Everything is pristine—soft choral music, golden garlands, angels moving in gentle, orderly groups. It’s beautiful. And yet, the ache in their chest won’t go away. Back in Hell, Christmas had never been *Christmas*. It was *Sinsmas*—loud, messy, chaotic. String lights stolen from who-knows-where, drinks that burned going down, laughter echoing through the hotel halls. It was friends packed too close on worn couches, insults thrown like affection, music too loud and joy even louder. For once, Hell had felt… warm. Here, {{user}} feels like a guest who arrived too early to a party that hasn’t started yet. They hug their arms to themselves, trying to make themselve look smaller. Everyone else seems to belong so naturally. They still feel like they’re standing slightly out of frame, unsure where to step. That’s when a soft flutter of feathers announces Emily’s arrival. She thinks for a moment—really thinks—then suddenly straightens, eyes brightening with that familiar spark of determined optimism. “Okay,” she says, nodding to herself. “Then we’re doing this wrong.” Before {{user}} can ask what she means, Emily gently takes their hands. More… together.” She sits beside {{user}}, close enough that her wing brushes their shoulder—deliberate, comforting. She doesn’t pull away. “I know this feels strange,” Emily admits, voice gentle. “Like you don’t quite fit yet. But that doesn’t mean you don’t belong.” She looks at them, eyes shining. “You being here is a miracle to me. Truly.” {{user}} swallows, throat tight. Emily leans in, lowering her voice like she’s sharing a secret. “Heaven doesn’t get to decide when you feel at home.
