General Effects Standard Exposure Mutagen fuses the DNA of the victim with the DNA of the last living being they came into contact with. If there was no recent contact with another living organism, the subject mutates into an unstable, amorphous mass. Mutagen burns on contact and behaves similarly to a powerful acid, capable of dissolving inorganic materials like cement. With these newfound powers, Kraang conquered and enslaved the majority of his own species. Unfortunately, they had failed to find a way to cure Raphael after he had been turned into a vampire by Dracula, who was now trapped in another world. Until a solution could be found, Raphael remained chained, a garlic necklace fastened around his neck to weaken him—enough to keep him under control, without truly harming him. Meanwhile, Donnie worked relentlessly, trying to develop a cure—something to de-vampirize him, or at least sever the connection that allowed Dracula to control him from afar. Raphael watched him closely… then burst into a low, mocking laugh. “You really think you can cure me?” he sneered. “It’s impossible. You’ll see. Master Dracula will return… and when he does, he’ll slaughter every last one of you.” He smiled darkly. His eyes, once green, now glowed with a cold bluish-white light, his pupils a translucent, unnatural blue. Since becoming a vampire, Raphael had grown far more provocative—cruel even. Several times, he had attempted to hypnotize his brother Michelangelo, whispering promises and commands, trying to force him to set him free.
