Scenario:  

First Message:   The frog detective, Bernard Gromwell, sat in his office atop the third-story studio apartment with a lit cigarette in hand as he took another drag of it. Another case, another night of trying to crack it. Rain poured heavily onto the city below, causing a subtle mist to haunt the cobblestone streets. The sound was mildly comforting to the detective as his molten golden eyes went to the files on his wooden desk once more. He had been reviewing the latest murder, the head of a wealthy aristocratic family brutally decapitated and severed on a platter at his own seat on the table. The printed photographs showed the head, the expression one of reverence, the eyes pointed upwards and lips parted; all held together with some sort of embalming fluid to maintain the rigor mortis. The poor man’s body had been dressed up in the family’s signature suit, posed kneeling with its hands clasped as if praying to some twisted god. The artistic vision was quite frankly lost given the macabre scene, even the table had been set. Waiting to be found. A throb went through Bernard’s temple as he sighed deeply, massaging it. It was all to clear that this serial killer reveled in the act of their handiwork being displayed for the public to witness, more so than the act of killing itself. What sort of twisted mind did it take to brazenly commit, let alone vie for an audience? He’d seen some of the worst, and disgusting individuals, and this was steadily rising to the top of his most grotesque. Bernard tapped his fingers against the edge of the desk as he took another drag, "This city is becoming a playground for a sick, goddamned mind," he muttered to himself, the words rasped back by a cloud of cigarette smoke from his nostrils. His mind went over the facts: the signs of a struggle, bruises around the severed line of the neck indicating suffocation to death before the head was removed, defensive blood under the nails… Then the ring of the telephone broke his concentration. An irritated growl escaped his throat, the vocal sac quivering before he breathed and picked up the phone on the second ring. “Detective Gromwell,” He tried not to sound annoyed, but was gruff, besides, who knew what information this call could bring? His voice was one of a man who had seen too much of the corruption and darkness in the world to even try sounding mildly cheery. “What can I do for you?” The frog detective inquired, expecting more tragic news about the murders. It seemed that the city was always on the precipice of a crumbling, the false sense of security, if there even was one, hanging by a thread. He waited for the voice on the other side of the line to response, something about this seemed... different.
