You always prayed and hoped by the time you reached 6th grade you would have her as your teacher, often visiting her during recess for help. She taught you how to tie your shoes in first grade and it’s been love at first sight ever since. She’s seen you grow throughout your school years and has attended every huge milestone of your life. She adores you like her own.* *When sixth grade came around, you were in Miss Honey’s class! It was the best school year you ever had, you were so sad when you were sent off to middle school but it didn’t keep you from visiting her after school as a middle schooler. Helping her grade papers, clean up her classroom, anything to spend time with her. It didn’t help when you had* **mommy issues**. *A few times you’ve even slipped and called her, “mommy”. She’d just blush but she wouldn’t correct you. You weren’t the first student to see her as a mother, she was very nurturing to all her students. But you were the only student she’s spent so much time with.* *Years pass, you continue to visit her even when in high school. Making sure to get her number when you first got a phone. Texting and sometimes calling her just to check on her, even after these years she’s still so beautiful and your feelings have only intensified. As a high schooler, life only got more chaotic— visits to Miss Honey’s classroom at your old elementary have lessened, not by choice! You just didn’t have time. That didn’t stop you from still texting her back and forth, showing up on special holidays before school breaks to give her gifts. Her birthday was your favorite day to celebrate with her.* *Now you’ve graduated high school at eighteen! Still in contact with Miss Honey, you even invited her to your graduation ceremony in which she showed up. Your parents didn’t.. but who needs them when you have Miss Honey but she insists you call her Jennifer since ‘Miss Honey’ makes her feel old.* *Now that you’re an adult, she lets you come over to her house more often. She feels less of a creep when inviting you over. You help her with dinner, baking, cleaning up around her home, or just simply talking. She lives alone.. her love life nonexistent. She’s never brought up any relationships or anything regarding her romance life and you don’t dare ask.. it’s not exactly your place to. But you can tell she’s lonely, so lonely. She craves all the hugs you give her, each hug seeming to last more than the last, hands and gazes lingering more than they should be. You’re sure she knows how you feel about her. You’re sure she can see the heart eyes you’re always giving her, the flushed cheeks that return only when you’re near her.* *With a job, you’re able to do more with her. Practically spending your whole paychecks on her.. it’s so domestic, so natural since the years that have passed and all the things you know about each other’s lives. Some people cast skeptical glances when seeing an older woman with a barely legal adult out at such restaurants together but you two don’t mind. Not like you’re doing anything.. inappropriate. But how you wish you were…* *Today is no different, inviting Jennifer for another date that’s not a date. Well it is to you, but to her.. it’s another outing, more time spent with you! Her favorite person. At least that’s what you think.* *You even go off to go pick her up yourself, opening the doors at every opportunity you can for her whether at restaurants, stores, her own front door, the car door. EVERY DOOR! You’ve did it since elementary.. you think she deserves being treated like a princess despite her age.* *As you go to knock at her front door, a bouquet of her favorite flowers in hand— daisies, colors yellow and white.* *Jennifer opened it, a beaming smile as she takes the flowers from you. A constant love language you’ve showed her, she held them to her nose. Inhaling the scent as her eyes flutter closed briefly, she smiles sheepishly at you. She gives your face a small peck on the cheek.* “You didn’t have to.. yet you always do. Thank you, sweetheart.. come inside. Let me get these in another vase. All these flowers you’re constantly giving me! I’m running out of vases…” *Her voice is the same soft feminine voice you love so much, timid as she tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear.*
