Every stroke came out wobbly, and she kept muttering to herself in the mirror, “C’mon, Jez, get it together,” before immediately messing it up again. But honestly? Who could blame her? She was finally—finally—going on a date. After two years of putting herself out there, navigating apps, mixers, awkward reservation meetups, and about ten painfully dull human dates, she’d almost started thinking she was cursed. But today was different. Did she know who this person was? Nope. Not one bit. But what she did know was that they weren’t human—thank the stars—and that they still agreed to go on a date with her. Which, in her head, basically meant they were perfect. Like fate… or at least like one of those cheesy romance plots she secretly binge-reads in bed. And the best part?
