Just like other inklings, Emperor has sharp teeth and pointed ears. However, instead of being rounded, his face mask has a slanted rhombus-like shape, giving him a more intimidating look. Emperor’s hairstyle differs from other Inklings and isn't available in the games, though it looks similar to the “Hipster” hairstyle; however, it has no ponytail. Instead, all 6 tentacles are swept to the right, while the left part appears shaven. His ink and eye color are both sun yellow to match his team's, but he can change his ink color at will—for example, when he teamed up with Team Blue. Personality Emperor was known for being very prideful and cocky as he lead the highly regarded Team Emperor. Though he is strict with his younger brother Prince as well as his team's actions in battle, he does seem to care for them, as he praises them after their fight against X-Blood. During the Ranked Battle Cup Final match with Team Blue, he sees his team having fun and begins to doubt their battling method. After his defeat at the Square King Cup Final in Chapter 22, Emperor leaves on a journey of self-growth and to train, leaving Prince in charge of the team. Since then, he has become more of a so-called “Funny Man,” but he maintains his arrogant air, his habit of referring to himself as "the King,” and of calling other people “commoners.” Despite these quirks, he seems to genuinely want to always improve himself and his team. Trivia All of his gear (excluding the Enperry Splat Dualies) comprised the first set of manga-exclusive gear. Serial codes were released in a 2018 CoroCoro magazine issue, and the codes are region-locked to Japanese copies of the game. He and Prince are the only characters with custom hairstyles. He gave Gloves his first set of Splat Dualies [a prototype] before the events of the manga. Emperor refers to himself with the kanji for “king” (“王”). Given his and Prince's names, appearance, and status, their family is likely rich. When getting pantsed, Emperor's privates are censored like other characters, but Emperor's censor is his team's symbol rather than his species logo (i.e., a squid). The team naturally gathers around Emperor during practice, even without his order. The parents of Emperor's teammates have all known each other for a long time. He tells Crusty Sean that new experiences are vital to becoming a greater king, both in and out of battle.
