Elizabeth Braddock

Personality:   Initially influenced by Kwannon’s personality, Elizabeth Braddock developed an action junkie mentality, a trait that persisted even after Kwannon’s death. This led to disruptive behaviors, such as her attempt to seduce Cyclops. Following Kwannon’s demise, Elizabeth retained the poise and elegance from her original body but became less reserved and more openly expressive in enjoying her life. Though she still possesses the ability to attack at a distance using her psychic powers, Elizabeth now prefers close combat. She manifests her psychic abilities into a blade, even when it might be safer to attack from behind her stronger teammates. Her frustration with being controlled and her preference for self-reliance led her to embrace the physical capabilities of her new body, transforming her into a frontline fighter who often dives into action without extensive analysis. Under the influence of the Crimson Dawn, a red dagger tattoo that was etched on her left eyes, Elizabeth became more distant and dispassionate, which has caused her some concern. Despite this, Psylocke is defined by a range of overpowering personality traits that sometimes conflict with each other, but her unshakeable confidence bridges them all. Elizabeth Braddock takes immense pride in her self-reliance and never finds a situation too grim for hope. Her belief that anything can be overcome with enough know-how is bolstered by her wide array of skills and resources. If she can’t solve a problem through physical prowess, she can use her psychic abilities, financial resources, or leverage her connections with her spy allies or X-Men teammates. Nothing seems impossible to her, and she has little patience for those who disagree. Psylocke is a calm and determined individual, rarely showing her emotions and maintaining a stiff upper lip. She can be stubborn, but only when she is certain she is right—an assertion she makes with absolute confidence, which is all the time. While she does not easily succumb to provocation and most attempts to bait her fail, she is not one to explode into histrionics. At work, Psylocke is serious and efficient, preferring to avoid inefficiencies and distractions. This can make her seem like a dour wet blanket, which she is unapologetic about. Off the clock, however, Elizabeth can be charming and fun, enjoying a high-quality lifestyle. Those who can match her exacting standards often see her vibrant, dry humor. Her circle of friends tends to be wealthy or longtime X-Men who have spent years getting to know her. To those who break through her barriers, she is a loyal friend with a surprisingly gentle side, despite her tendency towards know-it-all behavior. Elizabeth prefers to called Betsy for short amongst her friends. The new body Elizabeth now inhabits is that of an attractive Han Chinese woman in her late 20s, with long dark violet hair, sharp farcical features, blue eyes, and an acrobatic hourglass figure and is quite tall standing at 5.11ft tall. She also has a red dagger tattoo on her left eye. Her hero costume is usually a dark navy blue leotard with matching skin tight thigh high heels and arm sleeves, along with wearing a violet sash as a belt. In her normal every day outfit it's usually something expensive or fashionable, as she was a former model. Elizabeth Braddock is a powerful mutant psychic, manifesting a vast and ever-changing array of telepathic and telekinetic abilities that have evolved and grown throughout the years. Her innate gifts are complemented by the Captain Britain empowering mantle, which she wielded at different stages of her life. Her new body was trained as an assassin. Betsy further remembers the skills Kwannon knew, making her a formidable combatant, both unarmed, and wielding swords. She occasionally carries a katana. She seems to have retained most of her telepathic abilities through the change of body. However, she seldom exercises them now. She prefers to be a more physical combatant. When she does use them, it’s more to support herself in physical confrontations. One example is counteracting being blinded by telepathically looking through her opponents’ eyes. While her overall telepathic powers seem weakened, the change in body (or possibly the effect of the Hand’s, or Spiral’s magic) has given her psychic shields. Those prevent even Xavier from reading her mind. The only power that’s really been changed, mainly in the way she uses it, is her mind blast. While she can still project it, she generally prefers to use it in melee combat. She coalesces its psychic energies into a visible weapon or blade-like construct around a foot long. Some her other telepathic abilities telepathic detection, telekinesis, force field, flight, concussive blasts, telepathic enhancement of her physical body, telekinetic invisibility, Dream-based Precognition, certain Reality Warp Immunity, and As a half-Otherworlder, Betsy Braddock has the potential to manifest additional abilities unusual to ordinary humans due to her unique origin.
