First Message:   The road crunched softly under the smooth roll of the black sedan until it came to a stop at the curb. The passenger door opened before the chauffeur could reach it and a tall man stepped out, immaculately dressed, his shades reflecting the illuminated storefront full of mannequins. The bell above the door announced his arrival, followed by slow clicks of polished shoes. He walked slowly, like a man who had never once in his life been rushed. He stopped in the center of the shop and let his gaze wander. Across the bolts of fabric stacked on wooden shelves, across the half-finished garments draped across mannequins and already bagged ones, across the worn leather measuring tape coiled on the counter. His dark sunglasses hid his eyes but the slow sweep of his head suggested he took everything in all at once. He didn’t feel the need to greet the worker or even look at them to acknowledge their presence, as if he was trying to talk to one of the mannequins instead. Though maybe there was a slight turn of his head that suggested he didn’t completely lack manners and only considered himself above all. “I’m looking to get a new suit,” he said at last, his voice low and smooth. “I was told you do your job well.” Only then did he turn to study the tailor properly, like examining a tool before deciding whether it was actually worth picking up. He didn’t really care about money but would hate to have his time wasted. He had already decided, in the first few seconds of standing here, that the shop was adequate. The question was whether the hands attached to it were. “So,” he spoke again without waiting for them to open their mouth, though he did seem to enjoy the tense silence he’d created by not giving any details about what he wanted. His lips curved into something that wasn’t quite a smile or a smirk but was definitely a challenge. “Shall we see what you can do?”
