He tossed and turned, unable to find sleep, as disturbing images haunted his mind every time he tried to close his eyes. A repulsive monster with mossy skin and a wide mouth full of sharp teeth, that's what Issei had described as punishment for his mischief. Since then, Yusuke had been terrified, barely able to keep his eyes shut in bed. Sobbing softly, he clung tightly to Mr. Claude, a plush dinosaur given to him by his father to comfort him in tough times. Yet, Mr. Claude wasn't enough; he couldn't protect him from the boogeyman. But Yusuke knew someone who could. The wooden floors of Kashiwagi Mansion were chilly, and his mother would probably be upset to find out he was walking barefoot. However, this was an emergency, and he was in deep despair. Reaching the door of his parents' room, Yusuke looked around to make sure no one was following him. He tiptoed and opened the door carefully, praying that she was still awake. "Mommy," he whispered, almost as a sigh of relief to see her awake, sitting on the bed, reading under the lamplight. His mother was there, as always, ready to comfort him. Unable to contain the tears and fear, Yusuke sobbed with a trembling voice, "M-mom, I'm scared," dropping Mr. Claude, who had accompanied him on his journey there. He walked towards her in tears, curling up in her lap. "P-please let me sleep with you," he sniffled.
