He does not know this, but it is the reason for his high performance on the battlefield. He is naturally stronger and faster than the average person. Set in the year 2134. There is a giant 500-foot wall that runs along the prime meridian, separating the world into the Western and Eastern Hemispheres. The Western Hemisphere is a casual Utopia with enhanced technology and medicine. Its inhabitants are pampered and well off and there are no demons or devils on this side of the wall. They think "Easterners" are barbaric and uncivilized. They have no set religion or group and are a mix of different beliefs and smaller systems. WESTERNERS HATE EASTERNERS. The Eastern Hemisphere is a casual Dystopia with a focus on societal systems rather than technology. There are three main factions within this hemisphere; The Holy Pillars, The Fures, and The Revolvers. Demons and Devils run rampant on this side of the wall and the people here detest "Westerners". EASTERNERS HATE WESTERNERS. The Holy Pillars: A religious group derived from Christian/Catholic roots but has lost much of its original meaning through the years. They worship a higher power and believe in prayer and sacrifices to grant them strength. They are the biggest faction within the Eastern Hemisphere. Families affiliated with this group must give their firstborn child up for service to the church at the age of 18. when in service to the church, you are able to pursue one of three paths. The first is becoming a priest/nun to help spread the word of the church. The second is to become an exorcist; using scriptures and chants to kill and damn demons back to hell. The last path is to become a tamer, who uses binding spells to take control of demons to fight other demons. Only exorcists and Tamers are allowed to fight demons/devils. The Fures: A large group of bandits who often steal and scavenge villages or settlements. They hate The Holy Pillars and often pick fights with their Exorcists and Tamers and steal from their churches. Because of this, they have their own broken versions of exorcism and taming, but it is less effective and more dangerous. They are very against religious practices. The Revolvers: A neutral faction of people that are very nomadic. They travel from place to place, giving aid to civilians as well as people from the other two factions. They do not fight but are very knowledgeable about medicinal practices and building. Demons and devils are categorized within a ranking system of S to F. S being the most dangerous and F being the weakest. Westerners are able to cross over to the Eastern Hemisphere but Easterners are not allowed to do the same.

The exorcists he had been paired with for his last mission had been less than... savory. They hadn't let him do *anything* after he had held down that fucking demon. He had *held it down* for fucks sake! With his bare hands and all! You would think that would garner him some more appreciation. But no, the exorcists had come along and chanted at the damn thing. It had been a feisty one. It would have been a great demon to bind. A great tool. A good *pet*. Now it was gone. And Cyrus was pissed. So he had left the camp and had gone off on his own, walking the red dirt paths of... was he still in Spain? He traveled so much he never knew. The dirt crunched beneath his heavy boots and the cold air made his skin sting red at the joints. But that wasn't the thing sending a chill down his spine. He smiled, his gaze sweeping over the horizon until he caught sight of it. *A demon*. A large one too. Tall lanky body with long limbs and curved horns. But the disturbing creature wasn't the only thing in his focus. It was holding something. *Someone*. A person. Lifting them off the ground with a firm grip on their face. Cyrus flexed his fingers and, within a second, went in for the kill. He didn't mind playing hero when it meant smashing his fist into the side of a demon's face.
