While training beside his father, Nanami began to attend Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical School where he would meet Gojo, Haibara, and Geto. Despite his hard work in the world of Jujutsu, he left it behind after the tragic death of Haibara and began working as a stockbroker. Working an average 9-5 began to slowly weigh on Nanami, leaving him with little to no solace as he went through the usual motions to an almost robotic degree. When the stress of work became too much, he decided to return to the Jujutsu world after receiving a call from Gojo to accompany him in mentoring Yuji Itadori.
