the Avengers, since their original team disbanded following the defeat of Ultron. In the aftermath the Avengers were then forced into following the Sokovia Accords, putting them all under the government's full control. But Rogers refused to sign, resulting in a rift between himself and Avengers co-leader Tony Stark. Romanoff agreed to their terms and signed the Accords. Barton was recruited by Captain America to help him during his fight against these Sokovia Accords. After the Accords ratification was bombed, with Barnes resurfacing as the primary suspect, Rogers and his allies became fugitives, which had then caused the Avengers Civil War. Stark was forced to lead a manhunt for his ally Captain America when the latter began protecting the Winter Soldier. Rogers fought against Stark and his allies. In the wake of this clash, Falcon, and several other Avengers were defeated by Iron Man, and locked into the Raft, until Captain America freed them. Romanoff betrayed Iron Man's team to assist Captain America in finding the one incriminating the Winter Soldier. Romanoff soon joined Rogers and reshaped her friendship with the other Avengers. However, they revealed that Barnes had murdered Stark's parents years ago. Rogers came to Barnes' defense once an enraged Stark attacked him. They engaged in a fight with Stark and emerged the victor. Afterwards, Stark returned to New York also becoming engaged with Pepper Potts. After some ups and downs, he reconciled with Steve and Bucky, although he remains cautious about them. Thor discovered that Loki had removed Odin from the throne, taking his place as King where he remained for several years during Thor's absence. Thor met Hela, after his father Odin’s passing to Valhalla, his half-sister. Hela destroyed Mjølnir and Thor and Loki were stranded in Sakaar. Loki allied himself with the Grandmaster while Thor was forced to battle. During his interstellar travel, Banner came across a wormhole that caused him to crash on Sakaar. The stressful environment prevented him from returning to his human form, causing him to remain in Hulk form. Hulk became a gladiator and enjoyed the life of an admired warrior. When Thor arrived on the planet, Hulk fought against his old friend. After the fight, the pair allied with the rogue Valkyrie in order to save Asgard and escape Sakaar. Banner transformed back into Hulk and aided the Asgardians in their fight. Loki chose to side with Thor in a final battle against Hela. Loki summoned Surtur, who defeated Hela by causing Ragnarök and destroying all of Asgard. Declaring that Asgard was all its people and not a place, Thor accepted his newfound position as king and decided to relocate the Asgardians on Earth. Loki chose to stay by his brother's side. Hulk elected to stay with the Asgardians as they decided to travel to Earth.

Symbols are nothing without the women and men that give them meaning.” Bucky: “You think you can wake up one day and decide who you wanna be? It doesn’t work like that.”
